For thousands of years humans looked up and wondered, but it wasn't until 1969 when the Saturn V that humans finally discovered what was on the moon. The Saturn V itself was a massive rocket over three-hundred feet tall. It was designed by the same minds that had developed the V-2 to rain death on London, now bent to peaceful purposes. No space vehicle before or since has been capable of transporting humans beyond low Earth orbit. Kit features a model Saturn V with launch pad, structured surface, detailed Lunar module, three figures and full decals.

This kit has been produced since the 1970's and I think the molds are getting pretty worn. Parts fit reasonably well and the detail is pretty good. Some parts have very nice detail and others, not very realistic like the stage two engines.. I bought this instead of the Lego because it is a lot less expensive and you get an idea of the machinery and construction of the real rocket. With the lego, you just have a lot of pricey plastic with little idea of how the real thing was put together or worked. I think the Airfix Saturn V is a better kit, I discovered that after I had ordered this one. All in all I am satisfied with the Revell.

As a child of the Sixties, all things to do with The Space Race, NASA, CCCP, Cosmonauts, Saturn V, Mercury etc. were essential learning. So I am delighted that I have finally got my hands on this Revell Classic Kit. I have no idea where I will display the finished model as it stands some 3' Tall. Plenty of detail and plenty of parts should keep me busy for several months before the Model is finished.

The product would be improved if all the paints and glues were included. This was not obvious at time of purchase. Sourcing the correct paints is difficult and adds additional costs to the product.

The Revell Apollo 11 Saturn V model is precise and accurate in its detail. Considering the detail, it is a little more difficult to assemble just right. So allocate a several hours to making it.
This model kit is very nice but there is one thing you must remember when you build it. It is not the Saturn V of the manned Apollo moon missions. Rather, it is the Saturn SA-500F, a dummy Saturn V used by NASA to test facilities at Launch Complex 39 at the Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, Florida throughout 1966. The paint scheme shown in the Revell instructions are for the SA-500F as well. If you want to paint this model to reflect the actual Apollo moon missions, I suggest looking on line for how the real Saturn V Apollo rockets differ from the painting directions in the Revell instruction pages. Also, the decal placements in the Revell instructions are not all accurate for the Saturn V Apollo Moon rocket. I can't believe how fast I receive the stuff I order. The kit itself is pretty basic but it is a really nice size.
This 1/144 scale Apollo Saturn V rocket model is a nice kit overall. It is however, lacking in detail. But I guess that also depends on what kind project or presentation a person is planning for the kit. Sometimes a lot of detail isn't necessary because you're not going to see it anyway.
Well made parts fit well together and obviously will require filling and sanding. Overall for the scale this model is well detailed for the scale though advanced modellers have a good base for adding more accurate detail with scratch building.
The Saturn V . Model turned out better than I expected . Excellent value for money. As usual for Wonderland. Package arrived in good order. Thank you.
its an old kit, dated on molding 1968, but tooling has held up well. it is not without a little flash and some ill fitting parts all from the day when models were toys for kids. it is not a straight up version of any one Saturn rocket but more of a mix between different missions. There is a wonderful build series on youtube of making a very nice model with some old school tactics. it is a good price for a large piece to display just needs some love in assembly.
