We bought this shredder because our old one died. IT is an ok shredder, it works. Only reason it didn't get the 5*s was because of paper getting stuck just under the feeder just above the blades and also the instructions are pretty poor.
After my first shredder broke after 1 use (didn't buy it from Very) I decided to pay more, hoping for a better and workable model. I have used it a couple of times and I am not disappointed. It hasn't over-heated once. Only downside is the grey perspex window, you can't see clearly when box getting full.
This product is unobtrusive in a home environment. However, the one adverse comment I would have of this product is the lack of positive grip when removing the shredder head to empty the bin. The finger recess is limited and curved so creating a risk of dropping a heavy component.
I ordered this as the description says this is a cross cut shredder - it's not. Also trim is falling off from around the teeth of the machine - guess the dust from the paper has loosened the glue already!Unfortunately, as I have used it, I can't return it so will have to make do, but it definitely doesn't have the security level advertised.
This equipment is not as described. Claimed to shred 12 sheets at a time, barely copes with 2. Jams constantly. Poor value for money. Avoid unless you do very little shredding. I would like to return this.
As soon as I started to use this it was clear that I'd be pushing it to put 12 pages in. Used it gently over an afternoon, feeding in no more than 5 sheets together, but after I'd emptied the bin 4 times it just seized up, switched itself off and that was the end of it. Tried re-starting it a few times as the instructions said that if it overheated it would need 60 minutes rest, but it was dead as a doornail after 24 hours.
Arrived on time.. Disappointed used when arrived. Shredded 9 or 10 sheets of paper (singly) reverse only after. Tried a few hrs later too shredded more not working died. Returned item. Ideal size abd weight if it had worked.
