The long-awaited installment in the popular series of fast, compact cameras, the Ricoh GR III Street Edition continues the legacy of being a pocketable powerhouse, offering impressive image quality, fast response, and immense portability. Featuring a redeveloped imaging feature-set, the GR III incorporates a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and GR Engine 6 to realize smooth tonality, rich color and high sensitivity from ISO 100-102400, along with the ability to produce high-resolution 14-bit DNG stills or Full HD video. Complementing the sensor design is an updated 28mm-equivalent prime lens, which features a bright f/2.8 design, to suit everyday shooting with a comfortably wide field of view. Additionally, a first for GR, a 3-axis Shake Reduction System compensates for the effects of camera shake to help render sharper handheld shots when working with slower shutter speeds. Street Edition Camera body has a unique "asphalt-like" surface texture, which is achieved by a multi-layer spray process that provides a smooth-but-non-slippery feel. A striking yellow-orange has been chosen as the accent color to on the camera's ring cap. This specific yellow was chosen as it is reminiscent of traffic lines painted on streets. Distinct shutdown screen features a specially designed product logo and a street-view image that symbolizes the camera's "street snapshot" concept. In addition to the cosmetic differences, the GR III Street Edition also includes the Full Press Snap feature, which lets you instantly shift the focus point of the lens to a preselected position when the shutter release button is fully pressed. This function can also be assigned to the rear LCD, where you simply tap the touchscreen to quickly change focus, and ignore the standard AF process, to help intuitively capture fleeting moments.

The camera came with a start up booklet with QR codes for registration and user guides. Neither code scanned therefore l emailed Photospecialist for advice. After a few days the email was returned undelivered, hence only four stars.I am however very satisfied with the camera but due to inclement weather and work commitments I have not been able to use the camera much. I had previously been using a Panasonic TZ 70 but after several years of use I was finding that my iPhone 13 mini was taking photos that matched or bettered it. Although I am an amateur photographer taking photos for fun, with retirement pending and my partner being a serious photographer I now wish to be able to take nicer photos hence my purchase. Quite a specialised bit of kit but superb at what it does. Excellent image quality, the most extensive & simple to use menus on any camera(!!) very easy to carry very easy to slip into a pocket or purse. Only the single focull length of the camera stops me giving it 5 stars - but it's also which makes it so superb

What this camera does, it does very very well. Don't expect it to do everything - it's not a super expensive high-end unit. Fits in the pocket, takes great JPEGs and RAW images. I agree its probably the best truly 'travel' camera money can buy.

very nice camera, for everyday use. the images are great. take time with the settings and you get some very good results. It will pay for itself because it will be used a lot. It is a little pricey, but after you get the camera in your hands you can feel the quality. The lens is great, and they have an large sensor in a small package. Yes it will fit in your pocket. Much better than cell phone pictures for printing.
Intuitive to use and lots of customisation options. Great size. Images are sharp and detailed. WiFi app is OK, sometimes struggles to connect to my 'phone but thus is not really a big deal to me. High ISO noise and general low light performance isn't great but for most situations this is an enjoyable camera to use.
As the saying goes. 'The best camera is the one you've got with you', and this one is the best in (compact) class. Although, obviously, not up to a DSLR with decent glass, I'm very impressed with the image quality and the thought that's gone into the controls should put many camera manufacturers to shame it's just so intuitive and quick. If it had a built in viewfinder / rangefinder it would be perfect; but then, I suppose, it would be a different beast more like the Fuji X100, which I also own and stays at home more these days. The best thing I like about this camera is that it makes you less noticed on the street sometimes I'm in, taken the photo, and out again before people notice what's happened. Tiny camera, will fit in your pocket, great for taking everywhere with you. Fantastic images straight out of camera, the lens is so sharp and the snap focus function is brilliant for street photography.
Pros: Amazing image quality lightweight easy to handle carry.Cons: Build could be a little better.
I bought this camera because I needed a truly pocketable camera (not just compact like an X100V, but truly actually fits in a pocket). Considering how incredibly tiny it is, the image quality is superb, and really shines in contrasty direct sunlight. The biggest complaint I have is with the auto focus selection points, it often misses focus even when it should be clear what I'm pointing it at. My primary camera is a canon R5, so I'm spoiled by its lightning fast AF, and it's not fair to compare this to that. But really, that's my only complaint! Weather sealing would be nice, but not the end of the world. Would definitely recommend if you want something light, compact, but still great images.
Its too small for my big hands and to transfer photos to your phone can be a pain in the neck. I decided to get the iPhone 14.
