This is the second Ridgid tubing cutter I have purchased. The first one lasted 40 years and was fine until someone used it as a hammer and broke the frame.

I needed a tool to shorten a shotgun barrel. The other tube cutters from other manufacturers were very light weight and not recommended for steel tubing. The Ridgid Model 15 is rated for light steel tubing and is very hefty. After carefully marking the length and taping off both sides of the cut line to protect the bluing from the cutter roller I began the cutting process. After 12-15 twists around the barrel, gradually tightening the tool, the cut portion fell away. The cut itself was very clean, exactly flush and square to the barrel and required very little deburring. And the roller did not mar the existing blue finish. A couple of applications of bluing to the shiny cut mark and the finished muzzle looks just like the rest of the blued metal. I couldn't have ... MoreI needed a tool to shorten a shotgun barrel. It is easy to use, cuts very smoothly and precisely and the weight of this cutter eliminates any chatter or skipping out of the cut track. And you can buy replacement cutter wheels if needed. I highly recommend the Model 15 tube cutter by Ridgid. It exceeded my expectations!

Works fantastic. Even though its listed to normally cut conduit it does easily cut through stainless steel tubing as long as your not overly aggressive on your cuts. Of course I've never used an industrial grade Ridgid tool that didn't work. They are definitely one of the best.
I used to use the little, small tubing cutter on my last brake job. I justified buying this one because I was saving $$$ doing the job myself. The RIDGID 32910 Model 10' ease of use and quality of cut made this tool well worth the money. In this case, you truly do get what you pay for. I'll never go back to the cheaper one.
I have used and abused this cutter for over 26 years!! I purchased it back in 1995 when I started in the piping industry and it has survived being submerged, thrown, ran over, thousands of cuts, rust, snow, the occasional dog trying to eat or fetch it, and what ever other forms of use and abuse I has put it through. It keeps on cutting! I have only ever replaced the cutting wheel and had to replace a roller because I lost the screw that held it in place in a ditch whilst cutting copper for a sewer and water lateral years back.
Great cutters and they have always worked great. Mine would cut up to 2 1/4 pipe and I had problems with them walking when cutting 2" and bigger. Just had to watch it and make sure it kept straight. Other than the fact someone wanted them more than me they are great cutters!
Bought new no.20 copper tube cutters and they walk. I have not used them very much. I tried replacing the cutting wheel and tighten the screws and no luck. Ridgid wants me to send them back. Can’t be without them for a long time. The supply house where I bought them from should just exchange them and deal with ridgid on returning them.
I wasn't sure which size would be best for home DIY projects, and didn't want to invest in a complete set of 10, 20, 30 tube/pipe cutters for something I'd only need or use very occasionally. Decided on the Ridgid #20 size and wasn't disappointed. It's big enough to tackle kitchen sink and bathroom vanity sink pipes up to 2 1/8 inches. Anything larger I probably should call the Plumber anyway. This model is solid and cuts tubing accurately and quickly, like a hot knife through butter. I'm sure this product will outlive me.
The cheap tubing cutters from places like Harbor Freight are fine if you only need to cut a few things but the $5 cutters break quickly and then into the trash they go since replacement parts aren't available. The ridgid cutter is much higher quality and will last for years plus replacement cutter wheels are available. This cutter may cost five times the price of the cheap junk cutters but will last for years! The tool was shipped quickly.
