I wanted the same thing but a different color. I absolutely love the understated elegance of this bag. The functionality and durability is the same as the original, but with this unique and beautiful color. The wheels roll like a dream and the handle raises and lowers in an instant. Can't recommend this bag more highly.

It's first time out I brought it to the Philippines & Japan, through rough pavements & rain, and it held up well. The wheels still roll smooth and the interior compression was a Godsend. I probably won't get anything larger to check-in since not all baggage handlers are equal! I would buy again and especially through Neiman Marcus.
For the price i expect the handle to last longer than the warranty period. It broke within a month of expiration. So did the zippers. I have had cheaper bags last longer. It is lightweight though
Love(d) this brand! (At least before it was sold.) Too bad the new stuff sucks (at least the ones made in North America do.) I'm a little dissapointed that this case no longer has the strap that allows you to attach a bag to the case, but it's not as necessary on the cabin bag. FOR SURE make sure that your bag is made in Germany before purchasing. The ones made in Canada are CHEAP! I wish Rimowa hadn't sold out. The days of it being high end have been numbered.
An obvious staple piece for frequent travelers. What it takes up in potential packing weight it makes up in world-glass style. It’s prone to dents an dings. It’s to be expected and reportedly add character.
I thought this would be a gold color like in the picture but it looks more like brown with brownish plastic handles. Not what I was expecting. The silver is much more attractive even if you are not that much into silver.
Great, sturdy case with stunning good looks. Something that I knew going in continues to be a bit of a practical issue - no outside pockets or compartments to hold passport or cellphone, etc. This is an issue if you don't carry another smaller carryon item like a backpack or purse.
