I actually ordered the battery operated camera, but received the powered/corded version, so returned it. Either way my major comment is related to both the corded and batter powered cameras. My biggest complaint with the Stick Up Cam, is that if you want to mount the camera to a ceiling, you must purchase separately the mounting hardware. If the camera is mounted upside down, there is no way to rotate the image/video on the settings, so your images and video are upside down. While the product description indicates that ceiling mounting requires separate hardware, it does not explain why the hardware is required; i.e. not for the purpose of mounting to the ceiling, but rather so that the camera can be installed upright. I really like that the stick up cam looks modern and stylish and doesn't look out-of-place in the living room. We set it up in our living room where we can see our pets while we are out. The camera function is extremely clear and high quality, and so is the audio function. The audio function is very high quality as well. It literally sounds like I'm standing in the next room. I also really like the fact that the battery is removable and easily charged with a USB cord instead of having regular batteries or being hard-wired to the house's power. I am not very tech-savy, but I was able to download the ring ap and get the camera up and running in under 15 minutes. The program guides you through set-up and makes the whole process very easy. This product can not be mounted upside down. however quality and design are very good. the way this device hardware is gets it a bonus star but the other drawbacks make it so that i cant give this more than a 2/5.Ring in its essence is a company that requires you to pay for a service that you can use for free with so many competitors. the door bell camera was great, however as i expanded into the other ring items, i realized their way of doing things is awful and expensive in the long run. However i want an option to record for longer durations or also to be able to view the camera at all times. this is not a feature, the camera will only record when you go to view it or when there is motion. i understand the reason why this is but i still want the option for that, i am paying for a premium service afterall.

Gives me peace of mind

I use the Ring primarily in the dog room so I can monitor what’s going on in there while I’m out. Our dog room is a small bedroom with couch, dog beds and a cat tower and home to three dogs and a cat. I love that I can set the Ring up at one end of the room and the wide-angle allows me to see everything. I don’t have it mounted so that I can move it around the house if desired. It’s totally controllable from the app so that wherever I am I can check in on the animals - or turn off the motion detector so that I’m not bothered by notifications every time one of them moves. It’s given me real peace of mind knowing they mostly just sleep! If anyone so much as approaches our front gate the dogs get up and bark and I get notified. This is our first Ring product. We've been using the Ring Stick Up Wifi Pet Camara for about a month and couldn't be happier with it. Currently we are using this indoors to monitor our pets and home when we are away. The Camara's design is sleek and contemporary looking and is small enough to not be obtrusive. Purchase the protection plan

I purchased a Ring Stick Up Cam about 6 months ago. Recently it didn't work so I called customer service and spoke with a tech, she walked me through the setup instructions that I had already tried on Rings website. This didn't work. She then told me to try another cellphone again this didn't work, she then asked me to try a 3rd cellphone ( I'm serious) . I then asked her if she would replace the item as to which I was told to return it to Lowes. But I was over there return time policy. I spoke with my neighbor and he told me that even though he purchased his cameras at Lowe's, Ring replaced 9 of his. So I contacted Ring again and told a rep about this and was told Ring no longer does this. Ring camera used in my home

Ah, the Ring Video Camera, the high-tech sentinel of suburbia, or as I like to call it, my personal snooping sidekick. The Ring Video Camera isn't just a security device – it's a comedic companion that turns everyday surveillance into a sidesplitting sitcom. From installation antics (im not tech savvy, instalation was tricky. I had to get help) to motion detection mishaps, it's the perfect addition to any homeowner's laugh-out-loud security arsenal. I use the camera in my livingroom and it helps me keep an eye on my dogs while im at work. After my son helped with installation and talked me through the app, it was great. It works well, great picture as advertised. I feel better about being away from my dogs, knowing i can check on them with just a click of a button.

The cameras have a pretty decent picture but it’s definitely not the clearest I have seen in comparison to other brands. The audio recording is also incredibly hard to capture clearly if there's even the slightest road noise or wind noise nearby. My biggest complaint is their community service and uploading is garbage. We had two very suspicious males approach our front door to inspect it and then walk away. Audio recording proved my assumptions they were scouting for possible break in. One suspect commented to his partner “did you see the front door it has a security gate door and camera too” his partner also took a picture of our front entrance from far out. All this is alarming information that we felt needed to be shared with all of our neighbors. They act just like Gavin Newsome, since criminals have more rights than the law abiding people. Go with someone else who’s actually trying to protect you instead of Ring.

Wish I'd gotten this sooner

I was very excited with the anticipation of receiving this product and it did not disappoint. I already have the doorbell ring, so this was the perfect compliment to that system. I have one small pittbull/poodle mix on a GPS collar and 3.5 acres, plus a handful of sheep and goats out back. My young child likes to play on the swingset and always brings the dog out with her. With the outdoor ring, I have the capability to check on them at any time and still see any visitors to the sheep and goat pen.
