The new DPS-2 is an exceptional linear power supply that not only boasts impressive specifications but also offers a range of unique and highly useful features. For instance, the compact device features two differently filtered outputs. The chassis and front panel of the DPS-2 are based on the ADI-2 series and house RME's innovative circuit design in a half-rack width. The linear output is a conventional DC output, but with multi-stage passive and active filtering, including a 30,000 μF capacitor bank, a ferrite choke, and an active output filter with a hybrid voltage regulator. The second output is based on the μFilter technology developed by RME. The pre-filtered linear output signal is also processed by highly efficient active filters to achieve an exceptionally clean DC output with only a few μV of noise. Additionally, the output features sensor technology that measures and adjusts the output voltage directly at the DC connector of the included DC cable. This results in an extremely low output impedance and load regulation, ensuring a clean output voltage of +12.0 V at a load of 2.5 A, completely avoiding any load-dependent voltage drop. By also employing a two-stage HF filter and a DC filter on the AC side, the DPS-2 can deliver optimal performance without noise. The 60 VA audio ring core transformer with an additional isolation winding and magnetic shielding also contributes to ensuring absolutely hum-free operation in all situations.
