I purchased this in november 2020 to replace a 15 year old office lever that was my first prosumer machine. The apartmento is a compact machine with a great set of accessories. The steaming wand is great, very easy to froth and get good foam. The machine heats up in about 10 minutes or so and the machine pressure recovers quickly after steaming which was always a complaint with the office lever. It pulls very nice shots and cleans easily. The only issue I have had with it is the portafilter is specific to the machine and very expensive to replace. I ordered a replacement from rocket because even with the shipping it was slightly less then WLL, but it got lost in shipping once. Its just a really nice machine and I really like it

I've had this machine for 5 years, over 5,000 double shots, and it has performed as well as any machine could be expected to: Service has included replacement gasket on group head, new pressure stat, and new pump (recent). I do about a once-a-month cleaning using Urnex Cafiza, and I use good water. My original gripe with Rocket was that they didn't provide a metal cup rail; that still stands. The one suggestion for machine upgrade (easy user task) would be to add a pressure gauge on the group head to get to a good grind and tamp pressure combination (9 bar extraction). For learning espresso it's all about consistency: get a good grinder that delivers consistent weight and grind; get a spring tamper to ensure consistent tamp pressure; work with a single coffee until ... MoreI've had this machine for 5 years, over 5,000 double shots, and it has performed as well as any machine could be expected to: Service has included replacement gasket on group head, new pressure stat, and new pump (recent). Bottom line: reduce variables until you're somewhat proficient, then start experimenting.

This machine has been so much fun to pull shots with. As a first timer with a ‘prosumer’ machine, it was difficult to dial in and understand how to use, but thanks to the build quality, unique and beautiful aesthetic, and popularity, there’s a wealth of knowledge available for how to resolve any extraction issue I should face. The features it has all work great and it’s an elegant first step in my espresso journey, and I imagine it would be for you too. I highly recommend it for its looks, responsiveness, and the delicious coffee I’ve made with it.

Amazing Machine! A few things though I wold change.

This is a 99% positive review of this machine. My mother in law got this machine for my wife and I for our wedding present and we couldn't be happier! She originally bought us a fully automated machine like something you might find at Sur La Table or William Sonoma, and when it was a decent machine for push and go, just after about 4 weeks we notices that it was inconsistent, wasn't giving us that rich creme we loved when going to coffee shops, and steaming milk was a bit weird being that it was automated. We returned the machine and with the money I did more research and found the Appartamento. My wife and I couldn't be happier since. We returned the machine and with the money I did more research and found the Appartamento. My wife and I couldn't be happier since. We have our favorite coffee "Kauai Coffee Estate Roast" dialed in to perfection for espresso and just love this machine. With other coffees it takes about a shot to figure out grind size ect. and were up and running. We use this machine every single day both of us for our commute to work coffees and sometimes twice a day for an afternoon shot. We also use it at night for those ever amazing espresso martinis. This machine has held up fantastic over the last 2 years. I'm just about to do a maintenance on it and going to inspect the screen and seal and then take apart the E61 Group Head to clean and inspect the parts for hard water, even though we have a whole house water filtration ya never know. The only downside I can see for this machine is the water tank is a touch to small in my opinion and although that isn't a huge deal breaker, I wish there was an easier way to visually see the water level. There's been a few times where I went to brew a shot and as soon as I started the green light would blink signaling low water and the shot would stop. The machine is a touch loud too which isn't a massive deal, but I do get up for work at 430 am and I'm just glad my wife is a heavy sleeper so she barely hears it. Even after two years I still love fine tuning my espresso and next I would be looking to upgrade my grinder to something a bit more commercial grade as I think that would be a huge difference in coffee profile and flavor.

Damaged Units during Transit
18 September 2022

First delivery came damaged. The welded frame where the water tray sits was deformed, making the unit impossible to be leveled even after adjusting legs. Had to return and get a replacement.Second delivery for replacement still came damaged. When I pulled the machine out of the box, I noticed one of the legs was missing. Come to find that it somehow landed in the water container in the back. This was likely due to vibrations during transit, but nonetheless left the machine pretty banged up. Honestly kind of out of luck at this point and not sure what to do, knowing that the machine is just inevitably going to get damaged during transit. Kind of ready to just give up tbh. Durable Beast
30 March 2023

This is a replacement for a 12 y/o Rocket Machine. It lasted for 12 years with moderate/heavy use. That is 2 times a day, every day for 12 years. 365 days X 2 = 730 x 12= 8,760 double shots. Now that we have durability covered. Quality of those shots are amazing. And now, the new machine is even better.Lots talk about saving money and Starbucks. Two Cappuccinos per day is roughly 10 bucks. 10 x 8760 = 87,600.Way better coffee.

Experience with Rocket Apartamento
10 November 2022

I have had this machine for over a year and so far my experience has been horrible.First, I purchased this machine last year in June. The machine was faulty and had a leak at the bottom. Had to send it back and received a replacement. Based on the packaging, I was suspecting the replacement was a refurbished one. But I took it just didn't want to deal with all the headache.Few days ago, the machine stopped working (no heat). Contacted tech support team. After spending time and money (bought a new multimeter), still couldn't fix the issue. So I had to send it back for repair. Although the part and labor still under warranty, it still costs me more than $200 for packing and ground shipping, not to mention that I will have no machine for next 2+ weeks. However, the tech support team has been very patient and walked me through to identify the issue. So far this machine has been giving me no pleasure but headache. My old Rancilio worked perfectly for 13 years without a hiccup. I wish I had purchased different machine instead.

Machine is wonderful! Courier service, not so much.

I would give my experience 5 stars because this machine does what it needs to do. I have purchased a thermometer just to gauge my brewing temps. I love the bottomless portafilter that Whole Latte Love provided! The only I have issue with is the delivery. It was UPS, and they didn't ask for my signature. They left a package worth over $1500 out my door, and didn't even knock. I had to camp out a whole day during the day of delivery and was able to bring in my packages in time because I heard a thud outside. I saw the delivery man as he was walking out, with the signature device in hand. I'm a little iffy on whether or not I'll be making purchases depending on the courier they choose...But it's going to be a while before I make another purchase like that again, if at ... MoreI would give my experience 5 stars because this machine does what it needs to do. Perfect Prosumer espresso machine, simple and elegant
3 April 2023

Great upgrade from our Breville 800EXL of 9 years that finally quit. The Rocket Appartamento is well-built, classic and timeless in style, and simple in design and operation. There is only one switch (on/off), one lever (pull a shot), and two knobs (steam and hot water). The minimalism and detachment from "digital everything" is great. Ironically, having a physical on/off switch allows you to use a smart plug to schedule when it should turn off and off. this is especially nice since it takes a solid 10-15min for it to reach temperature.Negatives are mino: the time to reach temperature, difficult to pop out the filter from the portafilter holder, a water level indicator would be nice.

Rocket Apartamento Review

Love this machine! It not only looks so great on the counter but performs so well. The fact that the group head can stay warm for hours, or that you can steam your milk and pull a shot simultaneously is incredible. The price tag might be a bit higher than a home set-up needs to be, but this machine is well worth the extra cash. The build quality is phenomenal and the weight of the machine will ensure that it won't move an inch when locking the portafilter into the group head.
