Crystal clear sound great mids and highs even at higher volumes.

I used these speakers (I bought 2 sets) to replace the stock speakers in my 2015 Civic. I did not use an amp, I ran these directly off the stock head unit which has an output of 160W. I have subs that have the audio signal supplied from a line out converter off the 2 rear speakers. I have the bass level turned 4 steps down on the head unit so these speakers dont stress too much on the lows and they are crystal clear with no distortion even when the volume is high.I actually have the volume at a lower level than with the stock speakers because these are louder. The built in crossover for the tweeter brings out the highs in a way that Ive not heard before in a vehicle sound system.

I had these speakers installed in my old 2000 civic, these sounded very well for as cheap as they are, good midrange and clear high range. The bass from the woofer was enough but not overly powerful. Overall they are great sounding. My only complaint and thus why its a four star review is because I actually had to make them fit as the outer pre drilled holes did not line up with the factory location holes in my car. once I made them fit it was nothing but great sounding audio. I would reccomend these still, because the price you pay is unbeatable for the quality.

Great when they work. Revised: In the end, Work Great!

I am following up my review and giving a new star rating of 5. The old review can be seen below. The reason I originally gave these speakers a good but not stellar rating at the time was because the passenger side which I installed the speaker was crackling at a low volume. I seriously thought I just got a bad speaker of the pair but it didn't sound like it was actually blown out either. The driver side that was installed sounded just fine. Never having had this problem before and a bit slighted I decided to research then issue. I didn't realize this but some speakers require a "warm up" or "break in" period. I kept the volumes low and advised my fiance now to turn them up just yet. After about a week I turned the volume up to when it would crackle last time and the crackle was gone! I turned them up then to the volume I'd comfortably listen to my music and they sounded clean! So for anyone who may have a speaker crackled at low volumes but doesn't sound like it blew (muffled) then just give it a break in period by not overloading the speaker to the point that it crackles for awhile to allow everything to loosen up. At this point I would recommend this brand and these speakers if you have a vehicle that needs 6.5" speakers. OLD Review (Apr 03, 2018): Bought these and installed in a 2001 blazer. They sounded amazing until yesterday. Turned on the radio and the right speaker now crackles (not completely blown though) while the left one sounds perfectly fine. I don't know what to think of this brand as I've never used them before but if this is how their quality control is then I'm looking at other better trusted brands.

Installed in 2008 Jeep JKU
29 May 2020

I bought these to try Rockford Fosgate products. Right out of the box, you can tell these are much better than stock. The sound is crisp and the bass is adequate. When installing in my Jeep JKU sound bar and front boxes, I had to buy additional brackets (Metra 82-6601) for these to fit. THESE WILL NOT FIT DIRECTLY TO THE SOUND BAR OR FRONT SPEAKER BOXES. These are currently just powered by the head unit, not an amp. May see better gains using an amp to power these. I also used some poly fill in the sound bar and speaker boxes to improve quality (recommend doing). Overall, I am impressed with this product from Rockford Fosgate.

No Sub Needed
23 April 2018

I put these into the doors of a 2005 Chevy pickup truck. The design of the door and upholstery seems deliberately intended to prohibit upgrading. I was able to get a solid and un-noticable install by the use of a 6.5 inch spacer ring about 2 inches thick, a perforated metal grill, and a spray can of Rustoleum Flat Soft Iron paint which is a perfect match for GM dark gray interiors. Even without an external power amp, and with sound-dampening material inside the doors, the outer door panels and rear-view mirror rattled badly. I solved this by cutting a 4 inch hole in the plastic inner door panel about 2.5 inches below the speaker and inserting a 6 inch length of black PVC pipe into the hole to turn the door into a ported bass-reflex speaker. Not quick but worth the install

speakers are great, install base required modification but ultimately worked well. Not a quick install but still worth it, Installed on front doors of 2006 Scion Xb. I would recommend this product.

Perfect stock replacement speaker
25 June 2018

The Rockford Fosgate prime 6.5 is a great replacement speaker for unimpressive stock speakers in a wide variety of vehicles. Having 3way coaxial in the from creates a robust soundstage for the front. The speakers handle mid bass great and also house silk tweeters which is unheard of at this price. They handle 45 watts rms which works fine on aftermarket stereos when you crank it with extra bass boost or loud features activated. More specifically, it allows the option to use a 4 channel amplifier to them . I replaced the stock front paper door speakers with these. And prime 6x9 2ways in the rear deck. It sounds amazing . An affordable upgrade in sound quality while being gentle on your wallet. I recommend them to anyone.

RF Primes are legit!
12 March 2020

Huge fan of these mids. The 3-way function can handle anything you throw at it. Worked perfectly as an upgrade from my factory door speakers. I bought tweeters to get a little higher but ended up not needing them cuz the tweeter on the speaker is perfect. I dont want any bass coming from my door speakers so I set them up strictly for mid-range and with my bass knob turned off the sound still sounds amazing. You can clearly hear different instruments and parts of the music. The 90 Watts and 45 arms are easy to see. You wont be sorry to buy these speakers if you like your music clear at any level. Great speakers.

Replaced the oe speakers in my 2002 silverado
18 June 2020

These fit great in my doors without using adapters with the included mounting hardware. I also had a pair of speaker wire adapters to make my installation plug and play but even if I didnt they came with pre terminated wire. The difference in clarity, volume, and bass is incredible when comparing them with the 18 year old factory speakers. They're not subwoofers but they do put out enough bass for door speakers in my opinion. I am powering these with a 2 din kenwood head unit and i am able to turn the volume up to 25-27 depending on the song before they start to distort. Overall they're a phenomenal bang for buck factory speaker replacement option.

I put two pairs of the speakers in my 2015 Nissan Murano S. For those of the who have the murano without the speaker package, the speakers are more than lackluster. Once you turn up the volume, the highs distort like crazy and there is absolutely ZERO range to them. THAT IS UNTIL NOW.I got these because I didnt want to use an amp and really spend more than 50 dollars a pair. These thing are awesome. Super crisp on the high ends with the music blaring and they have an acceptable amount of punch to them to give them range. they are not sub-woofers so dont expect rattle your bolts loose with bass but they certainly provide a kick, listening to metal, prog, indy, and Hiphop these have proved to be such a great all around speaker. with spending around 100 dollars on the ... MoreI put two pairs of the speakers in my 2015 Nissan Murano S.
