After years of using Gillette Sensor Excel blades I bought the Muhle R 89 razor but really struggled to get a good shave. After reading the article "Double Edge Razor Blade Gap Explained" I felt that my struggles with the Muhle was its relatively narrow blade gap. This Rockwell adjustable razor was well worth the expense because the very first shave immediately resolved the difficulties I was having. It has a heavier head but that contributes to more consistent skin contact without any razor burn.If you can afford it, take the plunge and gain the benefit of such an improved shave and versatility in use.

Initially very, very stiff mechanism for opening the butterfly and the 1-6 shaving options. A little looser now after 3 weeks. would have returned it but out of time. Shaved this morning on No 3. It was a good shave so I'llstick with it. The mechanism is starting to slacken.

I said a model T2 it was model TI don't think much difference between 2it shaves great 5 with grain 4.5 against grain very happy
As well as a good-looking razor, I find The Rockwell T2 Adustable to be the correct aggression/mildness (depending on the adjustment) for my skin.However, since all men have different skin (thickness, texture, and overall sensitivity), it is important to note that this razor may or may not suit all men's skin type, so it is importantly to be aware of this if you are new to DE shaving or are young and want to try DE shaving for the first time.Overall, it was a very good razor.
Bottom line up front: ITS BETTER!!I have been using a safety razor for the last 7 years. Since that time I have had 6 different safety razors to include a Viking razor, the Merhker adjustable razor, oneblade, and 3 other models that I don’t remember the brand. I came across this razor and thought I have tried various brands from 20$-80$ let’s bite the bullet and see if it’s any better. ITS BETTER!!! It was like night and day. I went from a nic here and there to never getting any at all. The aggressiveness went from feeling like I was shaving with a rake to using a hot knife.
So after a few days use I can say that this is the best shave I have ever had from a non cartridge razor. Yes not quite as close as a straight razor - but no cuts or scrapes either! Adjustment mechanism is effective - not too loose or too tight. Quite large and at the heavier end, but fine for me. Overall, expensive but worth it.
So far so good…I’ve only used it with the Rockwell blades, which haven’t had so good reviews, but I can’t complain.I first tried it with two weeks of growth on setting 6, and that did pull a little now and then - could be the blades rather than the razor.Then I shaved again the next day on setting 1 and was much smoother.I’ve since tried it in two and four days growth on various setting and no problems at all.Beautiful razor, easily adjustable for when I can’t be bothered shaving for a few days / weeks!Mechanism to open the butterfly doors a little stiff at first, But soon loosened up.Good size and weight for a balanced hold to shave.Will be interesting to see how different it is with different blades.
One thing I really don't like is Rockwell's dishonesty. They took down my review. I will say here exactly what I said there on their site. I own 2 Model T razors. Love them. I bought mine after they had a few years to work the kinks out. Both perform flawlessly, great smooth shave, better than my fatboys that give excellent shaves. The model T's are my go to, every day razors. But the T2? Horrible razor. Horrible quality control. Nothing like the Model T. Have not cut myself shaving like this since my first cheap DE safety razor. And I never cut myself. It's like a $20 cheap Chinese razor. I'll vouch for the Model T all day long. But would advise anyone to stay away from the T2. They dropped the ball big time on this one.
