Rode are brilliant imho, and an Aussie business so that's even better.I've been nothing but extremely impressed with the performance of this mic, in the home studio and in a hall setting the M2 has been great, definitely highly recommend.

Wow. If you want a more neutral mic than a 58A, maybe to use with instruments or singers with poor mic technique, this is it. So clean, excellent cut-through, well built - and made here at a great price!

I have one and I have been doing P.A. for 50 plus years.I am a composer, instrumentalist, choral conductor, author and entertainer.I have a conglomeration of high end equipment. This Rode M2 Supercardioid handheld condenser mic is awesome. It cost less that allnof the mics that I own.My condenser mics cost 3 times as much as this mic.It is quite impressive and it holds its own weight. Awesome sound quality!

Exceptional mike ..

Super anti feedback to gain ratio. Very quiet in handling, and pop rejection. Silent on off switch which is lockable when needed.Good balance in hand. Sturdy metal case. Very good guarantee.

Problems with phantom powering...
14 September 2012

I purchased four M2 mics....When I plugged one in my mixer it worked fine...However, when I plugged in the other Three mics, they each lost phantom powere except the first...I have used other brand of condensor mics simultaneously and have never had a problem. It seems that they take a lot of power. I had to send them back and exchange them..The mic holder was extremely hard to adjust the angle...I think these mics sound really good, but be careful of the power supply issue. I know my mixer is not to blame. I did not want to spend another $200 to get individual power supplies for each mic...Personally, I prefer mics that are powered with a battery...Hey look, it is a bit of a nuisance, but you don't have to worry about your phantom powere supply..Perhaps all ... MoreI purchased four M2 mics....When I plugged one in my mixer it worked fine...However, when I plugged in the other Three mics, they each lost phantom powere except the first...I have used other brand of condensor mics simultaneously and have never had a problem. RODE M2 stage condenser mic Big on sound quality, light on the price.

This is a fantastic mic, for live vocals. Smooth, crisp, yet warm, true tonal reproduction of vocals. Also works great for acoustic guitar in my home studio, and is warmer than my Audio Technica 2020 condenser, although it doesn't have the same output and sensitivity, which I guess is a good thing at stage volumes anyway. I initially bought this as a back up incase my Beta 58 had a meltdown (which it never has), but I now find myself reaching for this all the time and the beta 58 is my backup now. This thing kicks serious BUTT ! If you are after a warm, true vocal sound on stage, don't hesitate to get one of these, Oh and the price? let us just say it is ridiculous for what you are getting. and it is MADE IN AUSTRALIA people, so get behind a local company that is ... MoreThis is a fantastic mic, for live vocals. I know where all my future mic purchases will be coming from.

Rode M2 Swing performer friend.
5 June 2016

Really loving my purchase of the Rode M2. After using a Rode NT1 in my small home studio wanted something that I could use while doing live performances without breaking the bank and the M2 has delivered. Most of the stuff we do is swing and the M2 gives great presence while minimizing feedback issues yet still crisp enough when singing those breathy numbers. Thanks again Store DJ Great Product Great Price and service...... Cheers. Peter ,F.... Martini Swing.

Sharp, steady, smooth sound: excellent overall
10 June 2020

The Rode m2 microphone is excellent... It's well-made, has a great sound whether for a live performance or in a studio, podcast, voice over, etc. It has a sharp, steady, smooth sound… if you use it with a moderate gain and not too close to the microphone, you get a natural sound similar to Shure’s Sm7b, and actually it’s like Rode nt1’s younger brother but with a boxier sound that could be much improved with a bit of editing and EQ.Even with the small membrane that the condenser has, it’s quite powerful and doesn’t make any notable noise… it comes with great accessories and… well, it’s a Rode!!

Solid quality performance
8 July 2020

Ive tried some of the most expensive live vocal mics on the market including the high-end Shure, AKG, Electro-Voice & even Neumann condenser hand-helds. For my voice, the clarity, dynamic range & feedback rejection of the Rde M2 actually wins out over each of these!!! Its also (unbelievably) only a small fraction of the price of its competitors & it is Australian to boot. Very impressive!
