Great metal build & attached pop filter. The tightening clamp used to angle the mic could be a little more sturdy for maintaining a good angle of heavy condenser microphones.

As usual, the quality is far superior to all of the products that I've had before. Rode does not disappoint. Works without a hitch and is just of a far higher caliber than all of the other products I've tried before. You get what you pay for!

So far it is performing as I intended. There is a slight hiccup. The mic I have to utilize with this item does not have a threaded base. However it does set well without threading. we will see how the future works for this one

I'm using the Rode shock mount (SM6) with Rode mic boom (PSA1) and Rode Procaster mic. Unfortunately, even when I reversed the direction of the mic holder, the extendible arm on the shock mount doesn't extend far enough for the pop filter to sit straight and far enough away from the mic capsule. Rode website says the SM6 is compatible with Procaster, but in practice it's not.
Got this to mount my Rode NT2-A mic. It was a toss-up between this and the SM2, which came out years ago. Decided to go with this one because the SM6 is metal and the SM2 appears to be hard plastic. Turns out the SM6 is manufactured in the PRC, while the SM2 appears to be made in Australia, home of Rode. I would have preferred not to support outsourcing to a country with lower labor-law standards, but the metal does seem more durable... Chalk it up to one of those moral dilemmas we face as consumers.
Bought an NT1-A at a pawn shop. No mount was included. This was exactly what I needed to complete the 'set'.
Screw mount fits my Rode NT-USB Microphone. Although it interferes with the knobs and headphone jack, that is minor, everything else is good.
The cap that screws onto the mic stand can pivot, but you have to turn the screw VERY hard in order to make it tight enough so that the weight of the unit and the mic don't cause it to sag down. There should be MUCH more friction on this pivot, so that it locks in place with only a moderate tightening of the screw.
This is a very nice package for the mic. My only gripe is that there is no instructions re installing the mic onto the shockmount. While not hard to figure out it can be a bit uncertain for a newbie like me. For the price it is an excellent deal.
One thing you don't want is vibrations coming back up the mic stand. Another thing you don't want is someone popping the mic.The Rode SM6 Shock Mount prevents both and handles the weight of the NTK very nicely.
