Why did I give it 5 stars? It does what it's supposed to do, The plug is nice quality and is a 90 degree jack so doesn't protrude unnecessarily. The swinging rubber foot is a nice touch. It comes in a sturdy box with instructions. I can't suggest any improvements so what is there to criticise or deduct stars?

It's the good old DP-10. Perfectly reliable. The bottom is excellent: it's stable and doesn't slide on the floor. Note that some Roland digital pianos come with it, so you don't always need to buy one separately. #sweepstakes

The single greatest keyboard footpedal you could ask for. Feels exactly like a real piano pedal would and the rubber mat that folds out is perfect for not losing your pedal as you play. Very well made and feels high quality. The action is perfect and my order was deliver very quickly

Ironically, I tested this pedal but can't use it. The switch action is normally closed and my Casio requires normally ope. However, I connected the "half pedal" action and it was very linear and felt good. I've used the previous version of this for years that was just a switch for years and love it
It was reported by users that earlier versions of this pedal suffered from an inability to maintain a constant zero level without some form of manual modification to the pedal itself, but I can testify that this wasn't the case with the one I purchased in 2022. I specifically measured the continuous and on/off modes and found no fault. Very happy indeed. In continuous mode, the travel is perfect for delicate half damper, and the non-slip rubber fold out attached to the base ensures the pedal won't be scooting across the floor, even on the smoothest of surfaces. In my opinion, this is the best sustain pedal for the price.
I bought the DP-10 for use with a Roland FP-30X Digital Piano. When I first purchased the FP-30X, I was on the fence about buying the DP-10. I gave the included DP-2 a shot first to see how it performed. Coming from having played acoustic pianos exclusively, the DP-2 just couldn't compare to the experience of a "real" pedal. While the DP-2 feels extremely good for a plastic damper pedal, the DP-10 is leagues better if emulating the experience of an acoustic piano is the goal. The ability to half-pedal and to maintain continuity when pedaling are two things that stick out to me in terms of what the DP-10 offers over the DP-2.The DP-10 appears quite a hefty. The ability to half-pedal and to maintain continuity when pedaling are two things that stick out to me in terms of what the DP-10 offers over the DP-2.The DP-10 appears quite a hefty. It feels great under the foot and firmly planted on the floor. The pedal is metal. The black shell is entirely plastic, but it feels like premium plastic. It feels as premium as the plastics that make up the body of the FP-30X. The rubber base feels durable and substantial, and nice to the touch. It does scratch easily though, so I expect that it will be significantly scuffed up through the life of the product. The cable is a nice length and terminates at at 90 degree plug, which makes a lot of sense when paired with the FP-30X since the jack is on the backside of the piano. The cable itself is not coiled circularly like the product picture, so that's a bit of a drawback to me. Instead, it's scrunched up like the way a lot of electronic cables are usually packaged. In contrast, I really liked that the DP-2's cable was circularly coiled so that it made cable management very easy and neat, and in general more canonical to how audio cables are usually packaged and stored. The entire pedal and black shell assembly sits on top of a metal base that seems to hold it all together. The box that the DP-10 came in is pretty nice too. I'm a fan of the pastel orange, nicely complementing Roland's branding and orange square.Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.
Brand new pedal . . . squeaks . . . disappointing.Generally I love Roland products and usually buy Roland, but this brand new pedal was disappointing.
I just tested it, and the half pedal feature works better than I expected. It seems like it only works on the piano sounds, though. This is not a problem. There is a switch on the side of the pedal to turn off the effect if you don't like/need it.
I had heard many good things about this pedal, but it is much better than expected. The bottom weight and rubber makes it so it doesn't move on any surface, and if thats not enough there's a rubber portion that swings out so you can rest your heal on it. The feedback is just right as well.I'm sure some of you reading this bought your FP10 from Costco like I did, and paid around $600. Is the DP10 really worth almost 10% of what you paid for? Absolutely! It makes your piano playing that much better (especially compared to that Mexican jumping bean they call the DP2).Protip: you need to switch the pedal to continuous out of the box. If you're using with any Roland product, you should do this.
I have a FP-30x digital piano. The included pedal is an analog one, and FP-30x doesn't work with another Roland 3-pedal unit. Therefore I purchased this one. It works great. Has option for analog or continues. Much improvement from the included one.
