When quality counts but budget is a factor, the FP-30X is the sweet spot of Roland’s FP-X series. Balancing affordability with superior performance, this slim and stylish portable piano builds on the entry-level FP-10 with an enhanced sound engine, more powerful onboard speakers, and increased polyphony. Featuring Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano technology and the same expressive 88-note PHA-4 Standard keyboard as the premium FP-60X, the FP-30X is the perfect home instrument for seasoned players. And with its easy-to-transport weight and Bluetooth connectivity for lessons and play-along audio, it’s an ideal choice for any pianist who wants to develop their skills or perform at small events. Forget the lightweight keyboards on typical mid-price portable pianos—with a single key strike on the PHA-4 Standard keyboard, you’ll instantly know the FP-30X stands above the rest. With 88 full-size keys, this piano allows for a complete range of expression as your technique and composition skills grow. And with hammer action, escapement, and ivory feel, you’ll enjoy the same touch beneath your fingers as a great acoustic instrument, right down to the subtle “click” feel as you depress a key. Behind the authentic feel and playability is Roland’s powerful SuperNATURAL sound engine, picking up all the nuances of experienced pianists and helping newer players develop more character and dynamics. The FP-30X’s powerful onboard stereo speakers deliver surprising power and character during performance, complementing the sound engine to further bring out the expression in your playing. And if you ever need more sound coverage, simply connect external powered speakers via the dedicated output jacks. For home practice, try the dedicated mode that adjusts the sound for optimum quality when the FP-30X is placed on a desktop, or connect headphones to the twin outputs for silent practice day or night, either solo or alongside your piano teacher.

The delivery and timing was super fast! The product is in good condition. It's a great keyboard ! I still have to figure it all out. The pedal that's shown on the picture isnt working as I expected it to though. Not sure if that's on my part. Other than that the piano is great!

I purchased the keyboard after my Steinway B was destroyed by Hurricane Ian in Sanibel FL, to tide me over until I can get a replacement acoustic piano. A good choice? weighted keys, some bells and whistles but not too many, sleek design. The package with stand, headphones, and pedal ? best price anywhere. Easy to use app with iPhone.

Adorama had the best price and it included some extra equipment that came in quite useful! Shipping was very fast and everything was packaged perfectly! The piano plays beautifully and I especially love the Bluetooth feature for syncing to my phone. I highly recommend this Roland and also Adorama for any purchases you may need to make through them! Very happy!

Probably one of the best entry-level digital piano under $1,000. Sounds beautiful with 2 headphone jacks and USB to connect to a laptop. Powerful speakers and a nice keybed makes it more attractive. The only downside is it's not compatible with RPU-3 triple padel. The three-pedal addon works with this is KPD-70, but that has a bigger footprint and only works with a desktop-like stand.
As a complete beginner after a lot of research I chose the Roland FP 30X. Im glad I did as it sounds beautiful. People say the volume is not great due to speakers on the underside facing down but I have no problem with that and it is sitting on a flat unit on a low sound level. Very easy to connect the Bluetooth for interactive online learning. I have yet to fully investigate all the other possibilities through the Roland app as at the moment it is the sound and actually learning to play that is most important for me. Andertons also had the most competitive price so 100% chuffed with my purchase which I hope to enjoy for many years.
Due to the pandemic, the shipment of my FP-30X was delayed for months. During this time, I decided to get another credit card and use it to get a $200 bonus. In doing so, I needed to change the credit card used to purchase the FP-30X from Adorama. The keyboard became available just as I was in the process of switching the credit card to pay for the keyboard and, as a result, it was lost to another buyer and another FP-30X had to be ordered. Since I now had more months to wait for my keyboard, I had plenty of time to watch ALL the various reviews on the Roland FP-30X in comparison to the FP-30 (that it replaced), as well as comparisons to it's closest Kawai, Yamaha & Casio equivalents. I really am very happy with this digital piano. It does everything it says on the box. You plug it in and play it. It sounds really lovely, I am no sound expert but it is definitely as good as the reviews. I am enjoying playing it and the musicality of its expressiveness. The weighted action of the keys and the feel of them under your finger tips are like velvet. I have no interest in downloading the Roland apps as I only wanted a piano I could play without the hassle of the internet! Call me old fashioned, that's fine by me. The volume control and other light pushes of buttons to alter the type of piano sound and a few other benefits for those who want to play with a teacher is great. The need for electricity is about as complicated as I wanted it to get. Worth ... MoreI really am very happy with this digital piano. It does everything it says on the box. I also received fabulous friendly service and well written emails and the process of ordering online was easy. With love, Lorraine...
This thing is awsome. It allows me to work in Ableton 11 with no issues and you can even use the speakers in the roland for the sound output. The phone app to change the setting via bluetooth is unreal. If you were to use the app for learning music you would have to use a tablet as it is difficult to see and will not let you enlarge it on your phone. to connect to the midi you just you a printer cable and attach it to a usb port on your computer. you should be able to find it in your DAW. hope this helps
