When I started learning how to play at 9, I had this antique Kohler & Campbell upright piano. It was old enough to have ivory keys and that beast was simply too heavy to take with me when I moved out. I'd left it in my parents house and decided to buy a keyboard instead. The problem was I was used to that beautiful old piano and needed something that had a similar feel to the keys. Something that my teacher's grand piano and every keyboard I'd previously encountered lacked.The texture of the keys and sensitivity was what attracted me to other Roland models but this one sounds simply amazing, especially for the price. Though it's not a traditional acoustic piano, the FP-30X, with the easy to assemble stand and pedals, is a perfect fit into my life.

I love the sound of Roland Pianos, I have an RD-300NX in my studio. I picked up the FP-30X at my local Guitar Center because it is light weight and I can carry it to gigs without breaking my back, same sounds and action as the RD-300NX. We do 15 or more gigs a month and sometimes only have 10 minutes to set up between bands, and it fits in the back seat of my car. I am on and off the stage in less than 5 minutes. This is the perfect piano for a student or a giging musician.

I had been saving up for and researching Roland FP-X series of digital pianos for several months and finally settled on the 30x after playing it and falling in love. I had to wait even longer because this bundle in white was sold out everywhere but finally it was restocked at BH and I didn't hesitate. This bundle is a great value, the bench and stand and pedal are sturdy and high quality, shipping was fast, and I have not been able to stop playing ever since it arrived. The Roland Piano App is very nice to use with it too. Time to get back to practice!

I waited a month for the white version of this keyboard to ship and it was well worth the wait. This looks really slick in my studio and the features are incredible for the price. I went with this keyboard over the competitors because of the I/O ports (I sometimes connect this to my desktop for Ableton sessions via MIDI) and the key action. It honestly feels better than my 20 year old Yamaha Clavinova DP, which is what I learned on. But as far as the negatives go, I do not like the non-labeled sounds (you have to use the app or hold the shift key/press a note on the keyboard to hear a different sound). And I am not a fan of the bounce back. It feels a little sluggish and not what I am used to. I hope overtime I get used to it, but this is something worth noting.
To the guy saying clicking keys. This is actually normal and very common on electric keyboards almost every single keyboard will have that "issue" there are other keyboard that are worse and some better. Also if you were to hear what a keybed sound like on a real grand piano it's extremely loud and probably more loud than any electric piano. You just don't hear it while playing a real acoustic.Key noise is normal. Overall would recommend this piano to anyone looking for the most realistic action in this price point
As a complete beginner after a lot of research I chose the Roland FP 30X. Im glad I did as it sounds beautiful. People say the volume is not great due to speakers on the underside facing down but I have no problem with that and it is sitting on a flat unit on a low sound level. Very easy to connect the Bluetooth for interactive online learning. I have yet to fully investigate all the other possibilities through the Roland app as at the moment it is the sound and actually learning to play that is most important for me. Andertons also had the most competitive price so 100% chuffed with my purchase which I hope to enjoy for many years.

The keyboard has a lovely action, in my opinion - I've seen couple of comments that it's quite a heavy action, but I don't find it so - just nicely weighted.It's worth reading the instructions carefully first time, and I find myself referring to them when trying something new, as there are quite a lot of options and the programming needs care.I like the songs very much, especially the various pianos, which I use the most. Great first digital piano!Very minimalist controls (which does mean I haven't explored them very much - but hey, the Piano and Electric Piano sounds are fab.)As reviews mention, the action is high. (I'm a beginner so don't have a lot to compare it to, but yes, it does feel harder to sound the keys than on others I've tried.)Bit of plastic creaking noise occasionally when you play, possibly from the attached music stand.This is better with the accompanying wooden stand than with an off-brand Z-stand, I found.
