Most people may not read the manual I suggest that's the first thing Todo. There is so much control you have over how keyboard responds. I hooked it up to some powered speakers I Love It.

I came to PMT Portsmouth and had a really attentive, thorough guide to buying my new keyboard. In the end I saw the B stock FP90X at a decent price… the call customer service operator arranged to get me photos, reassured me about the returns policy for online sales etc and I was confident to purchase.I was amazed that this arrived by courier literally the next day. Couldn’t be more pleased overall

Roland’s technology has made this the best digital piano for any player. I am a pianist with a Steinway baby grand and got this digital model take with me for practicing. Sound and features are amazing. My research paid off, I highly recommend this model.

Have been playing a DGX-650 for 8 years now and decided I wanted to get more serious with my piano playing. The action on this piano is amazing, and extremely quiet especially in comparison to my old digital. Having ocd, the ivory texture on the keys is much appreciated and infinitely more pleasing to look at than glossy white. The texture also helps with playing if your hands get a tad sweaty like mine do.The speakers on this piano are fantastic and are kind of overkill for the room I have it in. I've only ever had them at full volume once to test it and surpisingly the speakers didnt peak at all (that I could notice). I very much like having the extra headroom for volume so I don't have to worry about pushing the speakers too hard or blowing them.I mainly ... MoreHave been playing a DGX-650 for 8 years now and decided I wanted to get more serious with my piano playing. The action on this piano is amazing, and extremely quiet especially in comparison to my old digital. I very much like having the extra headroom for volume so I don't have to worry about pushing the speakers too hard or blowing them.I mainly play the piano tones and personally love the modeling engine on this piano. To be fair I haven't tried many digital pianos so this might be common but the simulating of resonance is one of my favorite parts about the piano tones. This is pretty much the most expensive portable digital you can buy so I shouldn't be too surprised but I personally love the tone lf this piano. Nothing compares to the real thing but the sound comes close enough for me. I also quite like the e-piano tones.Overall I love this piano (so far) and don't have any problems with it. The build quality is amazing, and the minimalist design is utilitarian but also pleasing to look at, which is partly what drew me to the fp series of pianos. I've found that, because of the action and sound, I actually have been wanting to play more as of getting this piano. If you can afford this piano and are looking to upgrade I couldn't recommend this piano more.
The keybed on this piano is great. The internal sounds are very good and the internal speaker is very loud. Overall a great experience and a pleasure to play.
I have been playing piano for years. This piano is great for practicing, makes singing along with the microphone input a lot of fun. Easy to use with loads of voices to chose from in any music style. I find myself practicing longer and having more fun playing everyday. I got the piano with the matching stand and pedal board in black. It was easy to set up and looks great!
Great instrument by a great company and the BandH deliveries. It it doesn't matter which stage you are at as a pianist you won't outgrow this digital piano. It's all anyone could ask for and more. You'll be amazed when you sit down and play this instrument and everyone else will wowed when they hear it. Thanks Roland, and thank you B&H for your service to me since 1979.
Fantastic piano worth the money - a minor point the casing on one end is not quite flush and also I hear a phantom note occasional when I have finished playing may be a loose connection to the speaker seems to happen when it has been played for a while. Called PMT to discuss and was advised to reset to factory setting and so far this seems to have worked just hoping it doesn’t come back.
I've tried all settings and environments but the sound simply doesn't get near an acoustic sampling like that one you can hear on earlier Rolands - the F9 for instance. The speakers and key action are fine, but the sound is not. The piano might pass muster for R&R and techno but for classical and jazz it's sub-optimal. I am looking for better analog-like sound if anyone has a suggestion.
The PHA-50 action is awesome, and this keyboard is the least expensive one I could find that has that action. It's a very solid build, with everything you could ask for from a keyboard/controller. You could use it for gigging, but it's pretty heavy for that: I have it set up as a controller at home, and only use the internal sounds casually. I find that the speakers sound better if the keyboard is against a wall, but if you're using it as a controller, that's not really an issue. I'm super happy with my purchase, this keyboard will serve me well for many years to come!
