Very good sound for my needs. Piano is for private use only, am not a performer. I use it on the lowest sound with the headphones and that is fine. Only used the grand piano mode. Have heard the jazz style and organ modes. They sound very good but I probably won't need to use them much. Haven't heard other options. I am delighted with it. Piano is streamlined and easy to store. The power lead is not very long but I assume it could be used with an extension lead. The 61 keyboard is adequate for most music but I will probably eventually use the octave changing facility. All in all I am very happy with this purchase.

If you are looking for a compact keyboard the Roland Go Piano 61 Is probably the best around. The full size keys terminate at the end of the cabinet which aids its compactness. The multitude of sounds are good and the keyboard, although not weighted, needs a fair bit of pressure which avoids fluffed notes which can happen with less experienced players using light keyboards. It has Bluetooth connection but beware. If you want to connect it to an iPad it has an unplayable latency. The way round this is to not use Bluetooth but connect it via an interface. I use a Hyper Drive which cost around £60 and this allows me to use it with Garage Band. You can use the Bluetooth wireless connection to play stuff into the Roland - if you should want to do such a thing! I purchased this 88 key weighted keyboard in November for a little under $3,000. Its absolutely stunning, it’s sound is top of the line. It has over a 1000 different programed sound options. You don’t need to be hooked up to a computer to use. You do need an AMP, no built in speakers, but you want that when buying a keyboard to get a better sound. It has a built in metronome and is perfect for both beginners and experts. I highly recommend this keyboard.

Good for Getting Back to the Keyboard

I hated, hated, hated piano as a kid - five years of hair-pulling and crying finally dissipating after, well more than four decades. Was not sure I was going to enjoy getting back to the keyboard, but this sounds good and feels fine for someone not planning on taking over the keyboards for, now to truly show my age, The Moody Blues. I am running it through a couple of guitar amps, so the sound is bigger and crunchier than if I was just using the built-in speakers. It keeps the cat, and the cat's hair, out of the room!

Good for what it is!

I'm an experienced musician with a home studio, but I'm not very advanced as a keyboard player. I just needed something with a few good sounds to add depths to some of my recordings and this fit the bill. The most important thing to me is that you can easily tune it to whatever project you are working on, or you can easily drop it down a half step or a full step with the transpose feature. Where it could be better would be a couple 1/4 inch stereo outputs-just one headphones mini jack is available, and that is kind of cheesy. The vocal sounds have a couple doo's and doot's, but that would have been much more helpful as oooh's instead. All in all though, sounds great and it has a nice weight on the keys for a cheap keyboard.

Great for beginners

I picked up playing the piano again after almost 20 years and this is the perfect instrument for people who have some experience of playing. The sound is very good and I look forward to playing every day. Great value for money. It does feel more plastic-y than expected though.

I Love My GO:Piano

I would have loved a digital piano with weighted keys but I neither wanted, nor needed, a full size 88 note keyboard. Unfortunately nothing smaller is available with a proper key action so realised that this would mean a compromise. The keyboard in the GO:Piano is a remarkable achievement by Roland's engineers. It must be as close as you can get to the real thing without using a weighted action. OK so it's not fully authentic but then the whole instrument weighs under 4kg. so there is a payoff in that respect. I'd say it is more like the feel of playing a clavichord. Not a true acoustic piano feel, but then neither is it spongy and springy like most electronic keyboards. The touch sensitivity is good and allows for very expressive playing. It would certainly help build finger strength prior to moving on to a real piano, if that is what you want to do. As for the sound, I'd say the default 'GoGrand' is very realistic indeed, a real winner. The other piano voices are all variations on a theme, either more muffled or metallic, but they offer variety. The Ragtime piano sound however is quite delightful, very authentic and something none of the competition seem to offer. Of the other voices available, they vary tremendously between quite good (church organ) and absolutely dreadful (accordion). Mostly they are OK and the 'Jazz Scat' voice is good fun, the main problem I have with the organ sounds is that the bass is a little overshadowed by the treble, the volume balance isn't quite right for me. The controls are beautifully simple and well laid out. They are intuitive and easy to use with no need to constantly refer to the manual to see which combination of buttons and keys do what. It's also very easy to link to a computer, either through USB to Windows or via Bluetooth to my android tablet, opening up many further possibilities. Of the overall design I have two fairly minor criticisms: The ends of the casing could extend higher to afford some protection to the end keys when carrying it around. I fear the front lip of the key could catch on something and cause serious damage. There is no effective way of holding a music book open. The music rest needs a deeper ridge at the front or some sort of clip, I have resorted to using clothes pegs. Overall I am very pleased with my GO:Piano, I think it is a brilliant instrument. It feels very solid and well made indeed, and it is a pleasure to play.

It's a £250 keyboard, so I wasn't expecting the perfect feel of a real piano but the keyboard feel is about right for a beginner - it gives enough feedback without being vague or over firm. I was very impressed with the default piano sounds, particularly in the midrange. The highest and lowest Cs aren't so good but that's possibly a limitation of the small speakers, which I'd describe as adequate. There are plenty of other voices to keep life interesting. Roland Go Piano 61

Well featured product. Easy to use. Light and portable. I bought Go Piano 61 to play piano anywhere on battery power and to use as a wireless midi controller. Excellent on board sounds. WIDI has no noticeable latency. Action is a little stiff and bouncy (nothing like a good digital piano} but pretty good considering it's an unweighted and non-hammer action keyboard. Headphone socket is in the wrong place (middle back instead of at either end) so the lead trails over the keys. Speakers are lacking bass end but worth having for when no amplification or headphones available. Excellent keyboard for my needs.

She just wants to play acoustic and electric pianos. She likes the full sized piano style keys and she needed something lightweight. The GO:Piano covers all of that and more. This bundle comes with the sustain pedal as well as some apps and beginner lesson plans, along with the built in songs from the Faber piano method book.
