I've worked with countless indie artists and companies covering all music genres.For years I've been a huge fan of Roland products from early groovebox to Fantom workstations.This new addition to the groovebox family is nothing short of production perfection.Loaded with all the sounds you'll ever need, feature rich, and easy to use.Whether step recording or live this little box is a production dream tool.I love the portability. It allows me to basically take my production on the road eliminating the need for a room full of gear and instruments. The icing on the cake is the ability to drop vocals and the master your projects down to broadcast quality songs ready for distribution.Roland has a winner here! ??

Let me start off by saying that this is the first ever drum machine that I've owned for myself and I absolutely love what this thing can do. The biggest takeaways for me personally is the Zen core sound engine that it uses, the ability to record and mix vocals with plugging in a quality XLR mic (and also built-in mic), and the flexibility with creating patterns. I've had this for only a few days, but from an initial standpoint, this is one of the best investments I ever made as a hiphop/electronic music maker. I’m fortunate to already have one of these and it’s really a fantastic piece of kit. The onboard microphone is not really useful for actual vocal recording, but great for quickly getting down lyrics. I love the versatility and once you’ve gotten familiar with the work flow the music comes easily. I recommend to anyone who wants a portable 8track with all of rolands epic sounds onboard.

Workflow is similar to my MC-101, but the sound processing is incredible. It's an excellent design, I like having the sequencing steps laid out and always available. Built in mic is good enough to work with too.
I wanted to buy this item and had it put on a "waiting list" on another site. I didn't think it was going to drop (the price), when I saw it, I immediately bought it without hesitation. It was well worth it!!! Great product from Roland. There are a bunch of products similar to the VERSELAB MV-1 Music Workstation, but I recommend this one. I thought it was going to be more complicated to work but it is not. I really enjoy using it!!! Thanks.
Great product in that it focuses the user on workflow. I like workflow that generates the desired deliverable at the end. It is my hope that this allows me to stay in songwriting mode, and spend less focus on audio engineering -- to stay more creative. There is a little learning curve to get to that point, but I'm sure it will provide that ability. I was concerned that as a keyboardist, I could plug my keyboard in, to get a better performance into clips: that is the case, and I am able to play on my favorite midi keyboard.
Still trying to make it work with my set up. The documentation needs to have more detail about the MIDI implementation and the audio driver support.

It is great and works perfectly. It responds well and no delays.
