This little box packs big punch. I recommend this to ANYONE trying to enhance, autotune, use a vocoder or just add melodies or more thickness to their vocals. Or simply to just change their voice. One of the best features is the vocoder in my opinion. Awesome plugged into a keyboard, or just on it's own, this box is great, especially for it's price point. If you're debating, buy one. It will not disappoint.

I’m still figuring it out but feel like it’s a great product that I will learn to utilize well eventually.It’s a little strange there is only XLR in but 1/4 line out. I usually don’t really like to interact with the engineer beyond what’s your name and thanks- and not being able to plug their xlr for the house mic in wasn’t what I expected.Anyway for COVID times and just using with my interface for live streams, it’s a crowd pleaser.The midi feature is great. The mic sense is also good.

In their attempt to make this super-intuitive, I think they should have still included a much more detailed manual. Simple things like "hold this button, while pressing another" are not clear in the manual. The device sounds great, but I'm still trying to get the harmonies / sounds that I am imagining and the device isn't the easiest to find those sounds. Think of it like an Apple product: once someone shows you how to make the settings, it makes sense. But, until then, you will be stumbling around.
Very nice work here Roland! I've always wanted to be able to add my own vocals to my production, but was not blessed with the voice to be able to do so. Luckily, Roland made the VT3 and then improved and updated it with the VT4. I really love this device. First of all, it sounds phenomenal. The sound quality is great and maintains it's resolution while processing your vocal with every effect possible. The design of the interface is pretty much perfect too. No nesting menus or confusing sequences of buttons to get the sound you want. It's all right there for you on the panel. Easy connectivity, MIDI input, and a sleek look makes for a nice addition to my setup. Highly recommend!
I would have rated 5 stars, except for midi control of pitch bend and no vibrato.I’ve got round these problems by controlling via midi from my sequencer track, which I have entered revised pitch bend values, and used frequent +200/-200 pitch bend values to simulate vibrato.My efforts will be appearing on my YouTube channel from mid-July 2020 if you wish to hear the VT-4 in action. https://youtu.be/uoYu9igK5KQ
I have yet to get this unit to provide any usable harmony effects, which do not correlate with the pitch of my voice (I am a professional vocalist). Any attempt to get Roland to aid in troubleshooting or providing other technical information must be accomplished by email, and they don't answer lickety-split, either. There is no technical chatroom online, nor is there a phone number to call for advice from the support people. Totally unsatisfactory.
I need flexibility with a unit that was not a floor model. The VT-4 gives me that and more! Harmonies and effects have professional reproduction qualities. Very glad I found this processor.
I think I've solved the harmony problem. I don't know how I did it, but they sound better. I'm now trying to score an AC Adapter, which allows you to plug the unit into a wall outlet. I've left a message for the Roland Techs for more information. Things are looking up!
