I've been gaming for 40+ years and have played hundreds of different games with a heavy bent towards wargames and euros. Root is a superb game, the mechanics are novel, the assymetry is a real change from most Euros and makes for infinite replayability and challenges, the rules are very well thought out and the layout of the player boards makes what could be a relatively complex game, really streamlined. Excellent components and art enrich the already strong thematics built into the various factions. All this is topped off with first class service from gamekings. Both the game and the kings are highly recommended.

This expansion is perfect for people who don't have high player count on their games. Thanks to this expansion I managed to play with other factions that have less reach. You can even play solo or with friends coop against the automaton. Highly recommended.

Amazing game

It's fun packed in a box. It's like D&D turned into in a board game, with cards instead of dice and DM. Takes time to unbox and set up (huge amount of token and cards), but this is fun too. Quality of parts is top notch. Gameplay is amazingly designed. You can choose how much you role play, but you can definitively role play if you want. Feels like a campaign setting for D&D.

Great game.

Still haven't played the game but played jaws of the lion and it was awesome. When I got mine, the box was bit teared up (fixed it with tape), definitely was the fault of the post. To conclude, if you have time and friends to play with I definitely recommend.

This helps balance out the game at lower player counts. Also expands the solo mode.

An essential expansion if you happen to be short a player. The balance of the game is restored with the clockwork automata. Relatively simple to play, makes a huge difference to the enjoyment of the game.
