Best boots ever.. when working...

I bought these boot in the middle of 20/21 ski season, and it was a life change for me. I came from a hot country, so you can imagine that while skiing my feet would always be cold.I used for 1 season and a half and to my totally surprise the boots didn't work anymore! The left foot doesn't charge even after almost 24h.I opened a claim at Backcountry and I am still waiting any kind of return on how to fix it or an exchange.

By the end of the 2022 season, the liners were shredded and felt like skiing on bunched up socks. I showed them to multiple boot fitters, all of whom were shocked by the extent of the damage and said they'd think twice about selling these. One of them said "these look like boots with 250+ days on them." Another said they'd seen another customer with the same issue.I tried to keep using them this season (22/23) since I paid a good chunk of change for them. On my third day out, the middle buckle SNAPPED when I tried to tighten. Plus, I noticed the velcro had separated from the strap.I really really liked these boots before they were ruined, but spending this much on a boot to have it fall apart in 2 seasons is unacceptable.I purchased them through a local boot shop (Sports LTD in Ventura, CA). After speaking with Rossignol directly on the customer service line, Rossi said they wouldn't refund or provide credit towards new boots.I then went back to the local shop. The shop has been continuously working with Rossignol to try to get me a warranty, but after 6+ weeks of effort, they have received no definitive response. When my skier friends ask what I feel about the experience, I've been telling them that more than the damaged boots, I'm upset about how Rossignol has handled this.Rossignol, if you are reading these, please reach out. Even worse than the boots breaking was the customer experience following, and I'd like to see that fixed. I don't like being taken advantage of as a consumer, especially by companies I previously liked. And, as a point of reference, my husband bought his boots (a competing brand) at the same time I did. His are still in near-perfect shape.Very disappointed.

Don't waste your time!

Very good boot for an intermediate to advance skier. Good balance between comfort and performance, however the positives end there. The heater element is complete junk. Worked well for the first outing, after that the left boot lost its charge. Can't get it to turn on or take a charge. Right boot has now done the same thing. Customer service from Rossignol or Therm-ic is nonexistent. Save yourself my aggravation and heat your boot with hottronics or thermic's socks......

FAIL!!

Installed the Thermic app and paired the heaters. Confirmed they worked as described. Unfortunately, my first day on the mountain 3 weeks later:1. The app constantly disconnects from the heaters. Sometimes I could reconnect but mostly:2. Bluetooth can locate the heater signal but when I try to pair it, BT claims there isn't an app on the phone to connect them to them, even though the app is installed.3. If I try to use the app to connect the blue tooth, I get "no product found" error message even though Bluetooth detects it.4. Now one heater won't turn on at all so I can't even control them manually.5. Tried reinstalling the app and rebooting the phone but that doesn't help. Thermic MUST know their app and heaters are undependable but it and Rossignol continue promoting and selling this defective/inferior product to unsuspecting customers.Fortunately REI has a 1 year even if worn policy so back the boots will go next week unless Thermic or Rossignol has a solution and both warranty that if the heaters fail during the 2022 ski season I will get a 100%

FAIL!! Avoid this boot!
7 February 2021

Heater and the app that is supposed to control it don’t work as described. App constantly loses Bluetooth connection which requires user stop to reconnect, though reconnecting may not work either. Bluetooth may not pair because it can’t detect the device or if it does, it doesn’t “see” the app on the phone. Using the app to connect may result in “ device not found” error message even if Bluetooth finds it. To add additional insult to injury, one of the boot heaters stopped turning on at all. The above occurred 3 weeks after purchase and the first time I used them on the slopes on a ski vacation. The reviews on the Thermic app are abysmal yet Rossignol and Thermic keep selling this inferior product and worthless app. They actually charge MORE than for the ... MoreHeater and the app that is supposed to control it don’t work as described. Nice Piece of Kit
10 February 2023

I bought the boot for my wife about 3 years ago. It didn't have the BT arrangement. However, the button works just fine. She's always had it on the constant red light (high) since using them. That staying on High would lead to burns is a bit of hyperbole; at least for this 3-year-old tech boot. More modern tech maybe so. On the coldest of days, she still gets cold, but her toes don't get numb anymore. The batteries seem to be in good shape after the four hours she skies twice a week during the season. She says they're the most comfortable boots she's ever worn. Happy wife-happy life. :-))

Nice but still needs some improvements
22 February 2022

Nice but still needs some work.Pros:Top of feet and ankle stay warmEasy to chargeWool linedQuality claspsTulip shapeCons:I can feel the heating element protrude through the boot lining and it digs into my upper ankle/low calfDespite tulip shape, still too tight around calf. I am short and yet only 130lbs so while my calves may be a little thick, I'm not overweight. No heat on the bottom of my foot. I get cold very easy and ski in cold temps (below zero with windchill) and am disappointed that there isn't a heating element in the sole of the boot so I still have to wear toe warmers which defeats the point of this purchaseA bit stiff for me but that may be because I am a advanced beginner/intermediate skiier

Sadly I loved the idea of these boots but I would not recommend them.Only one boot heater ever worked right from the beginning and I only wore them so few times.I did call about getting them fixed but got the runaround and then of course as ski season is short the warranty was only a year.As I live part time in Aspen no one would fix them and and I paid to have them looked at a few times but with no success. Not reliable in my experience.

Pure Pleasure for Cold Days Skiing!!
14 December 2019

I had skiied with these boots for 3 days so far. 20° weather, 40° rainy weather and 25° snowy weather and each day they did not disappoint, they preformed spectacular. I charged the batteries each night , a setting of 2 was fine to keep my toes warm for each day. The boot preformed well also. The stiffness was comparable to the Rossignol Alltrak 110 Pro that I had just used previously. I believe the boot to ski contact made me feel more in control than my old boots, maybe because it was time for a new pair of boots (I skiied about 100 days plus in the old ones). The fit is comparable to the Alltrak as well as the sole length was the same, so no need to adjust my bindings! What I also like was the sleek fur lining made it easier to get in and out of the boot!
