Have been buying Royal Canin for our previous Retriever Mix. Always bought this product through a local feed store. When we got a new Bernedoodle puppy I couldn’t find the puppy kibble. Second ingredient is chicken fat ? My dog actually doesn't like this food at all. I'm currently changing her over to Purina pro plan which she loves. Regarding the chicken fat I read Alot about bloat in dogs and read the study that was assessing whether soybeans etc contribute to bloat. What they did find was fat listed in the first four ingredients was a contributing factor. There is Alot of misinformation about bloat so I only trust the scientific studies, not anecdotal evidence. Since I have concerns over that, I won't be feeding anymore.

Was previously feeding him Blackhawk Puppy since we took him home at 2mo as that was what he was fed by the breeder. Always noticed frequent and foul smelling (like eggs) fart. The kind of farts that would kill an entire village. :) Fed him BHawk 3 x a day, he didn't have trouble finishing his am (2hrs to finish) & evening feed although he took his time to do it, but struggled to always finish his lunch portion which is only half a cup.After changing to Royal Canin, he's always demolished all 3 feeds in record time (1-2mins) and constantly looking at me for extra servings! :) I've had to increase his lunch serve to a full cup now too. Due to reports of problems with Entirely grain free foods In some canines, my vet recommended against these and mentioned Royal Canin as an alternative. I have a full-size adult standard poodle and a large eleven month old puppy also a standard poodle. Both have liked Royal Canaan products for their respective ages. The puppy is already food driven but shows more enthusiasm about the Royal Canaan product then his prior dried food. His coat and growth are good and he has had less problems with a sensitive stomach and loose Bowel movements. The actual smell of the food is much better and more appetizing then dried food I Used before.
We have been nothing but happy with Royal Canin medium puppy biscuits after our 6 month old groodle suffered with severe diarrhoea on Meals for Mutts puppy biscuits. He is now up to his third bag. So far so good. His stools are nice and firm, don't smell as bad as they did before and the diarrhoea has gone.
Our golden retriever pup absolutely loves this food. Wolfs it down in mere seconds! He's been on this food since the breeder had him and we were recommended to keep him on it if at all possible. He's had absolutely no trouble with it. His tummy is never upset, his stools are firm and he passes bowel movements no problem, several times a day. He's thriving and growing at an alarming rate and his coat is healthy and shiny so it is clearly doing what it's supposed to be! Only thing is it smells quite strong when you're putting it out for him but other than that, cannot fault it! It's excellent value for money and the 15kg bag lasts him about 6 weeks or so. There's plenty of cheaper priced and cheaper made brands of dog food and of course more expensive. We researched what our dog needed in terms of nutrition etc. This was the closest we could find without paying alot more. Our pup loves it, she's regular and no tummy upset with it. She's not begging or looking for food in between meals so it's filling her up. The only thing I don't like and most brands do this, they base the amount on what size dog she will be not what weight she is now. There's a huge range of weight for some breeds like ours a Border Collie so there's a risk of over feeding or under feeding. Otherwise we're happy, she's happy.
