The lights small, durable, light weight, and versital. It has been through many walks in wet and snowy cold weather and is working fine.the device has a metal clip that can fit into the Ruffwear harness handle design for blind travelers. It comes with a optional silicone adaptor that fits on the metal clip. This works well on other items such as my traditional harness handle or white cane. One note, the optional holder open to a limited amount so it will not fit over a large object such as a ball tip cane. You would need to remove the large tip to install.The Audio feedback is clear and easy to understand. Turn it on and hear a ascending tone then some blinks. Turn it off and hear a descending tone. Plug in and it makes a tone. When charged a tone sounds every now and then to let you know it is ready. The sounds are well thought out.One important tip. The charging port can be hard to locate by touch. It is a flip tab on the back behind the metal clip. It took me a long time to find this by feel. Even a sighted helper missed it.I love having the light attached to my dog harness and ready to go. I use it in bad weather situations, travel in dark areas, travel in changing light, and in a few places where the traffic is such I like the extra signal to drivers.It is great to know from the sound that the light is actually working and being seen by those around me.I’m very grateful Ruffwear created this product.

The lights themselves are bright and feel secure on my dogs collars. I can recharge the lights without removing them from the collars. The button and charging port are easily manipulated without looking which makes going out & coming in when it is dark super easy. I love the audible tones especially the 10 minute activity tone. It is really handy when walking my dogs to have the lights emit a tone every 10 minutes to remind me how much time we have been on our walk. If anything I would love the tone to be louder so that it could also serve as a location aid when outdoors. I am thrilled with the idea of having a lighted collar for my dog, but I have difficulty operating the on/off switch. I am elderly, so that may have something to do with my troubles. The light is highly visible at night and having the audible signal helps locating the pup quickly. I highly recommend this item for any dog or cat owner. The fact that you don't have to change batteries is an added bonus.

This product is fantastic. Simple to use, effective, with helpful features I didn’t know I needed. The main of which is that if I forget to shut it off, it’ll beep and remind me. While I’m not blind as the design is intended, this is a worthy tool for both hard of sight and others who want better protection for their dog. Not only that but each ruffwear harness and jacket we have had a special spot for this safety beacon to go which makes life much simpler.
My husband and I both have these audible beacon lights attached to our Seeing Eye dogs' harnesses and absolutely love them! The audible features are very helpful for ensuring proper operation of the light. We highly recommend these lights!
First of all, it was VERY difficult to remove the plastic rubbery piece. Then I discovered you could use barely hear it and I have good hearing. I bought it because I’m disabled so I have a small medical alert service dog. In stores especially crazy stores like Costco people zoom around in their carts and don’t notice her. I bought this for the audio and visual alerts but the sound is way too quiet. I have bought so many Ruffwear products in the past for several dogs and they’re well made but sometimes I think you just cater to young people who climb mountains with their dogs and don’t think about us with service dogs. This device is supposed to be for visually impaired but the sound is barely audible. Well, you asked!
The audible features are very simple to memorize and the button is easy to operate. The video could've been more specific as it did not state that the light has to be removed from the rubber that holds it in place for charging.I bought two, one to have on each handle of the harnass at different positions. Traveling on dark days, nights, or in fog I feel safer with this lights and I love the audible feedback. It takes the guess work out of knowing if it is on, charged etc..
I absolutely love this light. I attached it to my guide dog’s harness and love the audio feedback to confirm it is on or that I have turned it off. It attaches easily to a Guide Dog for the Blind harness. The silicon attachment that holds the light will also hold the standard Beacon light without a problem. The Audible Beacon is red and flashes and there is not an option to change the light to non-flashing or a different color. The sound from the Beacon is clear yet not loud enough to disturb anyone around you. I absolutely love it!
I absolutely love this item. I use the Audio Beacon on my guide dog harness and on my backpack so that we are both well lit up at night and early in the morning. I love the audio indicator that let’s me know the light is done charging, along with when the light is on and off. Kudos to Ruffwear for designing such an inclusive product!
Honestly, I was a little disappointed. the on and off button is hard to use, and I almost never found the bluetooth port! It is also hard to unfasten from the gate part. i LOVE the sounds, and am enjoying using it as long it doesn't have to be recharged! That's the only downside. Thanks for making it and giving guide dog users this wonderful discount. I love the boots and ball from your company!!!
