Bought this thinking it would be an upgrade of my old chef mate slow cooker but this is very cheaply made and is a disappointment. The enamel inner has small uncoated spots inside and out, it also stained weirdly in the edges after one use and wash. The outer unit has only three feet making it unsturdy if even a little weight is put on the sides. This makes washing or stirring annoying. The 'metal' outer is a very thin band that feels flimsy and weakly secured. Short cord. Will return it and find another chef mate. Don't recommend at all.

The BEST THING TO EVER BUY. Roast is the best dinner and the slow cooker is just the best thing to use. I love how it is easy to maintain and use and all instructions are self explanatory. Reasonable price and a reasonable size that can just slip right into your kitchen cupboard easy. YOY HAVE TO GET THIS! trust me you won’t regret,

2nd of these and still not impressed

I got this as a gift from my parents and thought it would be great. How wrong I was. My mum visited once when I was using it and couldn’t how hot it gets on the outside. We couldn’t touch it for for much longer than a spilt second. She decided to take it back even though it was past warranty (I hadn’t realised it shouldn’t get that hot). It was replaced with another of the same model and unfortunately this is exactly the same. The lid is always bubbling away and doesn’t fit well. The control panel clip has broken so now the panel moves around. The metal surround is very flimsy and I wouldn’t trust leaving this for long wothout checking it considering how hot it gets. Excellent cookware, every household should have one. We made seven meals (for 2 people) in one session.

The flavours mature after a day slow cooking and everything tastes so much better. The meat is very tender. Simple to use. Set it and forget it until dinner time.

It’s very versatile in what type of cooking can be done. Puddings through to whole briskets and of course vegetarian curries and ratatouille. It is perfect for level 4 lockdown in Auckland where dinner meals can be sorted in the morning allowing children to be helped with lessons and other activities outside or allow mothers to concentrate on our own work!

Lid doesn’t fit properly

Just bought it from Target Leichhardt as it was on sale $55. The lid doesn’t fit securely so may have to put some tea towels over it. Not sure what it is going to happen when I use it for the first time. My previous slow cooker was a Sunbeam and I used it for over 10 years. Hate to think I wasted $55. Several reviews also mentioned the problem with the lid.

Mine lasted for 14 years!

I'm so relieved to see these are still being sold. I got one 14 years ago before I started having my family and it has been my lifeline. It cost much more to buy back then, so this is a must buy price for what you are getting. The controls are simple to use, the cooking was slow and amazing every meal and easy to wash. It's safe heating as well.

Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker

I brought one of these two years ago i don't t use it that often however now the entire front control panel as come apart from the slow cooker leaving the wires exposed. I am very disappointed with this product i would have expected better quality from Russell Hobbs i can't return it as it is now out of warranty would not purchase again

Very Disappointed

I bought my cooker to replace old cooker that I loved. It's lid does not sit properly and it leaves a strange taste on food. I cleaned , soaked it and scalded it then soaked with vanilla in water. It cooks well but not if you use auto. Not the flavour of my favourite slow cook recipes the taste is not there. Something is wrong but cant resolve what it is. It's not at all well made, to win a prize as best cooker I wonder what the criteria was.

so happy with my slow cooker. Mostly cook all my meals in it. So easy to clean. Family says my cooking greatly improved since using the slow cooker. Wonderful time saver. Great value for price paid.
