I have been putting up with the cheap, 18v drills for too many years. They wouldn't hold a decent charge and would stop completely if put under the slightest stress. I finally relented and bought my new 18v ONE+ Drill Driver. It doesn't miss a beat and is light and comfortable to hold and use. Why did I wait so long!?!

This drill has worked perfectly. As with all Ryobi tools I have purchased, this drill is in the price range that suits most DIYers like myself. I love the fact that so many Ryobi tools run off the same type of battery, meaning I am very portable and can tackle any job, no matter where it is.

The R18DD3 is an 18V member of the One + range, It is a well built, dual speed drill with reversing function. The keyless chuck is easy to use and it takes drill bits up to 13mm. There are 22 different torque settings available. Very happy with the purchase, It is a welcome addition to the tool box and will be very suitable for my requirements and any DIY jobs around the home.
Having owned a cheap cordless drill for some time I got sick of never having a fully charged battery available when it was needed. I decided to purchase the Ryobi One drill driver as I already had 2 other Ryobi tools and am pleased that I can now always have a charged battery to share across my small (but growing) range of tools. The drill has plenty of power for general handyman jobs around the home.
Bought this in 2016 when updating our house. Okay, have to buy addition batteries but the type you need depends on the type of job.Used mine to fit everything from an outdoor post box using a 8mm masonry bit to a 22mm masonry drilling from in to out in a 2020 property with no problem. And everything else in between.Have bought and used many of the attachments all without problem or fault. The battery chargers works well with the quick simple release.A robust tool with affordable attachment's that still works without fault.Has a good variety of attachments and the grip is soft. The colour making it easy to spot in a jumble of tools.I always swore by Black & Decker. Not now.
Love the drill I purchased recently. It’s great around home. Good news was I didn’t need to purchase a battery as well. The beauty of the 18v ONE+ range both the battery’s that cam with the blower and hedge trimmer fit easily into the drill. So I now have three tools and two batteries, that recharge quickly suitable for big and small jobs around the home.
Yes, I own two of these. I use one for drilling and the other for screwing with a battery each. That means I can avoid changing bits so often.Only downsize I have discovered is that the chuck will not hold very small drills of 1.5mm diameter or less.The hammer action is no match for a mains drill if you have really hard bricks or concrete to drill, but for portability and frequent use otherwise great.
I bought this because I've started using my old Ryobi cordless in the garage more and it's getting harder and harder to get clean enough to use in the house. When you're using a drill for DIY in the home you don't want to be getting oily fingerprints everywhere because your tools are covered in schmoo, So, I needed a second "Clean" drill. This one's slightly smaller than my old one, But it feels just as powerful. It's a touch lighter too, So it's not as tiring on the arm when using it for extended periods. It feels like the usual decent Ryobi build quality (High grade DIY, Or mid range pro kit). The redesigned chucks a nice upgrade over the original too, it gives you a much larger area to grab when tightening it up. The price was really good too. If you need a compact drill,.This and a Ryobi One+ battery + charger pack is a good option because Ryobi have put a lot of emphasis on their whole "One battery to fit all the tools" idea, So I believe they'll not be discontinuing their batterys any time soon.
the clutch is useless. on the lowest setting you can prevent the chuck from turning by just holding lightly with thumb and index finger. whats the point of that? on full setting it's still very weak and of little or no use. because of this issue it renders the hammer drill setting and screw setting useless!! so the drill is only any good on the drill setting. very disappointing. have to wonder why something like this is on the market because it's not fit for purpose at all.
