A Battery Chainsaw That Just Works

This chainsaw is a serious bit of kit for the Home Handyman.Would I say this is a commercial level saw? No I wouldn't, but I bought the saw knowing it isn't a commercial grade chainsaw. With that being said, it is still a saw that is serious enough to tackle jobs around the house/hobby farm. It would be great to take on those camping trips or house boat trips where you need to cut up some firewood from fallen trees in the bush.I like that the kit comes with a decent hard case that can carry some maintenance gear for the saw, i.e. Bar Oil, chain sharpening files, etc and also stores the battery. The 6.0A/Hr battery does get some serious cutting done, before needing a Battery Swap or battery recharge. I have the 6 and a couple 4amp batteries that see to work well. ... MoreThis chainsaw is a serious bit of kit for the Home Handyman.Would I say this is a commercial level saw? But the 2.0amp Battery is really not suited.Overall I find myself reaching for this saw in favour of my Petrol Chainsaw (a well known and trusted Brand) of similar Bar size. It is really easy to use for those 10 - 15 minute jobs.

Picked this up to take camping, and debated the 18v and 36v, as well as the size as I was coming from a 20" 57cc two stroke. After the two stroke decided to be a pain to start, went with this 18" 36v unit, and was very happy with the power and size. This made using the chainsaw an absolute breeze. Cut through some decent sized logs, easy to adjust, weight was good too. The only real downside is you will chew a lot of battery, but that's honestly just the nature of the beast, so it's worth having a couple batteries spare. The case and charger were a nice addition, saves the mess as bar oil will always drip a bit after use.

Highly recommended
