The interchangeability of the batteries and the 1600w capacity makes this very useful beyond just the tool site. Camping and outdoor photo/video shoots to power lights and equipment!

Excellent for use in power outages and pure sine wave output means it will power any appliances within the watt rating. In response to the review by Sean below, the reason the Amp rating is half that of the USA version is because our voltage is double that of the USA. The two cancel each other out so the actual power output is exactly the same. I do agree about the lack of bluetooth app though, hopefully it will become available soon.

I have been in the market for a power station for a while and bought this two weeks ago. I have a couple of older batteries and am surprised at what i could get done with this unit.Works best with good high capacity batteries at full charge!

Absolutely love the battery/ non petrol range from Ryobi
This is a great addition to my 36v line-up. I brought it to prepare for major flooding to keep the fridge powered if we lost power. If you already have 36v batteries it's great. Very expensive if you need to buy batteries, pretty reasonable if you already have plenty
I bought this power station after watching several positive USA reviews, however was unaware the Australian model is different. The system is easy to use and not heavy. It looks great and has potential. The USA model is rated at 15 amps, however the Australian is 6.7. The Australian model had a card attached to it saying it is ready for the app. The bluetooth button works however no signal is broadcast. Maybe it needs the app to work. The batteries are expensive and so I only bought 2 x 6 Ah for now. I do not have any other 36v ryobi products, however this is an incentive to get some in the future.Ryobi need a battery special for this product or a discount card for the remaining batteries. If you have bought 2, you get a discount on the remaining 2 as it works out ... MoreI bought this power station after watching several positive USA reviews, however was unaware the Australian model is different. If you have bought 2, you get a discount on the remaining 2 as it works out to be $2100 all up. This is not cheap for 1600 watts and so you are paying for the battery connivence. This power station will be great when camping or during a power failure at home. It is a major let down that Ryobi do not have the app in Australia. I have a number of other Ryobi products which are all really good. I bought this on my past experience of Ryobi products.Maybe Ryobi will sort out the app and promote the product with a discount.
**Important to note this is a very different product to the American 40v powerstation- making it very difficult to find accurate information for the Australian model. After the most recent floods (Feb 2022) I did a lot of research to find a sustainable, affordable power source to run simple appliances in a blackout scenario. There is not alot of info on this power station that answers detailed questions. The staff at Bunnings were awesome and helpful by informing me that I could purchase and return within 30 days if I was unhappy with the performance. I wasn’t happy with the performance, I was even less happy with ryobi customer service (who took 3 weeks to respond to questions, which were simply written: 1) no 2) no 3) similarly to question 1 and 2, no).- The ... More**Important to note this is a very different product to the American 40v powerstation- making it very difficult to find accurate information for the Australian model. After the most recent floods (Feb 2022) I did a lot of research to find a sustainable, affordable power source to run simple appliances in a blackout scenario. There is not alot of info on this power station that answers detailed questions. I think this is a tool that will be great for some people, but it wasn’t the right fit for me.Considering you need to purchase (up to 4) additional batteries the overall cost can be pushed up toward 2500-3k. For that cost, you can purchase a full off grid kit with higher capacity and solar panels. With respect, I found this to be a hyper expensive lithium battery with average overall usability. If you are going to purchase one, be sure you have researched the competition.
This product looks great however is not the same as the USA model. The output amps are half the USA model, however the most annoying issue is the missing app. The power station has bluetooth and should have the app available in Australia. It is a pity it can not charge with a solar panel like other similar products. The only advantage is using the batteries for other Ryobi products. Hopefully Ryobi Australia will provide an app and consider a solar panel as an extra purchase. This would make it much better for camping or off grid travel. This product has potential however expensive without all the features.
I like how robust this unit is. Very handy to have another use for my batteries in between tidying the yard. Can't wait to take it camping!
I purchased this product to power my corded tools outside, I have a drill press and biscuit joiner that create a fair amount of sawdust, I can operate my tools safely without using extension cords from a indoor power supply and clean up is quick and easy.
