I would rather get down on my hands and knees and cut my lawn with blunt scissors. It would probably be faster too.Won't go below level 4 without stopping - even with a fresh charge. Not sure why they bother putting a catch on it, it catches about as much as a no armed baseball player.Make sure you plan your entire day around mowing your lawns with this one.it takes about 3 hours to charge.one charge barely lasts one run and you end up having to go over your lawn twice to pickup what it didn't catch.Would probably be fine for someone who had a small patch of grass that's not too thick - otherwise don't bother.

Bought this a month ago and was extremely disappointed! It's tiny and almost toy like. The benefit of that is that it's super light. The height adjustment control is terrible and it's really difficult to adjust. I wouldn't be surprised if after a while it became brittle and just breaks off, as it's plastic and requires a bit of force to pull out and adjust.Cutting is fine on a small lawn, as long as your grass is already quite short. But if you miss a week of mowing and even start on the highest setting, I found that it would cut out.The absolute worst part about this mower is that the hole into the catcher is too small, as is the cutting area underneath. So it quickly blocks up with grass. This causes the entire underside of the mower to be caked in grass! (see ... MoreBought this a month ago and was extremely disappointed! Which was really annoying then I'd have to rake up all the clumps. Next to no grass would ever make it into the catcher. I also have dead spots all over my lawn from where I missed picking up clumps that had dropped out of the cutting area, suffocating the lawn. I emailed Ryobi and asked for help/advice and never got a reply. So, I just returned it to Bunnings where they told me they have had a few people return them for the same reason. The only reason grass should clump like that underneath is if it's wet. I made sure I was waiting up to a week after rains before I mowed, only to end up with the same result.I swapped the mower for the next model uo- the 37cm brushless. It seems much beefier already.

Relax and buy with confidence – Bought this after trying the TERRIBLE Ozito kit (read my review) – The only thing I was concerned about, having borrowed a friends Ryobi (now discontinued model), was that even without a mulch plug (this model doesn't have one) – It STILL mulches, due to the fast blade speed – perfect cut. As with other reviews, on a LARGE ¼ acre yard, it likely wouldn't do the entire area on one charge, but if you already have Ryobi gear; not an issue. ONLY minor complaint, as mentioned elsewhere, is the height adjuster can be fiddly, and I'm sure if made of metal rather than plastic, it would resolve the issue, but not a major one, as it does work fine. VERY happy that I ended up going with this one! I am doing a review about it on my youtube ... I have had the Ryobi cordless mower for about 6 weeks now.Very happy with the results, we have just a small lawn and the street verge, so if we keep up every week it can all be done in 30 mins or so, on one battery charge. We have a spare battery for the matching edge trimmer so we can swap it out if needed to mow for longer. After a solid week of rain in Brisbane it can struggle with the sheer volume of growth but it just means doing it in two runs, first at high setting then lower.Only gripe is that the grass sometimes won’t go into the catcher and needs to be scooped out by hand. Only a problem with wet or dense grass.Because it’s so light weight and easy to use it’s a pleasure to whip around in half an hour each week and avoid that problem. Partner loves ... An excellent lightweight mower. Suitable for a small lawn or garden. Once the lawn is cut to length this mower is ideal for regular upkeep. My daughter finds it very easy to use. The only issue I had was adjusting the cutting height. The mower would only select to the lower two heights when sitting on the ground however once the front was raised it easily moved to fit the other height adjusting holes.Runs well with about an hours run from one battery and nice and quiet.
When the wheel broke on my little corded electric mower, I went to Bunnings and was persuaded to buy a Ryobi Cordless Mower which runs with an 18 volt, lithium ion battery. I find this was a very bad buy.• I have difficulty getting the battery out with my small fingers.• It is very heavy and hard to push compared with my old mower• The battery only lasts about half an hour.• The battery takes over 2 hours to charge• It takes me days to mow my lawns instead of hours• It does not cut as low so I have to mow more frequentlyIt is not the wonder product for a little old lady that I was led to believe.
Purchased this week- After an overnight charge it lasted about 30-40 minutes- My first mow was pretty high and wet nature strip from the heavy melbourne rains, the grass was still wet on the bottom areas- It managed to mow everything down to it's highest height setting on a full charge- only got bogged down by 'wet' clumps of grass sticking all on the underside- The unit is VERY plastic, however it doesn't feel cheap plastic, it's got good weight and rigidity to itOverall i think this performs very well for a battery operated mower. Perfect for properties with nature strips only, otherwise larger areas i would recommend mowing regurlarly so you're not left without a charge on thick grass. I think this would handle most areas very well if mowed ... Was a bit apprehensive after reading the negative reviews but soon realised that many will have purchased the wrong tool for the job. The battery reached full charge after a couple of hours and had more than enough power to complete a small nature strip (approx 75 m2). The mower performed well after starting at the highest setting and completing a few passes lowering to the second lowest setting. No need to be so cautious next time around. Is a mostly plastic build but that makes it extremely light to carry through the house from the rear storage shed. It’s not going to be suitable for a couple of hundred square metres of 150 mm grass and won’t last if treated roughly. Perfect tool for the right job. As for the life of the battery, will have to wait and see bit I ... Excellent little mower for our small patch of lawn in a townhouse yard.. When the most appropriate cutting height is found, it cuts evenly and requires no effort to push. It has ample power and plenty of battery life, even when the grass is long. The clippings are collected efficiently in the catcher for disposal in a green bin. Handles fold easily and, with the catcher sitting on top, it takes little storage space in the garage. Suggestion: as an owner of other Ryobi tools, and a battery and charger, it would be good to be able to save money and buy the mower without the battery and charger.
Purchased to replace our 13yo self propelling mower. I was initially concerned with the thought that I might have trouble pushing it around our yard but this little beauty is light and easy to manage. And QUIET! I won't have to wait till mid morning to mow for fear of disturbing my neighbours, this is as quiet as a whipper snipper. The catcher has a little "flag" that pops up when it is full and ready to be emptied. Very impressed with what I thought might be too small and lightweight for my yard. Goes through the couch and buffalo with very little effort.100% would recommend to anyone with a smallish yard.
