Use the RYOBI 18V ONE+ 6” (152mm) Pruning Saw to trim thick branches, cut small logs for firewood on camping trips, or reduce the size of branches for green waste collection. The Pruning Saw’s lightweight and compact design is easy to handle and great for quick garden tidy-ups. A 152mm bar and full house chain (with extra teeth) generate smoother, more controlled cuts through branches up to a maximum of 152mm in diameter. The pivoting bar guard provides additional protection from the blade. Tool-free chain tensioning makes it easy to adjust the Prunings Saw’s chain and maintain optimum cutting performance. Use any battery from RYOBI’s ONE+ range* to power this Pruning Saw. *Battery and charger sold separately.

Bought this little pruning saw to cut up fallen tree branches after a recent storm. We already have the 12 " chain saw and this little saw is an added bonus to our kit. No assembly required just remove the chain cover (plastic moulded piece) put in a battery and your set to go. A surprisingly powerful little beast of a saw. Cuts through decent sized branches with no hassles. I am talking up to fist sized and some a little larger at times. I am using it to cut branches up for mulching and for fire wood for next season. I use a 4 AH battery and it has lasted me several hours and only used 2 bars. The tensioner is so easy to use when adjusting the chain. Kind of like a ring pull that allows you to undo and adjust the chain when needed. Just be aware that the chain is ... The saw is easy to use with one hand and is very lightweight even with the larger battery in it. It runs smoothly and has a safety button on the side which must be pushed in as you press the trigger to operate the saw. The chain guard that runs along the top of the saw takes a bit of getting use to as it sometimes gets in the way when cutting larger thicker branches. The saw does like to jump a bit when you first start cutting but once I got use to using it I was ok with that. Let the saw do the work for you if you add pressure the saw will stop. So glad I purchased this saw and it saves me so much time and effort from dragging the bigger chainsaw out to play ;) Another WINNER from Ryobi.

Excellent for a quality hand-held chainsaw. I've extensively used larger Stihl petrol chainsaws, but this little ripper is perfect for cutting up and cleaning up my day's work in the garden. It's an easy to use, well balanced, and more than powerful enough to get the job done safely. Easy to clean up, re-oil the chain and best of all - it just works! I was initially skeptical about the plastic top chain guard but it moved easily away when cutting, was sturdy and worked as intended. Well done Ryobi...

I bought this awesome little chainsaw last weekend. I have been waiting for it since Christmas. I was about to spend more than double this price to buy the Milwaukee tool & battery kit because every review said it was the best, but when I baulked at the price, the dude at Bunnings told me about this little beauty from Ryobi and that it was on the way. As I have other 18v ONE+ batteries, I thought I'd wait. I had a Stihl GTA 26 previously - another great saw and I was looking for something I could use (cautiously) one handed. This Ryobi 6" pruning chainsaw fit the bill nicely. I used if for the first time yesterday and was very impressed how smoothly and easily it cut though branches up to 75 - 80 mm. It will handle bigger logs easily. Not so good on small bendy twigs as it jumps around and one-handed operation is dangerous as with any saw (The Ryobi 18v Secateurs work very well on those). The design and ergonomics of this saw have been very well thought out, making it easy and very satisfying to use - It just feels right in the hand. The chain tensioning is very simple and well designed. It does not have automatic oiling, but given the leaks I have with every other automatic oiling chainsaw, I rather prefer to do it manually on this small bar before and after each use - it only take seconds - somewhat less time than I've spent cleaning up the leaks from other saws. Time will tell how durable and reliable it is, but given my ever growing range of Ryobi tools, it was good to be able to get just the right tool that operates on the 18v ONE+ platform and buying it from Bunnings gives you great confidence if anything goes wrong. I used it for about 15 minutes on a 4 ah battery and still had 75% left in the battery. A pleasure to use and I'm looking around for more things to cut with it. So pleased I didn't spend the extra $ on the Milwaukee and with the 6" cutting bar, The Ryobi saw has more cutting capacity than the Milwaukee (4.5") and the Stilhl (4") and in my opinion provides very good competition to these more expensive high end alternatives. If you are already on the Ryobi ONE+ platform - this sensational little chainsaw is a no-brainer.

This Ryobi trimmer is excellent. Once I wired out how to tighten the chain I was able to use it to cut a number of larger branches off the trees around my house. I was going to use a handsaw to do this but the Ryobi made light work of it. Very simple to use with a good safety mechanism fitted. Was not heavy even with the battery fitted. I really like how I can by a tool skin and then just alternate the different battery packs. I also like that you register your product online and you get an extra 2 year warranty. I think it is great value. Will always need to prune every spring and this is going to make light work of the job in the future. Peace of mind with the excellent warranty. Cheers.
I have a Ryobi pole chain saw, a 12 inch Ryobi chain saw and a 36v Ryobi chain saw. I purchased this due to its light weight and ease of use. Ideal for those branches just too thick for pruners, but avoids the weight and access issues normal chain saws have. Works easily and has made our pruning jobs just that little bit easier. Wife is also able to use, whereas the larger saws are not suitable. Not really an essential for the garden but it is convenient.
I purchased this little thing a month ago for small firewood. After getting out for a first trailer load and using a 2Ah & 1 4Ah battery it smashed easily and cut through hard woods (Ironbark and grey gum) very easily. As it has no oil tank for the bar and chain, I am oiling after about 7 cuts.Chain quality is great as stretch on this is minimal considering the timber I am cutting, this little thing punches way above its intended design.100% recommended.
I love this pruning chainsaw. I previously have used different brands of large double handed chainsaw and a double handed reciprocating saw with pruning blade installed. And honestly those were heavy and cumbersome. Those tools dont come close to the ease of using this mini chainsaw from Ryobi. Yes this mini chainsaw is not for felling large trees obviously. But it will fell some decent sized shrubs and smaller to medium trees up to about 3m tall. And it will let you cut up all the branches into small parts for easy disposal. I cleared 5 pest shrubs and small trees in an afternoon with this and the Ryobi powered secateurs for the thinner branches. It is amazing. It cuts very quickly so there is minimal strain on your arms.
After recent storms I needed a small easy to use saw to cut up fallen branches. It was time consuming pulling out the big chainsaw so I thought this saw would be perfect. I also burnt out my reciprocating saw so needed a better option. WOW this is a little beast. I use a 2.5 AH battery and it lasts so long. I spent the afternoon cutting up smaller branches for the mulcher and the wood pile. I still have 2 bars left on the battery. An amazingly powerful pruning saw and it is very light weight even with a battery in. It does cut a surprisingly large thickness of wood- I mean 50 mm plus with no issues. Advice - let the saw do the work and don't push it. Also make sure you oil the chain- this one is not self oiling. I love the little pull handle that adjusts the chain ... Having been a fan of the Ryobi one+ ecosystem since the old NiCad days, I bought the 6” Katana pruning chain saw (tool only) hoping it would fit the bill for our garden pruning needs - I was not disappointed! What a great little machine, sitting perfectly in the gap between our hand held anvil loppers, and our petrol 14” chain saw. So clean, simple and safe to use c- no oily mess or problem starting issues. Not the cheapest offering on the market by any means, but the Ryobi build quality, 6 year extended warranty, brushless power and efficiency, mean this little saw is a wonderful addition to our Ryobi power tool collection for gardening and DIY work.I conscientiously manage my Ryobi Li-Ion batteries, always keeping them charged up ready to start work at a moments ... Love all things Ryobi.
It's early days, but I love this tool! Very easy to use and very effective. You just pick it up and go, and branches are lopped off in seconds. I even used it easily through the upstairs louvre windows to cut back branches that were too close to the house. I'm not a strong person and generally shy away from power tools, but this feels safe because it's light. A couple of things to note - because I have small hands I need to use 2 hands - one for the safety button and the other for the on button - actually, this doesn't seem to affect ease of use. Also, I was advised to clean it with CRC oil regularly because it has a tendency to get blocked up with wood debris - just passing this on (thanks to the lovely assistant at Bunnings)
