Going to the 9.0 Ah battery is a great move as it gives you so much more endurance when mowing or trimming. The price is good in comparison with the lower capacity batteries. For light items (blower etc.) it might be a bit heavy but that would be the only negative I could imagine.

The 9ah Hp batteries make a real difference to the hp tool range vs regular ryobi batteries. This is my second one and I will be getting more in the near future. They are great addition to my diy tools and often last me all day with intermediate drilling, grinding, rattling and circular sawing. They do take longer to charge. Just keep it in mind. I charge them overnight usually.

A good strong battery for those jobs that take a while to complete. Holds plenty of charge, ideal for tools such as a blower where I can be out there for 10-20 minutes to complete the job. Can take a long time to charge and adds a fair bit of weight so not ideal for some tools you need to hold above head height at times like a hedge trimmer where a lighter battery is more suitable. Mine started to lose power after the 3 year mark.

Used this battery on a line trimmer plus edger attachment. Old 4aH battery was struggling with edging often stalling. Put this thing on and completely powered through all edging taking about 40 minutes using only one bar of battery indicator. Can’t wait to use it on chainsaw I already have.
I have the one plus chainsaw and found the 5 ah battery struggled. Ryobi suggested the HP series so I got the 9ah. Made a huge difference and the saw powers through everything. Worth getting for high drain units like the chainsaw. Only downside is the price 250 NZD so by the time you factor in the saw price it is an expensive piece of kit. My dad shouted me another one so I can run the scarifier for a decent period as well.
We have a Ryobi lawnmower, weed eater and hedgetrimmer. The standard battery - great for power tools - could manage about 150m2 of lawn mowing and nothing else. This battery can handle the lawn, the edging and the hedge trimming, with some charge still left. And we now always have the smaller one as a backup. Perfect!
From camping to jobs around the house, this battery gets it done! The mighty 9Ah gets me through a whole weekend of camping, powering my fan, lights and radio without needing a charge.Back at home, I can run my One+ Brushless vacuum, leaf blower and whipper snipper letting me get all the chores done in one afternoon!
Not too much to say, it's a battery. However, compared to the others for example, the battery release tabs are easier to use than the 5 or 6AH as they're right near the bottom where your hand will be reaching across so it almost has more ease of use than the 6AH HP model. It is substantially heavier than the 4 or 5AH batteries, but lighter than the other 2 combined, and much more convenient to keep going using one battery rather than swapping them out halfway. Then of course it's an HP battery so it means my mower or vacuum or line trimmer or grinder or any of my other HP tools run way longer and with more power than with the 5AH and lower batteries. Great battery!
Bought this for longer run time for my Ryobi one mower. Certainly achieves that but also seems to give much stronger performance compared to the 5Ah batteries I usually use. Other positives are (1.) that the 9Ah doesn't get nearly as hot as the 5Ah and doesn't need to cool down before recharging and (2.) the extra weight seems to give better balance to the Ryobi blower and edger. Not that I would need, or want, the extra capacity or weight on my Ryobi shears, drill, flashlight etc. Takes about 5-6 hours to charge after use, but then so do I. Better performance and near equivalent run time to two 5Ah batteries at $199. Not cheap at $209 but worth it
We bought this battery for two reasons.1- it's the NEW battery system for the HP (High Performance?) tools .... these use the EXTRA two power lugs at the battery base. I'd also purchased the new Ryobi Impact Wrench at the same time, and they (write up from Ryobi) recommended the new HP batter for MAXIMUM performance.2-it's a huge battery !! We have a Ryobi Chainsaw (highly recomend that too) and if needed this will allow us to run that for ages !That's about it.Cheer, Ted
