Would not recommend! Should have read reviews before purchasing but it was on clearance - I now know why. This thing will not work consistently. It would not work at all to start with. Suddenly, it worked well and I was able to spray a full container. When it worked, it appeared to work well. After the first run, it will not prime or spray at all. I have tried it daily for 7 days now without luck. Emptied it, re-filled - all to no avail. Doubt I can return it now as I have sprayed with it once - a very costly spray, I might add. AVOID THIS UNIT!

Disappointed Leaks All Over

I was excited for this Ryobi as it was tool #16 I have purchased in the line. All have functioned well and given me no trouble. I purchased this sprayer and made sure to get the Ortho Bug B Gone that is compatible.Suited up, put on mask, and electric grounding bracelet to spray a small lawn section by my back patio 30'x20' (600 Sq ft). Primed sprayer on large nozzle noticed it came out but the unit was literally streaming out of the bottom before the nozzle. I ran through the entire .5 gallon in 5ft! The sprayer on large could also only muster a 3 ft spray electrostatic had zero effect.I emptied tank and rinsed tank out, filled with plain water. Same result holding down the trigger the tank emptied in 51 seconds on high! I kept trying to reprime, start stop, different nozzle settings, heck even a different battery. The darn thing will not cooperate. I believe the unit is damaged or defective out of the box. I'm very disappointed that this product does not function well or have high quality especially for $200. It is potentially hazardous as well do to the leaking.

Doesn't work out of the box

I have spent the last 2.5 hours trying to get this thing to spray. which I still have been unsuccessful. I have followed the included instructions, watched Youtube videos, this WILL NOT SPRAY. I'm probably out of luck because this is the first time I opened it, bought it in August this year. Let it sitting on the floor with the trigger pressed for 5 minutes. NOTHING comes out.

Plus, I want to have it on hand if we end up with more pandemic craziness. Ryobi makes this and one they call a mister. I happened to buy both, and like them both very much. I would suggest watching YouTube videos of demonstrations to make the decision on which is best for your particular application. Also, play around with the different settings, and see what works best for your needs. I have a smallish vegetable garden. It consists of (4) 4x8 beds and a 2x20 bed. The 1/2 gallon tank is enough to spray most of the garden area on the medium setting. When I expand my garden next year, I will most likely have to upgrade to a Stihl SR 430, or equivalent.I am really impressed with the quality of Ryobi tools. I dont own many of them, as I am a devout Milwaukee guy myself, but Milwaukee owns Ryobi tools now, and I think that is part of the reason they have gotten so much better. Plus, Ryobi has so many varieties of tools, at very reasonable prices, that they are worth trying. As the saying goes, they throw a lot of crap against the wall to see what sticks.... And I like that. They have produced some really unique tools that have become big hits, and others have copied. I.e. the power cleaner, which I also own 2 of.My only complaint with this setup, is that the 2.0AH battery that each unit comes with sucks. They don't last for spraying more than a 1/2 gallon or so. I highly recommend buying the 4.0AH battery starter kit with rapid charger, if you dont own any other Ryobi tools. Otherwise you will waste a lot of your time waiting for your battery to recharge. Kind of works

Fired it up excited to spray my yard for squeeters. Worked the first 30 seconds then nothing would come out. Would periodically spit full liquid out and then for for like 5 seconds after it moved suddenly. Ended up having to walk around my yard shaking the dang thing every 20 seconds. No idea if it actually sprayed anything. Chewed through the battery quick too. My thoughts on it are meh. Good price if it works. I’ll do a 2nd spray soon & hopefully it works better, but I doubt it.

Okay but not quite a hit

I just used this unit to disinfect our office space. Overall it was effective. The areas for improvement that I would offer:- As soon as the tank gets below half, the spray pressure become intermittent. You can tell right away when it happens because the motor/pump sound changes. As a result the spread of the spray is reduced by 25-50%. So, everytime the volume of liquid in the tank reached 1/2, I refilled the tank which was sub-optimal as it created more steps for me.- Similarly, when the volume of liquid was approaching half empty, if I did not hold the sprayer level it would start to spray intermittently- When you turn the spray adjustment knob between High, Med, Low, if I didn't have the knob adjustment perfectly in the detent, it would not spray and instead ... MoreI just used this unit to disinfect our office space. Only worked twice

Used it with insecticides that where recommended by Home Depot, First two times worked well, cleaned after each use per the instructions.On the 3rd time we took it camping and it would hardly spray at all, regardless of the nozzle setting. Figured I would be able to clean and get it working again once we got home, but no luck. Followed the deep cleaning instructions, still barely spits anything out after cleaning everything possible.Returning it to the store and will not buy another one.

Ryobi mishap

I purchased this because of other 18 volt tools. Used one time with black flag insecticide, was told it was a good combination by H.Depot associate, did everything as instructed, cleaning after use, etc.. as instructed. Filled and tried using today, no success! Tried multiple times, full charged batteries, everything after an hour decided it was a bad buy. No longevity that I thought Ryobi was known for, I definitely do not recommend this product!

Works very well

I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before by buying this. Perhaps I got lucky, as mine works flawlessly. I bought this to fog/mist my basement after a mold infestation. Definitely need a hazmat suit/goggles/mask/gloves, as the electrostatic charge does make the spray stick to everything.I also used this to spray the plastic shelving I removed from the basement (after air washing), as the slots in the shelves make regular cleaning alone very tedious.A very good buy at a good price.

so disappointed

ryobi has great warranties so i was confident when i first bought this. it is now july…ordered in april & i still don’t have a working sprayer.powers up & hums. nothing comes out.first canister arrived cracked, had to wait for replacement. 2nd canister also had crack. got 3rd replacement intact canister… and i finally had to use the sprayer snd it doesn't spray at all.i have wasted do much time on the phone snd wasted do much wondercide that leaked from the 2 previous canisters & this time
