I bought the Saw to help with the process of breaking up Pallets for Woodworking projects. The overall result is excellent but a word has to be said about the Blades! I originally bought a Diablo brand 210mm for nail embedded timber. The blade constantly fell out after a few seconds use.I ended up returning the saw and getting a replacement. However, the replacement saw did not have the "LOCK & "UNLOCK" buttons but rather the old style "hold in with your finger" type. I took this one back and was able to get the original style that I first purchased. Whilst at Bunnings I bought the Lennox Metal cutting blades & a 160mm Kango all purpose blade.Neither of these blades have caused any difficulty, whilst the Diablo blade also fell out of the replacement saw.The ... MoreI bought the Saw to help with the process of breaking up Pallets for Woodworking projects. Whippy branches didn't cut well but I suspect the proper (and longer) Pruning Blade would have eliminated this issue.

A rugged, quality saw that is easy to use. I like the simple method of changing blades. The design means it feels balanced when being used - that is, it is not tiring on the arms or wrists. A great addition to the growing family of One+ tools.

I have only had it for a few days but I an very surprised how easy it is to handle. I use a DIABLO pruning blade to cut branches. I even cut down a large palm. This is a great gardening gadget. This saw is worth it's weight in gold, it is so versatile. Get one you will love it

I have just bought the R18RS Reciprocating saw and from reading previous reviews noted it only came with one wood blade, so I also wanted to buy some more of the other type as well. The Bunnings store first said they had them and when I could not find them was told they do not stock them any more (seems odd when only Bunnings has the Ryobi range not to be able to buy the same brand blades). So I was told any other brand will fit the saw, so I bought a set of Kango 5 Blade set.At home I checked the blades and with them fitted to the saw, they would touch the steel guide. When I when back to Bunnings they said - again that any brand should work, but I had to explain that is not the case as the design of the Ryobi blades have the teeth 'higher' up the body of the ... MoreI have just bought the R18RS Reciprocating saw and from reading previous reviews noted it only came with one wood blade, so I also wanted to buy some more of the other type as well. The Bunnings store first said they had them and when I could not find them was told they do not stock them any more (seems odd when only Bunnings has the Ryobi range not to be able to buy the same brand blades). When I when back to Bunnings they said - again that any brand should work, but I had to explain that is not the case as the design of the Ryobi blades have the teeth 'higher' up the body of the blade where as the Kango have a deeper section to the blade teeth.I had to then check in store that another brand blade would work. That was the Diablo brand. It is interesting that when I went online to see if I could buy the Ryobi brand blades, it said they could be purchased at Bunnings!
Works very well. Many years ago I had the original blue version, prior to the rebranding to lime green and grey. I don’t recall that original unit vibrating as much as this current model. This model features “anti vibration technology” but I’m not sure what that consists of, or if it even exists. Good unit tho, makes light work of branches as thick as a fore-arm.
So far its been excellent. I had previously bought the entry level version of this saw and was very disappointed - the ergonomics were not good (hard to hold the safety on while using) and it caught fire and burnt out within a few minutes of use! This one is the saw to buy, its not much more money but significantly better ergonomics and much stronger. Spend the extra money!
Purchased this saw for pruning and also to use in modifying an existing fence that involved cutting nails that were almost impossible to access with any other tool. The saw exceeded my expectations. Both tasks were performed with ease. I am sure I will put this reciprocating saw to use in many other ways in the future.
Was never planning to buy a reciprocating saw but an issue with water pipe on New Years Day had me at Bunnings looking for solutions and this great tool did not disappoint! Never faulted cutting through pipes and small tree roots etc. Now one of my favourite go to tools for just about anything. Have used it more in 10 days than I ever thought I would. Handy, easy to use, super easy to change blades and it’s light enough for even my mum to use without any issues.
Lovin' the saw, had lots of use already as doing some hard pruning in the back yard. 1840 kg of green waste to the tip already and probably another four or five thousand kg to go! Can you believe it? Absolutely insane! Another great tool to our very loved and valued Ryobi the One collection. Certainly could use a battery or two to keep us going when the fast charger and standard charger are under the pump as we go nuts with all the tools! Thanks Ryobi, you are our number One!
I was thinking of buying a cordless Ryobi chainsaw. Unfortunately, there was no available stock of this item, so i ended up purchasing a cordless Ryobi reciprocating saw. With interchangeable cutting blades, battery operated and already having lithium batteries and chargers...i cannot be more pleased with the skin i bought. I have used it for tree pruning and metal cutting in the short time i have had it. The blades are simple to change and accept all other branded cutting blades.
