Finally bought a Ryobi impact driver, should have bought one ages ago. So much better for screwing into anything. Like all the convenient one + range it works very well and makes life easier.

Bought the driver as I got frustrated having to change over drill bit for screw bit when building my tool shed.Used it extensively when helping build my relatives shed. So easy, powerful, reliable, and low power usage (4Ah battery lasted for 3 days of tek screws and 100mm wood screws.Takes pride of place in the shed alongside the drill.

Excellent value for money little driver. As a serious DIY enthusiast I have yet to come across a screw, nut or bolt that it couldn't loosen. Made the mistake initially of using normal screwdriver bits with it but it chews through them quite fast so make sure you buy impact bits for it. Would most definitely recommend.

Bought first driver 4 yrs ago and worked it hard. Drove up to 150 mm screws into posts etc. Without drilling. This thing operated very well then on my last shed it felt like the clutch slipped. I then ordered a new one however when I picked up the machine a while later the socket hexagon driver which cost $6 for the bits parted. It was not the machine that broke but an attacment and the heat friction caused it to bind and loose like a clutch. I now have 2 of these and will most properly have drivers for the next 8 yrs. Dont believe the bad reviews. This is a very good product for its price..
So I bought this impact gun thinking that 180NM of Torque was plenty to take off a wheel nut on my cars and 4wd, but I havnt found anything this impact driver can actually do... I just end up getting the manual tools out or use the 2 speed 18V One+ Drill I also got in the kit, and just use the Drill setting to get stuff done. Either I was unlucky with my purchase and came faulty or simply... electric impact drivers with (Especially with no speed selector!) is useless...and need air powered or a crazy 3 speed up to 300NM torque or something to take off a 35" wheel nut or even get past the half way point of the thread before stopping and I have to get the ratchet set out then finish with a breaker bar for EVERY. SINGLE. WHEEL NUT.
I recently purchased the Ryobi 18V impact driver and have been extremely impressed with its performance. The torque is powerful and it makes quick work of any driving or fastening tasks I've used it for. I have put off buying one because I have a couple of drills but wish I had bought it sooner. The design of the tool is ergonomic and comfortable to hold, making it easy to use for extended periods of time. Overall, I highly recommend the Ryobi 18v impact driver for anyone in need of a reliable and powerful DIY tool for their projects.
Great quality product at a budget price. Just as good performance and a better returns / replacement policy that with the premium products. I cannot fault this product or the other Ryobi product that i own.
I bought this impact driver for a project to replace an old steel front fence with a wooden picket fence. It is the base model but met my needs perfectly. Four screws per picket, 25 pickets every 2 metres. I still pre-drilled holes (pro-tip make a template to ensure even placing of screws) to prevent splitting into the pickets but the power and speed of the drill is astonishing. My favourite is driving self-drilling screws into metal - without predrilling. The sound once it has bitten as it hammer drives the screw home is awesomely satisfying! (Is that too over the top?). When I budgeted for the picket fence replacement I included the cost of the Impact driver. This helped my tool fetish pass the home budget approval process. I used the same method to justify my cordless circular saw. Find a project that needs that tool!Disclaimer - if you have money to spare go for the brushless model. I didn't because this one meets my needs.
So I decided to get out of the dark ages and see what all the fuss was about...Buy an entry level impact driver to give it a go... Well I'm bloody glad that I did now! This is a great entry level impact driver, it's not top of the range but it's got an awesome pricetag, and like me, you'll soon be realising that you should have stepped out of the dark ages a LONG time ago!I grabbed my 2.5ah battery and the first few tasks that I tested it with was removing and replacing some really rusty old screws and it handled the job without a problem.Just remember when tightening your screws, use THE CORRECT FORCE.I got a bit carried away and may have gone a wee bit hard on the trigger while tensioning the the first couple of new screws and I snapped them off, ... MoreSo I decided to get out of the dark ages and see what all the fuss was about...Buy an entry level impact driver to give it a go... I bought this as I already had a battery and didn’t think I could justify buying an expensive brand when I don’t use it much.Nearly fried the battery on installation. Something short circuited inside the impact driver housing. And nearly wrecked my battery.Poor design with contacts and battery. I have returned a lot of Ryobi products now they DO NOT last.
