I took it back to my local Bunnings (which does not stock the palm sander kit), the big guys could not remove it without great effort. They said it was a fault with the build and gave me a refund. I really loved the sander and went back to the big Bunnings to get another. Before I bought it I got the sales person to open and check the battery fit. He got it out the first time, I said try again, and he could not remove it, so I did not buy it. I reported the problem to Ryobi, but recieved a generic reply that indicated they either did not actually read my complaint, or they did not understand the problem. Got this unit as a replacement of the unit with no battery that died really quick. (3 doors and 7 doorframes).This unit did not get through 4 doors and burnt out also.

Great little sander. Plenty of power does the job well, BUT, the battery is hard to impossible to change out. So I'm just a girl and didn't have the strength to pull out the used battery. Went back to Bunnings to change it but there're all like that. Definitely a fault with the build. Even the guy at Bunnings struggled. So I got a corded instead. Bummer.
I bought this Ryobi palm sander a year ago. I love it. I have sanded so many things with it: the lounge room timber floor, the hallway, coffee tables and other furniture. My husband has used it for sanding timber for our pantry. I am now doing the kitchen cork floor. It has had lots of work and hasn't missed a beat. I never thought I could love a power tool!
Love my Ryobi One palm sander. Was so glad to get a battery with it as some of mine aren’t charging anymore. Had to do window sills and door frames. Really easy to use. Highly recommended.
This palm sander does work - it sands jobs, and gets into corners. But I kind of hate it - it vibrates so much no matter how you hold it, leaving my wrists and poor old joints sore after about 5 min. Maybe palm sanders are just like this, but my Ryobi random orbital sander is SO much more comfortable to use, I just end up grabbing that one instead of the palm sander 99 times out of 100.
A very comfortable sander to use it fits my hand nicely not causing to much vibration to your hand while using it.The sanding pads are an easy on and off and is suitable to be used with a vacuum to minimize dust.
Just what I was looking for to replace my old and no longer working palm sander. And it takes readily available standard size sheets. The 2 AH battery does the job perfectly and keeps the overall weight down.
Great little sander, very comfortable and easy to use. Does a really good job for the price. My only complaint is with the battery, the level of charge lights have stopped working after only 2 weeks and this is the 2nd battery that's had this problem, also the battery can hard to remove, the same for my Ryobi mower.
