I bought this to finish a carport project and various other things and am surprised at it's ability compared to other tradie brands such as Makitia and Bosch that I've used before.Would recommend this driver to anyone as It does what I expect it to do. I will add though, time will tell if the batteries have been improved. The drill I got a few years ago had the smaller battery die just outside the (then) 2yrs warranty. So I'm happier that Ryobi now offers an extended 4 yrs warranty on the standard (6 in total) once you register your item with them.

I have put this impact driver to work around the house and yard and it has not let me down. Whether it be driving bugle screws into hardwood sleepers, or putting flat pack furniture together it has been a fantastic tool to use

The only downside is the driver bits supplied. But that is partly down to my ignorance. Two were for the drill - they kept popping out of the driver and I couldn't figure out why until I saw the driver bit which fitted perfectly. However with use the impact driver bit has started to show signs of wear which I think is partly my inexperience in using it and partly because I need to adjust the driver to a lower setting.Just purchased a replacement set of driver bits for £3.98 so I am not concerned.I am very pleased with the deal. I read up about the impact driver before I purchased it.It's a great tool but if you are not using it everyday throughout the day, the lower capacity batteries are fine with one in use and one on charge.Well done B&Q for waylaying me and pointing me in the right direction. So far I've used the package on repairing my DIY compost bins holding planks of wood in place with one hand and impact driver fixing them in the other. Great fun but rather mucky

My first tool.
12 December 2023

My very first battery powered tool bought in a starter kit. Has easily undertaken many DIY projects with ease. Added a drill chuck to extend to proper drilling and versatility. Included 4AH battery more than enough grunt and not too heavy. Only improved by buying a dedicated drill (I did later) to save swapping out bits.

This has to be one of the best impact drivers for the money. I have been using one of these since 2013 in my every working day. I am a small property developer and work on all my property projects. My Ryobi kit works hard every day. My impact driver out works my employees well known brand drivers. It has never let me down or failed to impress. Out of all my vast tool kit The Ryobi Impact Driver is my favourite piece of Kit. You will not be disappointed with your decision to buy one.

Ryobi reliability
29 May 2023

Having purchased my first ONE+ tool 4 years ago and added to my collection each year, I realise now that I'd be 'powerless' without them. They are immensely versatile, functional and dependable, being able to do their task anytime, anywhere, meaning that attending to matters that need doing, or fixing, can be done without dragging out power leads or having to find power outlets close by to get the job done. One battery for all tools was a genious jdea, Ryobi...........and I take off my workman's hat to you!

Strong performance
5 September 2017

I'm a fan of Ryobi tools. Their bare units, and combo's are reasonably priced and well above average in terms of quality. This particular impact driver has good balance and weight, and throws out 170nm of torque (when paired with 18v Li-On). The impact action is good and functions well at both low and high speeds, and trigger is smooth. If there's one downside to this drill it's that the LEDs upfront only engage when the driver is turning. All in though this is a good unit. Pair it with some high amp/discharge FlagPower batteries (much better value than official) and you have great tool.

Tons or torque when it matters ...
25 September 2023

This is the 'go-to' tool for working with larger projects that require lots of screws. Because of the high torque, it is not especially suited to small screws (use the standard drill/driver for those) but for larger screws from 8-10g upwards it is just the right tool. For decking screws with square drives or batten screws with hex drives there probably isn't a better value for money on the market.

Once you get the hang of this you will wonder how you ever managed without one.Unit is well built feels substantial and none of the parts have any play in them. It’s rwassuring in the handbut not too heavy with a 1.3mah battery which leads me to the only possible down side to these tools.Battery life on the 1.3mah isn’t great and the batteries are not cheap. However in my opinion the tools are great quality and therefore investment in better batteries is planned for the near future. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this piece of equipment to the DIY enthusiast it won’t disappoint

Well worth adding to your Ryobi One + collection

I started 2yrs back with buying the Ryobi hammer drill kit when it was on offer at B&Q. Since added the angle grinder and now the impact driver. If you have never used an impact driver before they are amazing. They hammer (impact) the chuck around and drive screws or nuts/bolts in without any apparent torque reaction onto your wrist. It starts smoothly driving the screw like a drill/driver and then when the going gets a bit tough starts hammering it around.Drill/drivers are fine if you could have put the screw in by hand. They save a lot of time. These devices do the same but will also drive in/out a screw that you could not do by hand. My first use of an impact driver was to remove a bolt stuck with corrosion that I could not unscrew with hand tools - it did it ... MoreI started 2yrs back with buying the Ryobi hammer drill kit when it was on offer at B&Q. Same quality as the other top makes. Only drawback would be a job that needed frequent changing between two tools ~ but then if that became a real pain you could always just add one extra battery !
