I bought this about 5 months ago to clean up an old gum tree that fell in a storm. It is easy to start and has plenty of power. The gum tree I've been using it on is around 1.2m diameter at the base and this saw has handled it well. I've also used it recently to rip a slab out approximately 5m in length by 30cm. I would definitely recommend this saw to anyone that needs a decent size saw with plenty of power that doesn't want to spend big money on a name brand.

I would recommend this saw to potential purchasers...I have 2 Ryobi saws (also a 38cc model which has done about 5 hours work)1. I agree with one other review i have read online about the 50cc model...the clutch is not particularly strong for a saw of this size...it struggles to handle the torque of the engine + 20" chain. I found it slips regularly unless only the weight of the saw itself is used when 3/4 to full bar length cuts are being made. The 38cc saw is much better in this area...the 38cc model clutch is almost bulletproof, however, this one is almost certainly going to be an ongoing problem unless one goes very easy on the pressure...making little use of the leverage that the log gripping teeth provide on the saw housing itself.2. After about 15 minutes I realized the oil feeder is not working for bar/chain lubrication...the oil reservoir was still full and clearly had not used any of the oil we put in it from the start (when I first filled the bar lube up, I filled it to the brim...so I am 100% certain it did not lubricate the bar/chain at all).As we were out in the bush with the saw, we had to manually apply lubricant to the chain for the cutting that we did (only 1 tank of fuel has been in the saw). Fortunately, we had the other 38cc Ryobi saw with us and utilized that one to finish collecting firewood.I am happy with the way the saw runs...only the above two issues.I will return to saw to Bunnings Sunbury on Monday 26th July for an exchange and will happily get an identical saw as my runnings experience with this one has generally been very positive in the short amount of use it got today.
Brought this 2 years ago as was in need of a chainsaw for clearing up back of section. Have used constantly since buying and never had an issue with the saw. Only issue is that the plastic cap ove the spark plug easily comes off

I grew up on a farm and used to cut and sell firewood when I was younger with my dad, we always ran STHIL saws and always swore by them, but so far this one keeps up. I bought this saw 2 months ago. Returned to my local Bunnings store from which I bought the saw and they dont have replacement chains!!! Lots of other chains, but NOTHING that suits this saw..... Not out of stock, just don't even list it as an item.
Great chainsaw, easy start, cuts well, only gave 2 stars as they have halved the size of the fuel tank capacity compared to our Ryobi 2014 model, you really only get approx 20mins work out of it whilst cutting hardwood, approx half hour any other wood, not really viable compared, 2014 model Ryobi gave much more, approx 45 mins to an hour work before running out of fuel, if Ryobi wanted to make it a lighter saw, use lighter components elsewhere... feels like 2014 saw went on forever, feels like constantly filling fuel in new saw...
Very happy with this chainsaw. Starts easy every time, Powerful and cuts extremely well.For the price and quality and as a handyman, I will never buy a more expensive brand.
Bought this chainsaw , used it once and the chain came off damaging the bar and chain. I had checked the tension prior to use.Then the cast in keyway on the flywheel failed. I replaced the flywheel after waiting 6 weeks for the part.The unit worked another couple of times and sheared the casting on the flywheel again!The chain bar oil leaked horribly from day one.As a qualified plant mechanic I was amazed to see such a blatant example of pre determined redundancy. Avoid this rubbish like the plague.Will never buy another Ryobi product
