Nice angle grinder, got it in a offer which I used to kickstart my Ryobi collection. The trigger is much better than on my old Ryobi corded grinder. Makes doing restoration on my car much easier

I bought this using the 'Free Tool' offer as I had been considering the angle grinder for a long time. I haven't used it yet, but it appears well designed and well made and if it's like my other Ryobi's I'm sure it will perform well and be easy to use. As with other Ryobi 18+ purchases the extension of the warranty to 3years brings peace of mind.

As usual excellent speed delivery. On opening the box I was really impressed . The grinder looks like the real Mcoy The weight and balance with and without battery gives the feel of a fully wired version but without the restrictions of a trailing wire. I'm really looking forward to showing it off on site.PS You should try the Whisper Fan another really great product. Very effective and quiet!

The product itself is good, the low overall rating is because the charger was supplied with a European 2 pin plug rather than a UK 3 pin plug and despite reporting this back to Ryobi I have not received a response. This is not an acceptable level of customer service which is a shame because I really like Ryobi products and have many pieces in my workshop.

Does the job

Yes no battery, but it tells you this, one battery does all, as you all know.Yes it swallows battery's, so you'll need a couple or so, depending on size of job.It grinds better than it cutsCutting need full battery if not it night stick but still livable.So it's not the best but if you've no power and need a long extension it will do, come on it doesn't cost the earth, what do you expect, supper power for small buck's

Great But .......

I bought this when laying patio slabs for the more intricate cuts that my beefy corded one wouldn’t get. Great piece of kit as always from ryobi however I’ve had to have 3 batteries on the go as the charge depleted very quickly (2 x normal and 1 x 4.0) we’re talking a battery life of 10 mins. Also the blade included isn’t a diamond blade so add another £10 onto the price to do the job.I suggest the big 5.0 batteries and the quick charge outlets if your going to use this tool for the same job as me.

Great portable grinder

I've used it on a 4.0maah battery and got well over 4 hours use out of a charge, a little noisy though, even for a grinder! and "bare body" is exactly that, battery and charger purchased separately 👍

Ruining cordless angle grinder

Good for small jobs - tidying up things cut with a mains powered more substantial angle grinder. Being cordless allows greater freedom to get into more difficult spots. Had a go at cutting a 3/4 inch thick slate along a 2 foot length - it sapped all the strength from two ruining batteries and still didn’t quite complete the job.

very tough

Very tough. Bought one five years ago and totally abused it- lots of cutting stone, slate concrete and metal. Dropped it lots of times and got it wet. I thought the gear had finally busted, so bought a replacement angle grinder. I took the old one apart and found it was just a bearing collapsed - bought a new one for 2 and it's fine. Checked the brushes, gear, and other bearings and it's all good nick. So I've got two of these angle grinders now
