This is my fifth Nespresso Coffee Machine. I've had Nespresso machines for over a decade. This machine started leaking from the back roughly four months after we bought it. I have tried multiple ways to contact Nespresso to have it fixed or replaced under the warranty and have had no response at all. Nespresso constantly funnel you through the *most irritating* automated call system which just gives standard useless responses. So this machine has been a very expensive waste of money! Years ago, I had an issue with a machine and Nespresso replaced the part quickly- I don't know what has happened to their customer service team but it is now utterly appalling and useless. Avoid Nespresso as a brand. They were once great but now they're dreadful.

I bought this machine in October 2020 and it hasn't put a foot wrong in all that time. The coffee is always spot on with no burnt or bitter tasting like some coffee machines. It's easy to get Nespresso compatible pods for it that are as good and better than the original Nespresso pods. The wand purges itself free every cup of coffee and then we wipe it down with a damp cloth. We have descaled it when prompted to do so. It seems good quality and very robust and we have been delighted with it. Also, it was a Which magazine Best Buy.I am now looking to buy another one as a house warming present for my son but, having read some of the reviews, I'm somewhat hesitant. I am beginning to wonder if the quality has gone downhill or the quality control is not as robust as it was. Th machine is actually cheaper than when we bought ours so the price is very attractive.(I don't understand people saying they've had them repaired within the guarantee period - I would definitely have asked for a refund or replacement.)It's a good looking machine (we have the stainless steel one) and has a relatively small footprint on the worktop.Based on my own experience with the coffee maker I think I will buy another one but, if it does break down within the year, I will tell my son to exchange for a different machine.

Bought the Creatista Plus machine in November for my wife and she loves the coffee it makes. The milk frother also is excellent for hot chocolate too. The machine worked a treat until it wanted to be descaled. So we bought the descaling liquid in January and that's when the problems started. Basically the machine no longer worked and had to send it back to Nespresso for fixing. They gave us a very basic machine whilst it was being fixed. On return the machine is still not working despite them putting a new pump. Having major issues with Nespresso trying to get this resolve and John Lewis have not exactly been helpful either, stating that the guarantee lies with Nespresso.Be very careful when buying the machine. Great machine when it works but customer service sadly ... MoreBought the Creatista Plus machine in November for my wife and she loves the coffee it makes. This is an excellent product but under no circumstances would I suggest taking out an extended warranty with Domestic and General. We have been trying to have a small issue repaired for four months (leaking water tank). D&G insisted on the whole machine with accessories being returned to them. This involved several failed collections, return to an address 200 miles away, the product damaged in transit and eventually returned without any accessories and now the machine does not work at all.We have been passed between dozens of departments and sub contracted repair companies over the last 4 months and when I pointed out to the very unhelpful technical assistant that we had been without the use of this machine for 5 months his response was "well can't you put the ... MoreThis is an excellent product but under no circumstances would I suggest taking out an extended warranty with Domestic and General. We have been trying to have a small issue repaired for four months (leaking water tank). I have had my machine 12 months now and now I feel this is best time to write a review now rather than jumping to quick conclusions after just a few weeks.Well it looks great and makes the kitchen look smart like all Sage products. It is very easy to use by selecting what type of coffee you want and very easy to adjust the settings for each option. You can select how much froth you'd like on your milk, how hot you want and the strength of coffee by varying the water content per pod. Once you have your preferred settings you never really touch it again. The steam wand is very easy to clean as it runs a clean cycle after every use which is nice to see and the catch tank in the base holds quite a bit of waste water until you need to empty it.Some people may ... MoreI have had my machine 12 months now and now I feel this is best time to write a review now rather than jumping to quick conclusions after just a few weeks.Well it looks great and makes the kitchen look smart like all Sage products. It is very easy to use by selecting what type of coffee you want and very easy to adjust the settings for each option. All in all the whole process of cleaning the tip with the tool and o-rings plus running the clean wand program takes between 1-2 minutes so we are not talking a big job. Also the machine will ask you once every 4-6 months to descale the machine, this again is very easy step by step process on the digital display and only takes about 10 minutes but the more you do this the better the machine will perform and last in the long run.Complaints I read about coffee not been hot enough is either their machine is faulty or not maintained properly or they are are wanting it at 100 degrees? After all coffee should not be that hot. I would not want my coffee any hotter personally for me.For me this is a great machine my only complaint with this model is you cannot brew the coffee and steam the milk at the same time but they now have a new model that can do this but it comes at a premium price.Would I buy another one after 12 months of use? Yes! All in all I love it and it is easy to use and looks great!
We go this machine as a Christmas present, and it was positively splendid to begin with. The milk was frothed to perfection, coffee was luxioursly smooth.Roll forward six months after some pretty intense use mind you, and the luxirously smooth coffee remains so, but that frothy milk? Forget it. At this point the milk was becoming tepid, and the froth was more like bubbles my nephew blows into his milk. Contact JL and was advised to go through Nespresso - which is fair enough given it's their product and they provide relatively decent customer service. The customer service element was great, however, the technical service provided was useless. The machine was returned and within a month it was blowing bubbles again rather than frothing. The machine was returned and within a month it was blowing bubbles again rather than frothing. Contacted Nespresso again and they kindly agreed to replace the pump again. Upon its return this time the machine was visibly scratched and dented all over, yet again contacted Nespresso and am awiting the machine to be collected for the third time.My final thoughts on the machine are that it is quite good when it works and is certainly very stylish, the customer service is also good - however, the build quality for a machine of this cost is not to the standard I would expect. I note that a lot the negative reviews on here are often based on 3-6 months down the line and to me that is an indicator something is wrong with the internal construction. Especially as we own other SAGE products which are produced just by SAGE not in conjuction with other companies, like this machien and Nespresso. On reflection I would purchase a different machine, probably the SAGE Duo Temp Pro
Fantastic looking machine which makes superb coffee. However, problems arise when it needs descaling. If you live in a hard water area this can be a nightmare. When I have a couple of people over the milk will froth well for the first coffee then it will go flat. Really annoying.I am finding the machine needs descaling nearly every month. The milk frother setting is a gimmick, mine is on the highest setting and the froth is enough for a flat white or latte. If you want a really frothy foam you get better results with stand alone milk frother. All that being said, most days it's just me having one morning coffee which I look forward to it and enjoy.
Loved the look and coffee from this machine but it's short lived because the machine then goes wrong. Machine 1-within 2 months use (1-2coffees a day) it kept saying the frother spout was blocked. When 'unblocked' (doing this multiple times each use) the milk would be lukewarm.JL replaced swiftly and a replacement arrived.3 months in and issues started on the replacement machine. Constantly saying it needed de-scaling or the spout unblocking. Tried soaking the spout in washing up liquid and hot water, taking it all apart etc etc but no better.Called JL who this time said I'd need to go to Nespresso direct, as the warranty was with them. I didn't realise this upon purchasing and because I'd had no issue with the previous return it was a bit of a shock.Dutifully ... MoreLoved the look and coffee from this machine but it's short lived because the machine then goes wrong. And also that I'd need to use whole milk? All very bizarre. The lady said she'd order me a new frother spout but then actually it was out of stock and might not be back in stock for 2-8 weeks.Called JL to express my disappointment. The representative was apologetic but said nothing she could do.Complained via email and eventually after much wrangling have managed to secure a return and e-credit.Be wary of ordering this machine as the warranty is not with John Lewis and Nespresso were rude and difficult to deal with when trying to sort the problem. It's a shame, as when working, it's great!
I purchased a Sage Creatista Plus from Argos, when I was unpacking it I noticed scratches and dirty marks on it. The chrome front was scratched where the milk jug had been drgged across it, the drip tray top was scratched and dirty, the capsule container was stained inside, the cup support was dirty underneath, and the insides of the machine were stained with dried coffee. The machine under the water tank had a lot of water scale on it and the water tank smelt very fusty! Dirty brown water and old coffee grounds came out in to my cup. Then I noticed that the water tank was leaking and the machine was in a pool of water. I dried it out and put it back in the box ready to go back.I phoned Sage help line but they didn't seem interested and said I needed to ring Nespresso which I did but they were also unhelpful and told me to take it back to Argos for an exchange or refund.I am very disapointed with this purchase. I bought a Sage because they are supposed to be good quality and reliable but I finished up with a second hand dirty faulty machine. I had been considering buying a Sage Barista Express as well as this pod machine but I will now give that a miss.
Love Nespresso and have worked my way up the range over 11 years. I love this machine when it works but the milk wand is ropey. Had my first one for a year and then it stopped frothing. Got a replacement from Nespresso as within warranty. Had that for a year. Wand broke. Nespresso replaced it again. Had this one for a few months and the wand's gone again. Makes amazing cappuccino when it works but the joy doesn't last. Going to call Nespresso and get a different machine. So frustrating.
