The Salomon XT-6 Gore-Tex Black Silver takes Salomon’s signature trailing running technologies and applies them to a city-inspired sneaker. This lightweight runner boasts an upper made of synthetic mesh, which is designed to keep debris from entering the shoe. Gore-Tex bonds to the mesh upper and creates a protective layer that is waterproof and windproof yet also breathable. The sneaker features an all-black construction with reflective stripes that form triangular shapes and spell out SALOMON. The EnergyCell midsole provides responsive cushioning on concrete, compact soil, and rough terrain, while the rubber tread provides traction. A toggle lace closure with thin, durable laces secures the shoe and allows for easy adjustments. Branding details can be found on the inner side panel and the tongue tag. The Salomon XT-6 Gore-Tex Black Silver was released on January 27, 2024, and retailed at $200.

These are my second pair of Salomon's - my first pair I have worn almost every day for the last 2 years. They are the best shoes I have ever worn (grippy, waterproof, cloud like comfort), so I thought I would get a 2nd pair of a different model - also with gore tex (which is amazing and should be on every shoe IMO). These are comfortable but not as incredibly comfortable as my other pair, and they look really great (I get a lot of compliments). However something I'm very disappointed about is the fact that they are incredibly slippery... I keep slipping everywhere this autumn - the wet leaves, wet ground, but also on the tube on the escalators! So I have to be very careful when walking and going down steps, which really defeats the purpose of grippy trainers...

I bought the XT-6 GoreTex about a month ago and it is hands down my best purchase this year. I have a hard time not wearing them every day. My other shoes are getting pretty dusty. Everything about this shoe is perfect. The design. The proportion. The comfort. The waterproof. It is an elegant looking shoe if one can say that about a high performance athletic shoe. I love the way they look on my feet. Much joy is sparked. Thanks to the designers and product developers for this one.

Purchased the white GTX pair for my wife, to match my black GTX pair. Shoes worked out great on our trip to Boston when we got caught in the rain. Worked out well walking around through the city and used them on our 3 mile morning run! Very comfortable to use all day, but make sure you break them in before you use them! Highly recommend the Gore-Tex pair, as it resists water and dirt vs the normal mesh. Just make sure you wear the correct socks (ie. moisture wicking or wool) as your feet do get warm.

I have 2 pairs of the XT6 non-Gore-Tex models and 1 pair of the Khaki Gore-Tex XT6. They're comfortable, feel great, and fit great. The durability of the Outsole is questionable, especially when compared to other Salomon products. After 3 runs/ hikes the bottoms of all the shoes started shaving, and some cracking could be noticed. While I'm not a person who greatly cares about the looks of the shoe. After the first run, noticeable amounts of scuffs began appearing, which caused some doubt about its longevity. These scuffs were not your average, but rather scuffs that dug into the actual frame of the shoe. I would only recommend this shoe for trend-followers or a light city walk. I love the shoe and have bought many different pairs of Xt-6s - incredibly comfortable fit. However, almost every pair I have got have become too smelly to wear within 3-4months of use. I have never had this with any other shoes. I thought buying the goretex version would solve the issue by reducing the chance for moisture to get in but unfortunately it is still the same and now, along with my previous pair, they are unwearable in public place. Hope they sort out the materials in these shoes soon because I love the fit and design.
The shoes are extremely comfortable but the quality is so poor that under normal usage conditions (ie, slipping on a shoe, moving the tongue to the center) the tongue seams ripped down in the shoe toward the toe, which apparently isn’t considered a manufacturing defect by the customer service department. (Customer service reps will also twist your words so their claim denial makes sense in their minds instead of being the inappropriate outcome.) Don’t expect to be able to treat these shoes like any other sneaker from any other brand on the market right now (don’t adjust the tongue like normal, don’t lace them like normal, don’t count on the waterproofness, etc). Super disappointing for a $220 shoe from an ostensibly reputable company. Do better, Salomon.
I wore this shoe for a quick hike. The shoes started to have stained all over the front upper area because my feet started to sweat. The stained could not be wiped off. I think it has a poor ventilation. I got the safari color way. The toe part of this shoe started to become yellow after one day of using this. The only good thing I can say about this shoe is its one of the comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I can't return the product because I already used it. I thought it was the perfect shoes. The looks are 100 percent good. I am very disappointed with this shoe. Also, this shoe is expensive. I don't think this should be the price for this kind of shoe.
Have a lot of XT-6. Wanted a waterproof pair, and went for the XT-6 gore-tex model. I first noticed that the sizing on these does not correspond with the sizing in my other XT-6's. The the toe cap on the right shoe seems to be a bit wider than the toe cap on the left shoe (and my right foot it bigger than my left foot). I recon this must be a manufacturer fault or something. Combined with the already too large sizing on these shoes, this makes a hike more annoying than I've expected. I've put in some extra thin soles. That fixed the issue with the sizing on the left shoe, but the right shoe is still slipping on my heel when I walk. Also, these shoes are not waterproof. I was wet on my toes when I took the shoes off after the first city hike.I would not recommend this model to anyone who looks for a waterproof shoe for rainy days. Buyers should also be aware of the sizing issue with this model, and I encourage Salomon to advice potential buyers to size half a size down on these ones. Based on the other comments I'm not the only one with this sizing issue.
I like the fit of the shoe and the sleek design. Albeit uniquely distinct-looking, it is fairly easy to pair with whatever clothes you want to wear. I would’ve given 5 stars but I couldn’t get past the very minor cosmetic issue on the shoe upon receipt. There were two gray scuff marks on one of the shoes that would not come off. I don’t want to go through the hassle of the return/replacement process and I wanted to break them in immediately. That being said, I hope salomon offers member points or some type of discount code on my next purchases to compensate for the minor cosmetic issue at hand; seeing as they are a very reputable and the xt-6 being one of their flagship iconic shoes.
I walk twice a day in wet and muddy fields with my dog so any shoes I have get really tested. My last pair of Salomon lasted over 2 years. I have bought these XT-6 in the hope they are as good as the previous. To my pleasant surprise these a new level up on my previous pair. They are so comfortable and the grip is really impressive. Fully waterproof as well. I would suggest a half size up on your normal shoe size. I absolutely recommend these shoes.
