This pair of shoes feels good from the get go. No need for breaking, and it offers great support and even speed for trail run. Sturdy and very light though. Delivery service was superb and got my item before estimated date.

As others have said, fits like a glove -- almost like they are already broken in for my foot. My foot fits best with Brooks/Saucony shoes so far. This was my first Salomon. Really grippy tread. A bit tighter than a normal shoe to get on because of the integrated elastic sock, but really fits well once on, and probably will keep out most dirt/stones. Very lightweight and I found I needed a bit warmer than normal sock in the winter while wearing them. I don't wear them all the time, just for trails where I want the extra grippy tread and light weight. Use my Glycerin 20s for higher mileage runs.

Best trail running shoes I ever had. Simply confortable, light and easy to adjust with the Salomon quick lace system. Ideal for ultra distance on technical trails. Unfortunately. like any other trail shoes, they don't last very long if you use them for training as well and do a significant amount of kilometres per week. Other then that, I would strongly recommend this very high quality product from Salomon! I liked them so much that I just ordered my third pair!

I bought this shoe about a month ago and have run a couple of hundred km so far. This is a fast shoe, which really feels like it is propelling you forward. It took me a little bit of time to get used to the higher stack height compared to my previous shoe, particularly on rougher terrain. The shoe feels pretty light when running; and gives a good feel of connectivity with the terrain despite the stack height. The fit is also excellent for my narrower feet. I find I need to do the wire lacing up quite tight, or readjust after a few km, as the lacing tends to slip a little when running. Overall though the shoe is really comfortable. Generally I’m really pleased with the shoe. First time I’ve bought a Salomon shoe and would definitely do so again.
As with the first model, this is a fantastic shoe to put lots of km on! I like the material on the inside of the shoe much more; it’s a nice improvement over the last model, as is the slight change in how the laces tuck away in the tongue. My only dislikes with the model compared to the last are a slightly narrower toe box (but this will pack out somewhat) and the two flaps on each side that are now part of the lacing system. I’ve snagged some debris in them during runs and they’re a bit more cumbersome to clean mud out of, but overall still really like the Slab Sense Ultra models.
Awesome shoes, looking and feeling great. durability is outstanding! 800+ miles of training and racing later. Ground filter is great at reducing the effects of acorn/ gravel paths on the feet. Worth the extra money IMO.
I really ĺove cushioned shoes for running, and these s/lab ultas feel great. They did initially put pressure on my left outter and inner forefoot. However after 2 days of wearing them around in the office they broke in and felt great, so factor in a break-in period. Best way i can describe the shoe is cushioned yet firm and responsive. I cant wait to test these out on our summer trails. Right now im using them in sloppy mud from thawing snow and winter runs. Awesome shoe.
I was a huge fan of the first Sense Ultra, and honestly cannot understand why they only had that model around for a year. I liked it a lot more than the Ultra 2 for comfort and really long runs. The Ultra 2 is a good shoe. It is light, comfortable with or without socks, and I am a fan of Salomon's lacing system and fit. Not sure I love the wings they added to this shoe, but again, it is a good shoe. I have almost 500km on them and they are still in good shape.
I loved the S/Lab genesis. Decided to try S/Lab Ultra. At first, the toe box looks narrower than Genesis. I had a trial run for 40 plus miles in very rugged in Arizona without having any problems. It has a little wiggle room and very well supported my low arches. I like a sung feel but too tight and kept my ankles and foot from buckling. Definitely worth of investment!
I agonized a long time about spending so much on a running shoe. Luckily, on one of the Squamish 50 orientation runs, Salomon had a few of these for demo, and I got the pleasure to use them for the entire 35k length of the run. I absolutely loved them! Coming from Sense Ride, which I now find clunky, I loved how nimble, and light they feel. Very responsive, and despite the harder sole, I had no issues at the end of the run. It also made stepping on the odd sharper rock not as unpleasant as with softer shoes. They do tend to run a bit hot, something to be aware of. Highly recommended, especially when on sale :)
