If you are a previous owner of a Salomon vest, you will want to really pay attention to the sizing chart for this item before you order a new one. Although there is a note which indicated "it's close fitting" this should be in bold. I have multiple vests which are mediums and the adjustments are so tight, the vest is basically overlapping itself in the middle of my chest, so I decided to go with one smaller size (my measurements would indicate this is the correct size to purchase), but this one is a drastic opposite which only allows me to utilize it on a very relaxed adjustment. Fit aside, the functional pieces of the vest are on par with previous generations. The bottle adaption from the previous generation of flasks will take a little getting used to, but since they are closer in volume to the stated stats, and they are much easier to fill, refill and maintain shape, this should make up for the difference in my opinion. I would also recommend that you look closely at the images with respect to pockets, stashes, side zips, etc. I find many people say "Oh, I thought it would hold more stuff" but they didn't really realize what the capacity was in the first place, there are some great differences between each model from the 2, to 5, 12, etc. So be sure you will be able to comfortably carry all of your training items, race needs or day to day running extras when you head out the door. In preparation for the Mozart100 I have finally bought myself a new running pack, the Sense Pro 5.As noted by many customers, I am in total shock about how much bruising the product causes on my ribs. I went out for 2 half marathons yesterday and today and came back with black and blue ribs in the areas where the bottom of the flask sits. For me there is only 3 options how this may have occurred. Either, your team didn't test the product with enough runners before release which is crazy given the price tag and QA systems you have in place. Or...it was always set out to have poorly designed flasks so that customers would buy themselves 2 new flasks online. The last option being the one I least hope for.....

I concur with others that bruising is an big issue. I changed the flasks to soft ones and that helped with the bruising. On top of that I had major chafing and the vest broke multiple shirts that I wore underneath.When asking Salomon about possible issues on the manufacturing the reply was "The Sense pro is the most technical vest that we produce with the softer materials and there is not any stitching issue that will cause this issue."They only said that it was due to wrong sizing, although based on their charts the size is spot-on.Overall all seems like the quality and the price do not meet on this one

Coming from a cycling background and used to a hydration pack or bottles, I had some trepidation towards wearing a running hydration vest as I thought it would be heavy and bouncing around as you run. I have to say I was totally wrong, this vest is amazing, I have just run a 25k trail route as a test for the vest, I had both bottles full, a bit of food in the front pockets, hat, gloves and lightweight jacket in the back. Straight from the start it just stayed in position, you really don't feel it moving at all, the bottles stayed in place and the extra weight didn't feel an issue at all, it really didn't feel like I had it on. My run was around the Cornish coast paths in the UK and you are either going up or down, on the descents the vest didn't bounce at all. I'm ... Regarding fit, it was bang on, I didn't need to adjust the straps across the front, it seemed to fit perfect out of the bag. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. I would definitely recommend this vest.
I am very pleased with the fit and quality of this hydration vest. I understand some of the comments regarding the speed flask tips causing some discomfort, but I find that as soon as they are not completely full or after a few sips, the discomfort goes away. Also, some commented that the collar material is somewhat rough and can cause some irritation, but I found this is only the case with wide-collared shirt or a tank top, and only before I start sweating a little. All in all, I think a lot of people are being very harsh on minor issues, though they do exist. The vest has lots of room for snacks and accessories, is very light, and is comfortable even on longer runs (21+ km)

The vest looks great and fits perfectly like other Salomon vest. The bottles have a rigid end to make them easier to slide in and out. I didn't have any issues with them causing pain or bruising like other reviews mentioned. The back of the vest did cause very bad chafing on the back of my neck/back. I wore this vest over a compression shirt and running tech tshirt and the vest still rubbed the exposed area above my neckline. Wearing with a quarter zip or hoodie makes the issue go away but not a great solution. Wish the mesh in the back was better designed because it really rips up any exposed skin
I used the previous version for many years and it was fantastic. This model was redesigned and rides a lot higher on my back, the friction shreds my neck and upper shoulders. I have horrible red marks and I am not sure if I can keep using it. I do like the more rigid bottles, and no rib issues as others have mentioned.I wish there was a waterproof pocket for my phone, I miss the old zipper compartments that used to be on the back in front of the reach-through pocket. That said, the neck friction is too much so I am probably going to look at other brands going forward.
I've had a few Salomon vests. I've been using the Adv Skin 5 but it's too hot with the tarp thing that covers your back. I'm 5'10" 160 and usually the mediums fit good. With the Sense Pro I couldn't even get a medium on. I'm kinda muscular but not huge. I got the product 3 weeks back after exploring all the various options and thought a skin hugging model would be the best hydration pack for half day hike/runs and events on trails. Used it 2 times in training runs (3-4hr runs) before taking it to the last weekend's full marathon event (5/6/2023). It took me 7.5hrs to finish the event and it was hot for this time of the year, by the end of the run my right shoulder was severely chafed and the skin is yet to heal after 3 days. This might be good for someone else, definitely not for me. Planning to use it couple of times before coming to a decision to keep it or thrash it.
