Absolutely Excellent - My all time favorite shoe! What more can I say, these are my 5th pair of Salomon Speedcross shoes.

Beautiful and functional

I bought these Speedcross 3 shoes for myself and my son for Christmas and they are awesome. The fit is great and the traction on non-smooth, dry surfaces is fantastic. Oddly enough though, the traction on smooth surfaces when wet is horrible. They slip and slide everywhere.Since I'm mostly wearing these for gym workouts on non-smooth surfaces indoors, it makes little difference to me.

Disappointing narrow shoe

I have been a great fan of Salomon shoes for the past seven years, I own twelve pairs and have even done a 100K non-stop walk in a pair of XA Pro hiking shoes. I have always bought size 9½ standard width, but lately found that the last two pairs I bought came up somewhat narrow and needed stretching. For these Speedcross 3 Gradient shoes I decided to go up a half size to size 10 but they are incredibly narrow, even in the larger size. It felt like my feet were in a vice and just a short time wearing them indoors was enough! Don't know why Salamon shoes have become so narrow these days, the 'wider' sizes are very limited to one or two models of shoe and are only available in one dull colour (brown or black). These Speedcross shoes also feel more cheaply constructed ... MoreI have been a great fan of Salomon shoes for the past seven years, I own twelve pairs and have even done a 100K non-stop walk in a pair of XA Pro hiking shoes. Salomon - please consider 1. making the standard width more accomodating, and 2. if you are offering wider widths, make them available for multiple different shoes and in bright interesting colours rather than just one muted colour.

Great

I'm so happy to have bought this Speedcross again. The first one I bought was 8 years ago. It travelled with me over 8 countries and done literally hundreds of kilometers. It gave me comfort with every step of the way, and now it has retired for the new one to continue the journey. Please see pictures of the last trip of the first one and the first trip of the second one!!

I just love them
21 January 2023

I love the design of these shoes and they feel great, though it does take a few days to break them in. About the fit, they run pretty narrow and the sizing is the same as Asics. Those zigzag things may push into your arch, that's what happens to me, but it breaks down eventually, that's how it was for my pair of X Ultra 4.

I love these shoes so much! I have seven pairs and will continue buying them as long as new color ways are produced! Thank you, Salomon!

Love for Narrow feet!
18 June 2022

I absolutely agree with the other review. I am a female, size 9 with a narrow foot. Loved the Speedcross 3 and 4.....had to give the 5 to my son. This shoe I ordered, unisex, in size 8, crossing my fingers it would fit....and it does!!!! There are not any shoes out there for narrow feet. If you don't like this model, choose from the buffet of shoes out there for normal and wide width shoes. The Speedcross 3 is a perfect shoe for those who have narrow feet and want a nice trail running shoe that fits like a glove! Thank you Salomon!!!!

Perfect for narrow feet!
22 May 2022

Some people's lemons are another's lemonade, and the speedcross line (minus the 5) is just that - it's a narrow precision trail instrument perfect for narrow and low volume feet. This shoe holds everything in place perfectly and provides prompt response and solid trail feel. Unfortunately people complain about how narrow they are, BUT please don't and instead buy one of the other hundreds of shoes out there that are roomier! Most shoes are for normal/wider feet and it took me years and thousands of dollars to find a shoe that fit me this well. I've logged thousands of miles in the speedcross 1-4 and unfortunately, the 5 seems to have responded consumer complaints and it fits more like a normal shoe. For me, that's a very very very sad thing. Salomon, please keep the SpeedCross for us with narrow feet and especially for people that want a tight fitting shoe - there are not that many out there (Also, I've got an extra navicular bone that needs the tight fit for support and these shoes have helped me trail run and avoid surgery for over a decade - I love this shoe).

Sound Footing
14 January 2023

The Speedcross 3 Gradient have served me very well in this break-in period. Arch support and comfortable cushion response in the sole are the first thing I got excited about. The style is aggressive and more technologically advanced looking than other trail runners. One thing that was a little difficult was obtaining secure footing on wet concrete, as it was a little slippery with the knobby bottoms.

Very supportive

They are very form-fitting, not tight. Super comfortable and light. But if you have wider than average feet, you may want to consider a different shoe.
