I can no longer wear them, they just REEK of cat pee, I've tried cleaning them, removing and replacing the insole, nothing works. They just STINK. And this is not the first time this has happened with a pair of Salomons, I have thrown out another pair that also suffered from this cat pee smell issue. It's definitely NOT my feet, or my socks, or anything to do with my own personal body odor, it is these shoes, something in them just REEKS of cat pee after any kind of moisture enters the shoe, and no matter how careful you are with drying them out or cleaning them afterwards, they will continue to STINK FOREVER! This is the last pair of Salomons I will ever buy. Just not worth the money for less than a week of wearing. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Took these shoes on a classic mountaineer route where there was open meadow, loose rock scrambling and rock climbing involved. Felt great in all these area. Very grippy and gave me enough feel through the sole to climb but not too much to hurt me feet.

This is my third pair of Salomon Men’s XA Pro . I find them amazingly comfortable, well built, durable & most of all , dam good looking.I enjoy the ease of their Lace up method.Expensive , but a reliable comfortable casual sports shoe.
Love the shoes. BUT, they are my 6 th pair of Salomon's, and I expected the sizing to be identical only to find these are marginally bigger !
I've worn numerous Salomon trail shoes, road shoes, hiking boots, ski boots for 23 years. Quality has always been good and fit has been reliable until the last year or so. Unfortunately the new XA Pro 3D V9 runs about a 1/2 size small. This is no problem for most-just order up a size. But for me and other bigfoots it's a problem. I wear a 13 medium. There is no 13.5 so I'd have to go up a full size. The 14 is too large so I'm out of luck. It's already a challenge to place these battleships on ledges, steps, rocks ,etc. Imagine adding 1/2" of space in front of your toes. Otherwise the V9 is more flexible than the V8 so needs no break-in. The lace garage is generous and easy to get the lace in vs previous versions and other models of Salomons. I purchased the XA PRO 3D V9 a month ago. I've been wearing them to hike on dirt, gravel, concrete, and asphalt paved trails. The shoes are very comfortable and have great toe box room. I ordered them true to size and haven't been disappointed.
I liked the lacing system on my CC ski boots so I thought I would try it with a pair of your shoes. Trail shoe seems more sturdy that a track shoe which it should be. I like the even distribution of lacing tightness with one pull.
Excellent shoes, as was the V8. XA PRO 3D is my favorite from Salomon in the "Walking/hiking/treking" cat.
Just a great shoe! Jumped on the XA Pro 3D at V3 and have owned every version. Each version improves upon the previous one.
