Bad material/bad quality

I am so disappointed. I never complain about items but for the price you would expect better. These shoes scuffed on first use causing some of the colour to rub away. They have only ever been used lightly but have worn down so quickly (started wearing them about 6 months ago). The thread is fraying and now a patch of the shoe by the ankle has started to wear away. After about 5 minutes of wearing, sweat patched become visible on the 'breathable' material.Any other salomon shoes I/a friend has owned previously have lasted a long time with heavy use. It seems as this model of shoe are in fashion at the moment, the quality of the materials have been compromised causing them to wear away quickly.

Comfortable under foot, uncomfortable near toe

I bought the Salomon XT-6s a month ago. The midsole is soft and comfortable. My only complaint is that the tongue is very thick near the top of midfoot. That makes the shoe very uncomfortable to wear for longer times. Since I have already used it outdoors a couple of times, I cannot return it anymore. Now I will only wear them for their good looks.

I've been wearing Salomon hiking shoes for years. My old XT-4 were finally a bit worse for wear (I still wear them for yard work) and needed a replacement. XT-4 weren't in stock, but the XT-6 were. I was pleasantly surprised how well the fit my narrow feet (similar to the XT-4). Plenty of cushioning and very good traction on the trail. It was funny, we had a party of nine people that went to Montana (Glacier National Park area) and of the nine, eight had Salomon shoes. The one person in our party that didn't have Salomon's had issues. His were brand new and showed major signs of wear at the end of the trip. Everyone else's shoes, including my XT-6 were flawless. Great While They're Great
29 January 2024

I've had three pair of XT-6's, and I've loved them all so much until the grips wear down. My first pair I wore constantly, including long serving/bartending shifts, and I thought the mystery substances on the restaurant floors caused the grips to wear down rapidly. However, my next two pairs had their grips wear down quickly too, even after I stopped working in a restaurant. Regardless, they're so comfortable and supportive. Just be careful and keep an eye on your grip treads when the weather gets slippy.

Long time customer - relatively unhappy
1 April 2024

I’ve been a long time customer with Salomon and have always loved the products. I have bought skis, ski boots, and for the past 3 years have worn either the XT-6’s or the XT-4’s for long periods of time. However, my most recent pair unfortunately have managed to tear in the heal really easily. I would expect this kind of damage if I was trail running however I am just wearing them around London so wouldn’t expect major wear and tear so early. I have provided a photo below.

Love the shoe but some negatives.

I got these a couple of months ago, first the pros: they look great, are very supportive and grippy and I can wear them over long distances without unwanted chafing or discomfort.Initial cons: the only area for sweat to escape happens to be directly above the toes, after a long day of use in hot weather the area becomes sweat stained (khaki colour mesh). Secondly, the rubber around the toes is very quick to get scratched, and the shoes do not look new for long. After one wear walking over rocks you are likely to have some scratches. Finally, the plastic/rubber design along the edges of the shoe becomes quite noticeably creased and out of shape quickly, which contributes to the shoe looking worn out. The lace system also appears to tug tightly at the bottom loop, ... MoreI got these a couple of months ago, first the pros: they look great, are very supportive and grippy and I can wear them over long distances without unwanted chafing or discomfort.Initial cons: the only area for sweat to escape happens to be directly above the toes, after a long day of use in hot weather the area becomes sweat stained (khaki colour mesh). Obsessed!

Im typically a women’s US 6.5 and I wear a Men’s 5 or Woman’s 6 in this sneaker and it first perfectly. These are my go to everyday shoe. I’ve worn them nearly everyday for the past year. They’ve gone on long hikes, rugged trails and everyday city life outings and they are nearly perfect.I don’t take care of them or anything. When they are dirty I chuck them in the washer on a light cycle and air dry them.10/10 , buying another pair as we speak.

So so comfortable - but soles just don't last
8 March 2023

I have a couple of pairs of XT-6s and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. Truly a pleasure to wear, especially with good fitting socks. I do have narrow feet, which helps. The main problem is that the sole is so thin, I've had this pair for nearly a year , not too much use but the soles are through to the foam already so are likely to only last another week or so.This is even more annoying as the rest of the shoe is in perfect condition, they don't even have the weird splitting round the heal that my other Salomons have (which I don't really mind)My other Salomons soles lasted until the rest of the shoe was falling apart (usually 3 years) so it can be done!I appreciate they are for use on Soft Ground (even says so on the side) but to get to the ... MoreI have a couple of pairs of XT-6s and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. Very nice looking with design flaws
30 November 2023

The shoes look really nice however I am disappointed that the quick lace is such a downgrade from speedcross at this price point. The lace has no elasticity and the plastic tip is so small it rarely stays is place under the shoe tongue and it often sticks out in a very unasthtatic way. In my speed cross 5 the lace is flexible and much better quality and design. The tongue also seems to be longer than required and it either creases or touches your foot too much if extended fully. The support is good but cushioning around the ankle could be better. At this price point I expected improvements not downgrades.

wear and tear

great comfy shoe, but durabilty is lacking. I have purchased 6 pairs of these walk hikers as its a good lighweight shoe, the problem is they only last weeks. the material in the shoe box maybe too thin or not durable and the sole wears out very fast. this being ssaid, i do use them 4-6 times per week and would expect a little more life out of them. i will still buy another pair, just hoping they can maybe look at a better solution.BRING BACK THE OLD STYLE SALOMON SANDLES!! BEST SANDLE EVER, WHY DID YOU DISCONTINUE THEM??
