Salomon XT-6 GORE-TEX (Black / Green)

The Salomon XT-6 Gore-Tex Black Silver takes Salomon’s signature trailing running technologies and applies them to a city-inspired sneaker. This lightweight runner boasts an upper made of synthetic mesh, which is designed to keep debris from entering the shoe. Gore-Tex bonds to the mesh upper and creates a protective layer that is waterproof and windproof yet also breathable. The sneaker features an all-black construction with reflective stripes that form triangular shapes and spell out SALOMON. The EnergyCell midsole provides responsive cushioning on concrete, compact soil, and rough terrain, while the rubber tread provides traction. A toggle lace closure with thin, durable laces secures the shoe and allows for easy adjustments. Branding details can be found on the inner side panel and the tongue tag. The Salomon XT-6 Gore-Tex Black Silver was released on January 27, 2024, and retailed at $200.

A mild disappointment.

Having worn nothing but Salomons for the last 6 Months and by now I must own around 20 pairs ….. it’s been a disappointment to get a pair of the XT6 Gore-Tex Navy and they fit differently to all the other XT6’s. Now I thought at first maybe it’s just because of the Gore-Tex material but I have then purchased the Deep blue with the green strip Gore-Tex XT6 and they fit like a normal XT6???? Is this a manufacturer issue ?Really does make a confusing situation.Stock levels are low, and the email notifications do not work.Starting to have more and more issues with Salomons.

I have 2 pairs of the XT6 non-Gore-Tex models and 1 pair of the Khaki Gore-Tex XT6. They're comfortable, feel great, and fit great. The durability of the Outsole is questionable, especially when compared to other Salomon products. After 3 runs/ hikes the bottoms of all the shoes started shaving, and some cracking could be noticed. While I'm not a person who greatly cares about the looks of the shoe. After the first run, noticeable amounts of scuffs began appearing, which caused some doubt about its longevity. These scuffs were not your average, but rather scuffs that dug into the actual frame of the shoe. I would only recommend this shoe for trend-followers or a light city walk. Let’s be clear about the XT-6 GT

I can’t believe the past reviews. I got these when they first dropped back in October and have worn them at least 2/3 times a week. Amazing and comfortable shoe. Let’s be clear: These shoes are for the city, not hiking trails nor running. Yes, they are waterproof but I wouldn’t go purposely jumping in puddles. I’ve even worn these in the snow. Best part is, they still look brand new.

Live in these for most of winter

Love these shoes. They look amazing. Proper batman vibes. They definitely fit differently than your normal XT-6 - a bit more snug. I had an issue with a different gore-tex pair where the heel pad really irritated my achilles, but that didn't seem to happen with this pair. I actually ended up with a second pair that I have on ice for future cooler weather seasons.

Nice looking shoe. Questionable durability.
18 November 2022

Had these for a couple of weeks and have mainly been using them for walks around town rather than anything adventurous. They look really nice and are waterproof but they seem way too fragile for an outdoor shoe. In just a few days deep scuffs have appeared and they seem to have lost their water repellency already which makes me question the longevity of this shoe. Bearing in mind this has happened on just a couple of strolls around town, I'm not full of confidence taking them on outdoor hikes etc. which is what I bought them for.

Not as durable as they claim!
6 December 2022

I had waited and waited for these to drop as I needed a pair of comfortable, durable and waterproof shoes for a trip to the Pacific Northwest. Salomons came highly recommended and after deliberation on the cost I pulled the trigger. Well, here I am in PNW with the rubber sole separating from the midsole at one of the lugs… after only 2 days of light wear! On top of that, the mixture of TPU overlays with Gore-Tex has my feet sweating in 30 degree weather. Very disappointed in the quality. The sole is what makes this shoe great for urban exploration and light hiking and if its separating then this is just a good LOOKING shoe, not a functional one.

Not waterproof. Runs big in size.

Have a lot of XT-6. Wanted a waterproof pair, and went for the XT-6 gore-tex model. I first noticed that the sizing on these does not correspond with the sizing in my other XT-6's. The the toe cap on the right shoe seems to be a bit wider than the toe cap on the left shoe (and my right foot it bigger than my left foot). I recon this must be a manufacturer fault or something. Combined with the already too large sizing on these shoes, this makes a hike more annoying than I've expected. I've put in some extra thin soles. That fixed the issue with the sizing on the left shoe, but the right shoe is still slipping on my heel when I walk. Also, these shoes are not waterproof. I was wet on my toes when I took the shoes off after the first city hike.I would not recommend this model to anyone who looks for a waterproof shoe for rainy days. Buyers should also be aware of the sizing issue with this model, and I encourage Salomon to advice potential buyers to size half a size down on these ones. Based on the other comments I'm not the only one with this sizing issue.

Not worth the GTX
14 November 2022

Adding goretex to this silhouette seemed like a no-brainer. Having a pair of the standard XT-6, I figured this would be a great winter addition. This model, however, is stiff and larger than the normal XT6. The goretex shell is a far cry from the soft “hug-like” feeling the standard XT6 provides. Also, because the shoe lacks as much interior padding, the sizing was incorrect for me (I wear XT6 in 10.5 and that was too big on both feet in this model).I attempted to exchange the shoe for a smaller size but because it scuffs so easily, they were not eligible for a return after one day of city walking.I only wear these to walk around my college campus and unfortunately do not see many wears in the future.

Quality is fair and they got VERY stinky
10 May 2023

Overall, I like these shoes but when I received them I noticed that there was glue showing through the fabric, looks like the factory rushed these through production. The main issue is that they got CRAZY stinky. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect and I'm aware my feet can get a little stinky from time to time but when this normally happens, its usually a treated situation, ie shoe deodorizer, air them outside, etc..but in this case everything I do seems to make it worse. Currently, if I wear them and take them off I need to leave them outside, or they will stink up the whole room. I have 3 other pairs of GTX sneakers: hokas and salomon and none of them have this issue.

Unable to get them
3 December 2022

I'm quite dissapointed with you Salomon. I've been waiting for the Khaki model to drop for months. Release delayed by months without notifying interested customers. And now you decided to released them without even notifying your 'member' customers. And guess what? Only people able to get those are scalpers. Such a bad experience.
