I have been using the Salter body scale since a year now and it has been frustrating. I have been in de gym or on my bike a couple of times a week and there is no change in body composition. When I go for a run my body water % goes up which is impossible. It seems the water % and muscle % are correlated as are the weight and bodyfat. Even after a year of going to the gym my muscle % has dropped 1%, also impossible. The only data that is to be trusted is the body weight. Shame if you claim to be a body composition scale. Thomas

Seems to be an accurate and consistent device. I downloaded the app to my phone and now get a daily reading of how my weight and fat% are changing day by day. I care less about the absolute numbers than the trends so getting a graph that updates every day encourages me to spend more time riding my bike and less time hand drawing charts on the bathroom wall. Highly recommended and much cheaper than the Garmin equivalent.

Came with no instructions, managed to find online eventually. Once set up with the app scales would not read anything but weight. Could not get it to read any other readings as advertised. Not suitable for purpose. Have returned it . Would not recommend

I wish I saw the reviews before getting this. I downloaded the app and linked the scales but the data does not send to my phone there is nothing in the book that says how to fix this I could be better plus I don’t know why I have to make an account just to use my scales.

I was a little unsure as to whether to purchase or not having read a few of the reviews which said they didn't work correctly, but I went for them and I am delighted. Several comments state that the biometric functions don't work and that the scales only display the user's weight. I can only put this down to the fact that they have not read the instructions and set the scales up correctly. Yes; if you just stand on them they WILL only display weight. But if you activate them (by standing on them) and then press the function button, so long as you have done the initial set up of entering your height and age etc., all the other readings will be displayed. And if you have installed the app on your smartphone (and the app is running!), the data will be transferred to it. If the app is not running, the data will be stored in the scales and transferred when it next connects. The app is great for tracking all measurements and displays very useful graphs. App install - Easy to do Setting up scales for each user - Fairly easy Pairing to phone - Took a couple of attempts Transfer of data - Hit and miss until you know the method. Open app place phone on floor next to the scales. Activate scales by pressing centre of scale. Using the middle touch button and right arrow button to select user ( P1/P2/P3/P4) THEN step on scales stand still wait till it takes all readings. Weight BMI Water and Fat content. After which you will see a series of alternating zeros which means data is being transferred to app on phone. App MUST be opened first before stepping on scales. This is not clear in the instructions. Otherwise a fantastic set of scales that will weigh in excess of 30stone.
Bought these yesterday, for some reason you can't connect to the scales via Bluetooth if you don't allow the App access to your location, not sure how that works!! So as I'm not willing to allow Salter to collect and sell my data the scales are useless to me as you can't even change the reading from Kg to Stones and pounds!! Total waste of money unless your happy to share your data with the world, mine are going back to Lidl on Saturday!!
I had to return the first one I bought as it didn’t work and the second one has lasted two years and now stopped working. I have changed the batteries but that was not the issue. It is not all that user friendly and the app has a poor user interface. Would not recommend nor purchase ever again.
Great looking scales that have lots of features. Together with the Salter MiBody app the scales help you log your weight and several other health metrics
Salter are a brand I really trust, so had no qualms about buying these scales. Let's face it they've been around forever. I'm not happy. The instructions are a thick book, yet there's hardly any information in them as they are in so many languages. It talks about a button that doesn't correlate to the scales. Had a difficult job getting them to sync to my phone and read composition. I had to contact salter as there's no trouble shooting in the instructions. I finally managed it to sync and it was great for two readings now its not doing it again. I'm trying to get it to do a full resetto start all over again, but I can't get it to clear my info. I'm quite disappointed and feel they let the salter name down.
