Not a great bar. The kids were looking forward to trying these unfortunately they were a fail in our house. We were disappointed with the product as it looked nothing like what was on the box we had no chunks of anything. There was only nuts and chocolate covering the bottom. The taste was not pleasant at all. We could taste more salt than the nut or chocolate flavours. We opened all bars and they were the same. I am not sure if this was the end of run or just a bad batch but I would not buy this range if this is the result. I could put aside the appearance if it was a great taste but unfortunately this was not the case.

The kids ate the lot .... Within a day these had all been polished off with a range of opinions. I managed to score one bite from a bar as it was walking past me in the hands of the teenager as I asked for their opinion .... they were a popular and welcome addition to the pantry stash ! Overall very well received. The common feedback is that it wasn't very 'cookie dough' flavoured in the traditional sense of something cookie dough. Whilst there was the odd chunk of cookie dough it was mostly a nutty protein bar. Perhaps a little more cookie dough if that's the angle otherwise rethink the name of this variety. With much less sugar than other options and being a popular snack choice that's it in the realms of being healthy it will likely make it on to our shopping ... MoreThe kids ate the lot .... Tasty Snack Bar. These were very easy to find on the shelf with the Sam's Logo and the flavour both clearly visible. It was a huge bonus that these were gluten free so both hubby and I can eat them meaning one purchase rather than two different ones. They are a good price especially taking into account they are gluten free. Another huge bonus is there is 45% less sugar. As a fmaily with a diabetic and wanting to reduce our sugar intake as much as possible I am always looking for sugar-free or low sugar products. I much prefer natural sweetening from fruit or similar and now find products with way too much added sugar too sweet. The other huge plus for this product is the added protein. The big disappointment is while they are made in Australia it says from at least 12% Australian ingredients. This is way too low and I'm sure most of the ingredients could be sourced here. The taste and flavour are both very good. I'm not a huge fan of anything 'cookie dough' but I didn't mind these and found them quite pleasant. The use of dark chocolate for a healthier addition is great and not only are there are peanuts and almonds but sunflower seeds too for an extra healthier boost. I enjoyed these and definitely recommend them. They are very filling so great to keep the hunger pains at bay between meals without over-indulging and feeling too guilty. I'm keen to try the Rocky Road flavour too. That flavour amongst several other appealing ones looks delicious.

Thumbs up for Sam's Pantry 45% Less Sugar Cookie Dough Bars! I've tried reducing the amount of sugary products that my daughter consumes however she mainly rejects sugar-reduced alternative products which means I end up wasting my money purchasing those items. However with this product she said it tasted just as sweet as other bars that are not sugar-reduced so that is a bonus for me. She also liked the cookie dough flavour. Although not lunchbox friendly as it does contain nuts this is a great at home or on the go snack that is a little healthier than equivalent bars. I like that it contains 29% peanuts 4. 5% sunflower seeds and 3% almonds; and that it has 10g of protein. Despite my daughter only liking white or milk chocolate she didn't even notice it was dark (and I won't tell her!). I still however treat this only as a treat (and a healthier one at that) as the second main ingredient is glucose syrup also there are 12. 8 grams of sugar per 100g which I still consider a little high (but definitely better than bars which are not sugar-reduced!). As a general rule of thumb under 10g sugar per 100g is good to aim for.

Mixed feelings. I first tried this brand's macadamia bar and was unimpressed so I this bar was already on the backfoot. None the less I thought I'd really try to be objective. I decided to try a few of them before writing the review and I am glad I did. The first two bars were actually not bad. First taste was a bit like a peanut butter rice bubble treat and enjoyable but it leaves a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste though it is not a dealbreaker because I would by it for its nutritive value rather than taste. The second two however had sections in them of something like undissolved powder that taste like sawdust. I would not risk buying these again which is a shame because I am always looking for something that is 'meal like' and convenient to eat on the run. Also i ... MoreMixed feelings. Also i note with the brand in general it states proudly made in Australia but on closer look it is from only 12% Australian ingredients. Also they maximise the note on almonds with only 3% whilst peanuts which make up the majority are noted after. When put side by side with a similar bar like Carmen's protein bars they are still slightly better value as Carmen's are almost double the price with only an extra bar and all else being roughly equal. I haven't tried Carmen's but will look more closely at their package next time in store too see if they too 'describe' the same way and also where the ingredients are from. Nutritive value is about the same though the sam's bar is lower in sugar as stated. In conclusion not sure I would buy these again because of those two bars that were 'sawdusty'. If it wasn't for that I MIGHT consider if I was instore and they were on special and I was hungry especially as they are reasonably filling as a snack

NOT BAD AT ALL. Hey Dude. I a big fan of Museli bars since the 1st time I tried 1 in 1981. Yeah 81.... Stop Laughing at me I am not a fan of overloaded museli bars with extra bits. In particular biscuit. I make my own and use an unusual flavour mix of oats nuts grains & lemon and either peanut almond cashews blended into a paste and slow cook. I'm not a fan of Cookie Dough anything but each to there own. There is nothing wrong at all with flavour or size ingredients. I wood just pick different flavour. ThanksFor Those About To Cook.... We Salute You!

"Not enough cookie! I happily gave this sample to Miss GF - we're always looking for new ideas for her to snack on. Her first response was ""Where's the cookie???"". Upon unwrapping the whole bar she could discern one piece (better some than none I said!). The bar itself is quite chewy - which I felt was mostly the peanut butter element but it may also be the sugary substance that binds all the nuts together. It is quite tasty with a nice mixture of nuts and the dark chocolate base is not overpowering. The lasting taste you are left with is definitely nuts - so the Cookie Dough name might be a bit 'optimistic'. Perhaps a name change (something like Nuts and Dough) might be in order. I was also quite disappointed by the Proudly Australian Made claim. Initially I thought ""great an Aussie product"". However further investigation reveals a small label on the base of the box (see pic) stating only 12% Aussie ingredients. I think the initial claim is quite misleading. I really like the packaging - the picture on the front of the box is appealing and it has all the 'important' information right at your fingertips. I also like that it's made with recycled board and can be recycled again once empty. Overall I gave this product 3 stars. It is quite tasty but not quite what it is advertised to be. I also deducted a star for the low Aussie made ratio (despite a claim otherwise). "

Nice product. I like the Sam's Pantry protein bars. I love the Rocky Road one especially and was happy to try the Cookie Dough bar even though I am not a fan of chewie bars or cookie dough either for that matter. I was pleasantly surprised however as it tasted great with the seeds and nuts giving it a nice crunch and the partial dark chocolate coating completing the overall product enjoyment. I will most probably buy again! :)

No bad. These bars tasted quite nice with a good mix of ingredients through the bar. Not what I would call cookie dough flavour but ok. The lower sugar content was great. A bit odd to contain 5 bars 6 would have been better as for 2 people someone misses out or you have to buy another box. Proudly made in Australia fantastic but this can be a bit misleading as on the bottom of box it says Made In Australia from at least 12% Australian ingredients. A lot of people would assume made in Australia they are made with Australian ingredients. Not so. No mention of what and where these other 88% ingredients are from. Not really a protein bar. These tasted nice. Not really full of 'cookie dough' flavour to us more like a nut bar. Yes it has 45% less sugar than other bars but seriously it can be made even less if you used better ingredients especially if you want to call it a protein bar and market it as loosely as 'healthy'. The pieces of cookie dough were really inconsistent between bars some had a few chunks spread well one had a large chunk taking up most of the bar and others had scattered crumbs. Only 5 in a pack which is annoying as most 2+ person households will have to buy two packs if each person wants as a treat. Make it 6!While. the price is reasonable these are not something I would buy regularly due to the ingredients lack of protein and still haveing 4. 9g of sugar ... MoreNot really a protein bar.
