We love these cases, they feel very sturdy and durable, but the test of use is still to come, although with a 5 year guarantee we feel quite confident. Liked the extra pockets inside for paperwork etc. Loved the little hidden tag by the handle for the included address label, we liked the fact that it's tucked away out of sight but handy if needed. Handles all feel strong and the adjustable handle has many different levels which is great. The zips are very neat too, and the zip to expand even has expand written on it, so you'll not get them muddled when trying to open the case. We got yellow as it's easy to see on the carousel, just hope not too many people have the same idea.

Packs more clothes than you would think - ideal for short holidays. Allowed as cabin baggage on BA flights and major airlines. Strong but light and very mobile. Simple layout inside with a couple of small pockets. Being retired, I'm not sure we'd use the computer leads but I'm sure younger, business people, would regularly make use of them. We already have an earlier model of this case and have found it extremely useful.

This case is robust but lightweight and has loads of space. Using it expanded to pack and then closing the expander zip allowed me to fit everything I needed and to meet airline 20kg limit. The only comment I have is that because of the central position of the zip, the handle is not central. However since most of the time I was wheeling it, that didn't matter. It was very easy to wheel it and as long as you pack evenly between the top and bottom sections, it is very stable. I might add a luggage strap just to give a little more protection to the zip being under strain round the middle.

Have been looking for a replacement suitcase for some time as my 20 year old case is getting a bit tatty (has been used a couple of times a year during this period). Everything I have seen seems to be lightweight and feel very flimsy. Went for this Samsonite in the end, as I have been very happy with Samsonite products in the past. It too is very lightweight and feels flimsy. It was with a certain amount of trepidation, therefore, that I used it for a return flight recently. It survived intact, so far, so good! Whether it will last 20 years I rather doubt. It has to be said that all the newer style suitcases on the luggage carousels seem to be of the same lightweight build, so they are probably more durable than they feel!
This suitcase took all I needed for a two week holiday with room to spare. The luggage weighed in at 15kg thus well under the 23kg flight baggage limit. As it was not stuffed full to the brim the zip "collapsed in on itself". This would not happen if the suitcase were filled or overfilled.A small "nick" was taken out of the plastic part of the zip during it's journey via baggage handling but the rest of the case survived very well despite it being very "soft" to the touch and easily deformable. This may well be it's strength as it was not dented or otherwise damaged by baggage handling although it has incurred minor "grazing" along it's edges. Only time will tell if this detracts from the expected lifespan of the suitcase. We bought a Samsonite case as, although expensive, they are supposed to be a good suitcase. Loved the locking mechanism on it, much easier than messing about with locks and keys. However, we have come back from a very recent holiday after first use and the case has loads of scratches on it. The exterior material is easily marked and scratched. The inner of the case is good but when comparing with our old suitcase (over 20 years old) the lining is very thin, our old one ha lots of padding. This one is lightweight though which is what we wanted.
We are really pleased with this suitcase, its sturdy, light and easy to use, its expanding section is very helpful especially when closing if it's quite full. We like the sections inside too, you can keep clean things compartmentalised. Also the narrower handles allows for a backpack to be slid over. and easy release of the handle is good. not yet used on a flight so hopefully it stand up to a bashing from baggage handling!
I wanted a brightly coloured suitcase that would stand out. I found a cheerful bright yellow Samsonite. The sales assistant in the Oxford Street branch tactfully suggested it also came in grey, blue or black. I feel in a holiday mood looking at the yellow case and know that no one will accidentally take it off the carousel. The exterior of the case is strong and the wheels feel secure. The interior is spacious with useful zipped spaces. Yes it was expensive but I'm very happy with it. And yes, strangers approach me and tell me how they like my suitcase. I'm extremely happy with it.
You can't go wrong with samsonite. After having the same samsonite check in bag that I've had for over 10 years, I decided to invest in a quality carry on bag also. This bag is super lightweight so doesn't take away from your baggage allowance. It is also very easy to move around on any surface (include pebble roads) with ease. Highly recommend. This should last a lifetime since it will not be checked in and thrown around, worth the investment.
Unfortunately experienced the same issue with both my cabin bag and the larger 81cm bag. On two separate occasions, the zipper has bent out of place and cannot be inserted in the TSA approved lock, thus making it redundant unless you use a manual lock and key. This happened to my small cabin bag and then again to the larger suitcase on a separate trip. Not too fussed about having it repaired because I know it'll happen again - seems to be made out of flimsy metal. Would choose a different model because of this. Not the quality you'd expect from Samsonite.
