I have installed Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA 250GB SSD in my HP 15-bs145tu laptop. It is working perfectly fine for me. I have not faced a single problem. Screw for installing the ssd is also provided on the laptop motherboard. I have used GPT partition system, and installed Windows 10 on it. I also turned off legacy support in bios settings. Windows 10 boots up in few seconds. Now the true power of 8th generation Intel core i5 8250U quad core processor is realized. My laptop is now working butter smooth, no lag at all. This is the best ssd available in the market. Very reliable and very fast.Thank you Samsung for making such wonderful product.

The great drive I went from the Asus q536fd that came with 256 SSD and one terabyte spinning drive. Replace the spinning drive with a 500 gig to and a half inch Samsung QVO and the m.2 with the Samsung 870 m.2 pcie as it was not compatible with nvme I was able to get it to boot and load it just got way too hot to the touch and it would just be a matter of time until it melted my motherboard. All in all it's a solid buy you can't go wrong I've had this drive in the computer now for 3 years I've had to recliner once due to software corruption in Windows 11 but I'm reinstalling 11 as we speak and the drive still works great

This is an older SATA M.2, NOT a newer NVMe M.2. Make sure you are getting the correct one, they are not interchangable. I put this in a Dell Inspiron 7375 2n1 13" Ryzen5. It booted and has worked flawlesly. Even though it is a SATA M.2, these EVO models feel a lot faster than the smaller stock Samsung SSDs. The only negative is that they are almost twice the price of the newer NVMe models.

I am currently using Samsung 860 EVO 250GB M.2 2280 together with Toshiba 1TB HDD on the ASUS vivobook 15 R542UQ-DM153 ( X542UQ model )SSD Installation done by Asus service engineer , compuage service center bangalore .after Inserted SSD , I powered on the laptop , Bios detected SSD including serial numbers without errors .SSD working very fine .SSD gives speed with windows 10 enterprise 64bit booted within 6 seconds .This SSD is not available for buying in shop.samsung.com , This is drawback for the users.I request the Samsung company , allow the users to buy through online for less price.I recommend this SSD to buy for the laptops , which has M.2 2280 slotThanking you Samsung and SSD designers for development of M.2 SSD
While I've got nothing bad to say about the M.2 MLC V-NAND Sata III internal Solid State Drive, and everything to reccomend it having repeatedly purchased, installed and configured a multitude of custom builds satisfactorily with it, I can't refuse to call into question the organization who both hired and supports the most rude and obnoxious "ASSISTANT MANGAGER" Named "VENESSA C" - last name omitted for obvious privacy issues. As much as I dislike shopping at other named brand computer stores, I find myself unwilling to support our local Microcenter because of the multitude of terrible experiences I've been made to suffer at her bombastic self serving attitudinal "SERVICE". Take it or leave it?Easy choice from where I stand.Great hardware Drive, though.
You will need a magnetic small screw driver, or tape the screw to the head of the driver before attempting to screw the M2 down. That tiny little ...thing... will cause you a lot of grief if you don't. Mine didn't come with a screw.. but the MB did so I was OK. The problem is, its so small it can get stuck anywhere if it floats around on the MB and be very difficult to see. Visions of lifting a full tower build upside down and shaking it to get a tiny invisible deadly screw out. You may need to insure all your SATA cables for other drives are plugged into the lowest numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. SATA ports on the MB ( lower numbers are usually towards the left of the block)... so the highest numbered slots are kept open (SATA M2's apparently use them up even though they ... MoreYou will need a magnetic small screw driver, or tape the screw to the head of the driver before attempting to screw the M2 down. I've been asked to review this SSD and a copy of Windows 10. The SSD? It's a Samsung product. Very little to criticize, it was easily installed in my wife's laptop and performed as advertised. The Windows 10? It is what it is. The good: MC is a brick and mortar store where you can actually hold the product before you buy. Sales associates are plentiful, knowledgeable and eager to help. Items can be ordered online and are ready for pickup when you arrive, I've spent lots of money this way. The people at the registers are friendly and willing to help. I've got price matching discounts by request and that usually works, I'd rather support local businesses. I'm not sure about these review offers, the rules state: The Sweepstakes is open to any person who is all of the ... MoreI've been asked to review this SSD and a copy of Windows 10. The SSD? I'm not sure about these review offers, the rules state: The Sweepstakes is open to any person who is all of the following: (i) a Micro Center Insider Account holder and so is eligible to submit product reviews. (ii) a purchaser of one or more qualifying products, (iii) a legal resident of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico); and (iv) eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Maybe I'm qualified! Anyway, It's a good place to shop and I continue to use their business when I can
I picked this up because my son's laptop (Dell Inspiron 3189) started acting up. Chalked it up to a possible bad SSD because of how random it was and that the lockups always had to do with trying to upload files to Canvas or ClassKick or one of those other sites they used for virtual school.Anyway, I installed this in an external enclosure so I could clone the drive. I used a 3rd party cloning tool to make a 1:1 copy of the drive. after completion, popped the new drive in, ran a CHKDSK on it just to make sure everything copied correctly, and it's safe to say that this is faster than the SSD Dell included with that computer; boot times and times for opening things like Firefox and Microsoft Word are way down from what they were. This was definitely worth it.
UPGRADE from 1tb version. Using this on a old Toshiba satellite L850 Intel Quad Core with 16g DDR3 1866 RAM. (in a orical metal m.2 to sata 3) 2.5 inch case. Anyway with first drive using rapid mode, you get the best sata ssd transfer speed you can get from a ssd sata model. (as long as you got more than 8g ram.) Both windows 7 + 10 (in slow boot) boot up in seconds). Make a olde quad core notebook look n feel new Highly recommended.
install in a Dell 15-5770 was pretty easy. Hardest part was taking laptop apart. You have to take the entire back off/after the 11 or 12 screws. If you have a cd player, that has to also come out. (first) Other than that, part snapped in and screw was provided which holds drive in place. Used Dell software to clone and magician to optimize. Also added 8GB ram. Both worked after setup. At first drive wasn't online- had to go to device manager and turn to online. Wife is very happy with speed of drive. I left the old drive in as storage.
