Ive played console on a TV all my life. Very recently started looking into monitors to see if it would give me a slight edge on the competitive multiplayer games I play. I went from a 48” 1080p TV to this monitor and it completely changed my gaming experience.I run a PS5 right now, so while I cant take advantage of everything this monitor has to offer, I can take advantage of the 1440p,120hz, 1ms response, & IPS panel through an HDMI. I play COD ranked with no problems. My shot tracking and movement has improved greatly, feels like I took off the ankle weights and Im on skates.I thought it would take time adjusting to the screen size coming from a TV gamer all my life, so I ordered the 32” and it took no time at all to adjust to it other than sitting a little ... MoreIve played console on a TV all my life. Sadly, it was a blind purchase since it lacks a decent full-on review from the likes of RTINGS. Took the chance I still prefer IPS over VA panels to replace as my primary from dual 27" IPS setup. OLED too expensive. Would've bought the Alienware AW3423DWF if money/budget were there. This IPS monitor was almost a golden egg for its tech level. Only gripe/CONS are with the power, video port and mount designs. Super awful.PROS: IPS 180Hz Freesync Panel. 2K so semi-midrange GPUs handle fine in 2K gaming like the RX6650XT.CONS: DP/HDMI I/O has tight clearance with the OEM mount. Vulnerable to crimping. No pass-through in the OEM mount. My DP cable was thick since it supports high-refresh and 10ft. VESA mount only compatible with a square plate else, 3rd party spacers ... MoreSadly, it was a blind purchase since it lacks a decent full-on review from the likes of RTINGS. The AC Plug has a 90 degree bend so be mindful of your power outlet arrangement. Cable management was awful to do. Will be difficult for horizontal AC outlets vs vertical AC outlets. Requires manual OSD management to enable Freesync/Refresh Rates.

This is a great gaming monitor. Be sure to use a displayport cable if you want the full speed refresh rate. It takes a little bit of tweaking for HDR gaming, and once set, it looks great. It's awesome for first person shooters because of the fast motion, hardly any motion blur. But for slower moving games, you can definitely see the aliasing on the edges because of the 1440p resolution. The resolution is really not a problem for such a small screen, but I also have a 4K monitor and it is much crisper. Overall I'm very happy with this monitor, I also got one for my kid running an RTX 3000 series video card. He's pretty happy.

I use my monitor for gaming and work. It is so perfect because the demands for gaming is there with no issues and my demand for work with scaling blueprints and running 3d cad program. Both work and gaming requires a lot from the monitor and I can easily say this monitor meets all criteria I need. I can't find any issues with it. It doesn't blow off heat, it's so crisp! My computer desk isn't the greatest and even the balance on this monitor is great. I've had a few previous monitors and they've fallen down when I knock the desk by accident. This monitor stand is great as well.
The Samsung G5 is a great entry way into 1440p gaming! The 1440p looks great if you want that added sharpness (especially if you sit very close) and thats the main reason why i got this. As for the unboxing experience everything was really simple and easy to set up. I was surprised that out the box i only had to tweak the colors only ever so slightly. I have no defects or any quality issues with this monitor! At 180hz its also plenty smooth though response times are not the greatest. All in all im super happy with it and hoping it lasts me many years! My brother has a G4 which has worked without any problems, so it made me confident going with Samsung.
Well I gave this beautiful monitor only a good . Picture is great! I have a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti VISION in my tower and again picture is great. So why only a 4 rating? Well my first gripe is the power on or Standby LED does not work, but I do not find this enough (so far) to drag it back to Best Buy for an exchange. The other problem is a general lack of information on setup. My other monitor's in the past I could put in standby and when the I started the computer they would start up even if it had been days. This Monitor is a little tricky as I have to set the hours I want it in standby. This made it slightly more complicated because again the on/standby LED doesn't work.Otherwise besides their is a general lack of 3rd party info out there due to the fact ... MoreWell I gave this beautiful monitor only a good . I still recommend it!
I am really liking this monitor. The Odessey G50D 27".Purchased this as my first gaming monitor to mate with a new AMD PC with HDR and FreeSync capabilities.Assembly was pretty easy using the instructions. The stand is really substantial and has plenty of heft to keep it where I want it. The range of adjustment is impressive and easy to do. The flat base, while a bit large, makes it easy to put things under the monitor.I do like that the back of the monitor is just black and not flashy or too ornate, as many gaming monitors are.I thought the power/stand-by LED was not working. Looking really close I see it does work, it is just really small and dim.The monitor buttons to navigate the menu are pretty simple to use after a bit of practice.Hooked up the included ... MoreI am really liking this monitor. Started an older game that ran steady at 180 fps to great result.HDR stuff looks OK, especially after using the Windows HDR Calibration tool.As I don't game as much as I just use the PC I am pleased with this display for browsing. Text is crisp, colors look great.I'm still trying things out but I haven't run into any issues. This is a keeper.
Ordered a brand new unit. To my shock, I found an embedded hair that's stuck behind the monitor surface, in between the panel layers. It is obvious and prominent to the right side of the panel. Obviously I can't take it out without taking the hardware apart, and Samsung customer service seemed unsurprised and was absolutely worthless, stating that I should just return it to Best Buy. No investigation or follow through on the fact that their $300 computer monitors ARE CONTAMINATED WITH HUMAN HAIR. Avoid this product and anything Sumsung AT ALL COSTS. No quality control whatsoever. You have been warned.
Solid monitor for the sale price. It’s a good size that hits 1440, hdr, and 120fps for console gaming. I purchased this after using a 4k va monitor for my ps5. The brights bleed through more on this but the refresh time is much better than the 4k va panel and did it with less ghosting. If you’re looking for a solid mid range choice for the cash this is it. Would be excellent for a 4070 tower pc build for full qhd gaming with high fps. Wait for it to go on sale before picking it up. $450 would be a little steep for it, since for another $50 you be within striking distance for a 4k 144hz ips monitor.
